Over the past three years, we’ve spent most of our time renovating the old “Cloppenburg Villa” ourselves. Now it’s finally ready to welcome guests. Located on the outskirts of Rüdnitz, it’s less than 100 metres from the forest, which borders directly on the Biesenthaler Becken nature reserve. Swimming lakes, bike paths, and hiking trails invite you to enjoy an active holiday. Rüdnitz alone has three horseback riding stables, and golfers will also find plenty to enjoy (there are 18 golf courses in and around Berlin alone). Come unwind and take a deep breath far away from the hustle and bustle of Berlin—which is still just a 30-minute ride away by regional train or car (from the train station).

Our guest apartment is located partly in the attic of the former barn and partly on the upper floor of the main building. It impresses with its impressive ceiling height of a good 7 metres in the living and dining area. When you look up here, you see where four roof surfaces meet. It almost feels as if you’re standing in a wooden cathedral.
It’s a great place to relax or work in peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle.
Throughout the construction process, we placed great emphasis on using eco-friendly building materials and thoughtful design. The interior design spans the period from the house’s year of construction (1917) to the present and was partly designed and crafted by us. Found objects that came into our possession during the construction phase tell a little of the house’s history.

We live on the ground floor of the main building with our two dogs and children and use the inner courtyard. As guests, however, you have your own staircase (which you share with our tenant) and thus have the space to yourselves. There’s also a section of the garden (the outer courtyard) reserved exclusively for our guests and our very nice tenant. He uses the garden only extremely (!) rarely, though. Starting now, there’s a covered dining area here with a fire pit and privacy screens.

The double bed is 1.90 m long; the other beds are 2 m long. The sleeping area in the attic is open (so it doesn’t have its own door). Blackout options are available in Bedroom 1 in the form of sliding shutters.

The dryer and washing machine are located in the bathroom.

As small as Rüdnitz is, there are three farm stands here. Vegetables, meat, eggs, and sometimes (depending on availability) cheese, juice, and honey are all within walking distance—everything organic, everything local ;)
Starting in December 2022, Rüdnitz will also have its own supermarket.

A charging station with a 22 kW charging capacity is available for electric cars. Electricity usage is billed separately.
