Nearby is the Rambower Moor, featuring a lake and numerous bird species and wildlife.
The moor was voted Germany’s most beautiful moor in 2014 and is a protected nature reserve.
The town of Lenzen, about 5 km away, offers shopping, doctors, a castle, a historic town centre, and the Elbe Cycle Route. The town of Dömitz is about 25 km away and borders Lower Saxony. Dömitz also has a fortress that is definitely worth a visit.Ludwigslust (29 km), with its castle, and Schwerin (67 km) are also worth a visit.
Just 2 km further on is the “Bauer” restaurant in Ferbitz. This is highly recommended and, for those who’d like to, is within easy walking distance.
