DORNUM NEAR DORNUMERSIEL (a beach resort with a sandy beach on the North Sea’s Wadden Sea is 8 km away):
VILLA BUTTERBURG, a stately-looking estate on a 4,000 m² shared property, is situated in a sunny location on the outskirts of Dornum. Town centre (restaurants, supermarkets, bars, pubs, and cafés) is 1 km away; the nearest shopping area is 500 m away; and the beach resort (admission fee required) with a sandy beach is 8 km away.
The property consists of the main house, built in 1905 (a former dairy made of red clinker brick), as well as a terrace house with a total of 4 residential units.
The large, beautifully landscaped, park-like property—shared with the other holiday guests—features: lovely mature trees, several seating areas, a small children’s playground, a beach chair, hedges, ornamental shrubs, and lawns. Numerous parking spaces are available throughout the property (free choice and subject to availability).

The corner townhouse ESKE has its own terrace with furniture and a parasol. It features a welcoming, bright interior and is well-equipped. The bathroom was recently completely refurbished and extensively renovated. New flooring and new windows. Satellite TV, radio, and internet (Wi-Fi, free of charge). Gas central heating.

The holiday town of Dornum and the adjacent, well-known North Sea resort of Dornumersiel are located directly on the North Sea in beautiful East Frisia, within the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park.

The charming town of Dornum (which, by the way, promotes itself with the slogan “A seaside holiday with historic flair”) features a lovely market square with numerous shops, bars, and cafés. Many seasonal events are held here, such as medieval jousting tournaments and farmers’ markets.
Dornumersiel (5 km from Dornum) is a very lively town, located just behind the dike. Norden is 25 km to the west, and Esens is 10 km to the east. Just offshore lie the three islands of Norderney, Baltrum, and Langeoog (quickly accessible by ferry from neighbouring towns). Boredom is unheard of here: a beach resort (admission fee required; dogs allowed in a designated area) with a sandy beach, beach chair rentals, a beach restaurant, an adventure playground, beach volleyball, a surf school, and dike and mudflat hikes.
In Dornumersiel: a heated seawater outdoor pool, exercise pool, tennis courts, horseback riding, bike rentals, a mini-golf course, and a marina. In the holiday town of Nessmersiel, 8 km away, you’ll find the large family indoor play centre “Sturmfrei.” A large indoor water park (“Nordseetherme”) is located in Bensersiel, 9 km away.

A great starting point for numerous excursions (including by bike, thanks to an excellent network of bike paths), such as along the dikes to the charming fishing villages of Norddeich, Nessmersiel, Bensersiel, or Greetsiel; to the picturesque towns of Aurich (29 km), Emden (50 km), or as far as Papenburg (75 km) for a tour of the world-famous Meyer shipyard (where large cruise ships are built, with guided tours available).
