In August, our family spent seven wonderful days at Putnam Place. I grew up in Leelanau County, and over the years our family has returned many times. For this trip, four families gathered at the farm, which was the perfect place to relax and reconnect. We loved its peaceful, remote setting among rolling hills, cherry orchards, and woodlands. The farmhouse felt warm and welcoming, with a back deck overlooking the sunset and hills, a front porch ideal for morning coffee, and a large, well-stocked kitchen with a dining area spacious enough for everyone.We loved exploring the northern tip of Leelanau County, where four charming resort towns were less than 10 miles away, tucked between northern Michigan forests and the shores of Lake Michigan or Lake Leelanau. Our family enjoyed shopping, dining, beach time, and scenic drives along back roads winding through forests, farms, orchards, and vineyards. The beaches were beautiful, and we spent most days walking the shoreline in search of Petoskey stones, Charlevoix stones, and Leland Blue—or simply swimming.A delightful surprise was the Sandhill Cranes that visited the property each afternoon. We loved watching these beautiful birds and the graceful dances they performed.

We had such a wonderful stay at this charming farmhouse surrounded by beautiful rolling cherry orchards. The views were absolutely stunning, and the home was warm, cozy, and full of character. It was the perfect place for our family to celebrate our mom’s 70th birthday and spend quality time together. The property was especially great for our kids, who loved the open space to explore and play. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to make such special memories and would love to stay again!

Everything was amazing…the farm, the home, the view, the evenings by the fire pit and even so much more! The host was excellent with communication and even left us a welcoming gift! I can’t say enough great things about Putnam Place! I highly recommend staying there! We will be back!!!
