Perfect location for our fishing excursions based out of Falmouth Harbor. Walking distance to the harbor and Flying Bridge restaurant.

APPARENTLY,”CLEANED” MEANS SOMETHING DIFFERENT AT VUESTAYWe stayed Aug 6-9 2026 at this Vrbo rental managed by VUESTAY. Two days after arrival we discovered a USED CONDOM on the bedroom floor . Yes, you read that correctly -a used condom, apparently overlooked during the cleaning and inspection of the property.We photographed and contacted VUESTAY . What should have been a simple and appropriate response turned into a frustrating series of back-and forth communication with multiple people . Eventually, they refunded our 246 dollar cleaning fee. While we appreciate the refund,what was missing was an actual apology or any meaningful acknowledgment of how unacceptable this was. Instead, after the whole experience ,we were told “they hope to host us again” Thats quite an optimistic invitation considering we had just discovered evidence that the bedroom had apparently not been cleaned between guests. A 246 cleaning fee is supposed to cover cleaning-not simply serve as a refund when guests discover what the cleaners missed . Finding a used condom on the bedroom floor isnt a minor housekeeping oversight . It’s disgusting ,unacceptable and raises serious questions about the comapnys cleaning standards and quality of control. Needless to say we wont be taking VUESTAY up on their invitation to “host us again.” There are plenty of vacation rentals where we can sleep peacefully without wondering what the cleaning crew left behind.

This is a comfortable, well-maintained property suitable for a family beach vacation except for that we had ants in the house the whole stay. We noticed them immediately at check in on Sunday and contacted the host immediately. Two days later on Tuesday, the host dropped off 4 ant traps. This was not sufficient to stop the flow of ants inside. There were more and more throughout our 4-day stay although we were doing our best to be tidy. We even started keeping the trash in the back room with the door closed. But they had a way in and kept coming. We let the host know this was an issue with our stay and first were asked to explain the absence of ants TWO days after our checkout (maybe because the property was vacant, we had been courteous and taken out all trash, and without people bringing food into the house, the 4 ant traps were sufficient?) and then were finally told it is part of the local environment. We live in New England. We have seen ants in the summer and with effective intervention, you do NOT have to live with ants. And we have stayed in the cape before and this was not an issue in any of the other places we stayed. It got to the point we were avoiding the property and didn’t feel like we could eat there so it very much interfered with our stay. This was our first time with a corporate host and will likely be our last. They simply aren’t invested enough in the quality of your stay. We killed at least 100 ants and saw up to 30 at a time. Not ok from a “superhost.”
