Tucked away at the quiet end of a wooded, dead-end private road, this charming 1,050 sq ft lakefront cottage offers a rare blend of privacy, character, and unforgettable views of Long Lake in Traverse City. Built in the 1960s, the home features 4 cozy bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms, along with a warm, inviting living space anchored by a wood-burning fireplace. The fully equipped kitchen and dining area seat 8, perfect for gathering after a day on the water.

Step outside to enjoy multiple outdoor living spaces, including an upper deck with a gas grill and dining table for 8 people, plus a separate lounge area with a couch and chairs—all overlooking the beautiful Long Lake. Just steps away, a lower deck with a picnic table sits closer to the shoreline, leading to your private dock. Enjoy using 2 SUP Boards, 10' and an 11' for a morning or evening paddle along the shore. Surrounded by woods with no homes across the road, the setting is peaceful and secluded, with nearby walking paths and no traffic noise.

Additional amenities include heating and A/C, new dishwasher, new washer and dryer, outdoor grill, a fire pit for evening relaxation, and even an optional 18-foot pontoon boat (with signed waiver and for additional fee), making this the perfect Northern Michigan escape. Sorry: No Parties, No Pets, No Smoking.

Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights
#1 Start load of laundry: Put all soiled gray towels, hand towels, wash cloths, and darker colored kitchen towels in washing machine. Use Frankincense and Myrrh laundry soap. Turn on warm. THANK YOU!!
Close and pull lever down on all windows.
Cover all deck furniture with provided protective covers.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Cover outdoor deck sofa, chairs and table/chairs when not in use to protect from rain and leaves.
No Parties, No Bachelor or Bachelorette Parties. No more than 8 people at any time. Quiet Hours 10pm-7am as listed by the Long Lake Township Ordinance
Outdoor Gazebo is not yet finished for guests to use - it is used as storage for Life Jackets and Tubes, etc.

We stayed here as a group of 6 - 4 adults and 2 young kids. We had plenty of space to stretch out between the indoor and outdoor spaces. All of the beds were exceptionally comfortable! Right outside the house is a nice place to jump off the dock as well as a nice weed-free place to swim. We also enjoyed exploring Long Lake on the pontoon boat. Definitely one of the best rental properties that we've had the chance to stay!

We have been visiting 'Up North' for over 20 years, and after renting vacation cottages and cabins over the years in various towns and cities in the area, we found ourselves only wanting to come to Long Lake.

We love the interesting shape of Long Lake, along with 5 islands: Long South, Fox, Picnic, and Brush. The crystal clear, clean, and warmer water during the summer, along with 3-4 sandbars to anchor your boat and enjoy a day lounging, throwing a football, rafting, and enjoying a cold beverage, is one of the quintessential 'Up North' experiences on top of only being a 20-minute drive to all that downtown Traverse City has to offer.

We love the quiet and private wooded setting. It is another level of calm and relaxation.

What makes this property unique

The smaller, and more intimate size of Chalet du Lac is especially nice for families who might normally have busy lives downstate in the suburbs and appreciate spending quality time together.
