Tucked just outside the heart of Freeport, this charming coastal loft suite is the perfect blend of cozy retreat and Maine adventure. Thoughtfully designed with soaring ceilings, a warm gas fireplace, and a unique lofted bedroom accessed by a classic ship ladder, the space feels both inviting and unforgettable. Wake up in the queen loft, sip coffee by the fire, and enjoy a quiet morning in your private suite before heading out to explore everything the Maine coast has to offer.
The suite includes a comfortable living room, a kitchenette with dining for two, and a full bathroom, and a loft bedroom—all exclusively yours. Access is through a shared side entrance, but once inside, you’ll have your own peaceful getaway. Our family does live on the property and are available if you need anything during your stay. Outside, wander through the gardens, relax on the patio, or snack on fresh Maine blueberries right from the bushes lining the walkway in summer.
Location is everything here. You’re within walking distance of L.L.Bean, local coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping, while still surrounded by nature and the ocean air. Bring your kayaks or paddle boards—the public boat launch is just around the corner—and for the adventurous, the public swim dock is only a block away for a refreshing Maine dip.
Summer in Freeport is pure magic: hike the shoreline trails at Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park, walk to outdoor concerts and movies downtown at LL Bean, paddle the Harraseeket River, and feast on fresh lobster by the local marina.
In winter, discover a quieter coastal charm with snowshoeing, saunas, cold plunges, and cozy fireside evenings after a day exploring Maine’s snowy landscapes.

About the host
Hosted by Erica Barclay Antioco
After an idyllic vacation to Maine in 2022, our family made the leap from our beloved Colorado to the Maine coast. We found our home in Freeport and have enjoyed exploring this beautiful corner of the country and becoming part of the community by the ocean. We love hosting other travelers on their journeys!
Why they chose this property
The first time I drove down this street, I remember thinking, “I would love to live here someday.” Little did I know that just one year later, a home on this very street would become available—and we would end up moving in.
This neighborhood truly feels like the best location in Freeport. It’s within walking distance to downtown, coffee shops, restaurants, and grocery stores, yet it still feels peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by nature. It’s a true walker’s paradise.
What makes this property unique
Our property is full of historic New England charm. The original front colonial portion of the home dates back to 1796, offering a unique blend of history, character, and coastal Maine atmosphere.
This small cluster of historic homes was once part of a shipbuilding community, Porters Landing, where large wooden schooners were launched directly into the Harraseeket River—right near where the public swim dock sits today. Staying here offers a chance to experience a little piece of Maine’s maritime history while enjoying all the modern comforts of a cozy coastal retreat.
