About the host
Hosted by Sheila
For many years, this house has been the heart of our family’s best memories—swimming in the clear water, fishing off the dock, enjoying star-filled skies, gathering by the fire, and simply being together.
Now that my children are grown, it brings me joy to share this treasured place with other families and friends looking to experience the beauty of the Traverse City area.
I have hosted in other sites with five star reviews. This is the first time I have listed the entire house. I know how important it is to find a place that feels clean, safe, welcoming, and truly relaxing. My goal is to make every guest feel at home the moment they arrive.
This home is a little piece of heaven on earth, and I feel grateful to share it with guests who will create their own special memories here.
Why they chose this property
I chose this neighborhood because it offers something that is becoming rare in the Traverse City area: peace, privacy, safety, and natural beauty, while still being incredibly close to everything guests want to experience.
Located on beautiful Chandler Lake, this quiet setting feels tucked away from the busy world. Being near the end of the road gives it a calm, secluded atmosphere where families and groups can truly relax without the distractions of traffic or crowds. The private sandy beach, shallow clear water, and star-filled nights create the kind of Northern Michigan experience people dream about.
What I enjoy most is how this area gives you the best of both worlds. During the day, guests can enjoy swimming, kayaking, fishing, trail walking, winery tours, theater, live music, and exploring all the culture of Traverse City. Within a short drive, you can visit downtown restaurants, breweries, Old Mission Peninsula wineries, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Empire Beach, Platte River canoeing, Interlochen Center for the Arts, and beautiful Lake Michigan shorelines where guests love searching for Petoskey stones.
At the same time, when you return home, the neighborhood instantly feels peaceful and grounding. You hear the water, watch the birds, see the fish in the shallows, and feel like you’ve stepped into your own private retreat.
To me, the best part of this neighborhood is the feeling of coming home to a safe, quiet, beautiful place after a full day of Northern Michigan adventure. It’s the perfect blend of convenience, nature, culture, and comfort.
What makes this property unique
What makes this property truly unique is its stunning waterfront setting and 150 feet of private sandy beach, offering guests a peaceful, front-row seat to the natural beauty of Northern Michigan.
The shallow, crystal-clear shoreline is home to bluegill and bass that often glide close to shore, creating a magical experience for both children and adults. Guests love watching their brilliant blue, silver, and orange colors shimmer beneath the water, and many enjoy feeding them from the dock or even swimming alongside them in the calm lake shallows.
While they may not be dolphins, there is something truly special about sharing the water with these beautiful fish in such a peaceful, natural environment. It creates a sense of wonder that guests remember long after their trip.
Combined with the star-filled skies, quiet lake setting, and feeling of total privacy, this home offers a one-of-a-kind experience that feels both peaceful and unforgettable.
