Romantic farmer house, sunny, nice location and view

The Binder Farm welcomes you to Assling in the Puster Valley of East Tyrol (Tyrol, Austria). Nestled in the cultural landscape, with the imposing Lienz Dolomites across the valley and far from through traffic: Here you can enjoy peace and quiet and the mountain air, as well as the inspiration and energy that this place radiates. Lienz, the small town in East Tyrol with plenty of Mediterranean flair, is just a 20-minute drive away.

The farm is surrounded by meadows, forests, and gardens. In front of the ground-level entrance to the apartment (we rent out only one apartment!!) there are several seating areas exclusively for our guests, offering a breathtaking view of the Dolomites across the valley. A large lawn for sunbathing, whose edge seems to vanish into the mountains, and a pond in which the mountains, the moon, and the stars are reflected, are right on your doorstep. The sauna is available for your exclusive use. The spacious sauna relaxation room can also be used as a playroom.

In our house, newly built in 2003, traditional architectural style and modern, comfortable furnishings have been stylishly combined. Only environmentally friendly building materials were used. Both the cosy holiday apartment and the outdoor area offer everything you need for your holiday!
Every season brings its own unique natural atmosphere that never ceases to amaze. Hikes, mountain bike tours, and tobogganing or skiing trips (only when there’s enough natural snow!!) can all start right at your doorstep.

Garden and Courtyard Tour: Upon request, you can join us on a guided tour of our “hanging gardens,” which are laid out across several terraces. Our focus in the garden is on diversity and the preservation of heirloom varieties. Have you always wanted to drink your own herbal tea or use your own St. John’s wort oil? With a few tips, suggestions, and explanations about the herbs, you can easily preserve the treasures of nature and our garden.

We’d be happy to give you a tour of our farmstead and explain details about the design, the eco-friendly building materials, or the home’s systems. You’ll also find a folder in the apartment containing extensive informational materials. Since we live on-site, we’re always here for you—including with tips on how to plan your holiday. We also provide free Wi-Fi so you can access information online at any time.

Scenic Experiences: Our farm is located in a scenic paradise unlike any other. The fascinating Tyrolean mountain landscape rises all around our farmstead. Since we’ve structured the grounds into several terraces—creating many flat areas—you don’t feel as though you’re sliding down the mountainside. Our expansive grounds offer ample opportunity to retreat into nature; many spots invite you to linger, enjoy the moment, and meditate. Natural spectacles can be observed in a very special way during every season. Secluded yet centrally located, in the heart of East Tyrol with the Lienz Dolomites across the way and just a stone’s throw from the world-famous South Tyrolean Dolomites, you can find peace and truly relax here.

The Assling Wildlife Park is a 10-minute walk from the farm. There’s a petting zoo with rabbits, guinea pigs, donkeys, various wild animals… and lovely playgrounds. Admission is free for our guests. On hot days, we recommend cooling off at the outdoor swimming pool in Thal/Assling (10 minutes by car). Admission is free for our guests here as well.
