The location is great and easy access to the water. The water from faucet had a strong sulfur smell which was quite noticeable. All the bedrooms are quite tight but nice. The kitchen is adequate but doesn’t have many frying pans or sharp knives. The paddleboat and kayaks were great fun and we used them for fishing and caught many!

Thank you for your feedback! I’m so glad you enjoyed the waterfront location, kayaks and paddleboat, and especially that the fishing was a success! I’m sorry about the sulfur odor you experienced with the water. As with some private wells, this can occasionally occur and is something we can address when we know it’s happening. During your stay, I understood the concern to be with the filtration system rather than the odor itself, so unfortunately I didn’t troubleshoot the right issue. I’ll be more proactive about clarifying that in the future. I’ll also be adding some new kitchen knives. There are three frying pans in the kitchen, including some stored below the stove, and I’ll take a look at how they’re organized so they’re easier for guests to find. The bedrooms are cozy, with more emphasis on larger beds and storage than open floor space, and I appreciate you sharing your perspective on that as well. I’m glad you were able to make such good use of the lake and enjoy your stay!

Days spent on the water, evenings watching the sunset, and the simple joy of lake life are part of who I am. It feels especially meaningful to now share that experience with others.

As a local with deep roots in this community, I love helping guests discover everything that makes this corner of Vermont special, from hidden swimming spots and local restaurants to scenic drives, hiking trails, and the best places to watch the sunset. Hospitality has always come naturally to me, and my goal is for every guest to feel welcomed, comfortable, and to leave with memories they'll want to revisit for years to come.

Why they chose this property

I chose this location because it feels like a hidden corner of Lake Champlain where time moves a little differently. Tucked at the end of a quiet point, the cottage reaches out into the open lake and is surrounded by a small community of seasonal camps that have been cherished by the same families for generations. There's a peaceful, unhurried rhythm here that's becoming harder to find.

The setting is one of my favorite parts of the property. Each evening, the sun melts into the Adirondack Mountains across the water, painting the lake with incredible sunsets. In the morning, you can catch the first light filtering through the trees on the opposite side of the point. Water surrounds you, breezes are almost constant, and whether you're enjoying coffee on the deck, launching a kayak, or ending the day around the fire, it's a place that naturally invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and simply enjoy being at the lake.
