About this property
Ferienhaus Moarhube - Ferienhaus, Dusche, WC
Simply Being—in and with Nature The Moarhube is located in a very special place—in Mariahof, in the heart of the Zirbitzkogel-Grebenzen Nature Park. Here, nature calls the shots, inviting us to immerse ourselves in its rhythm, settle in, and find peace. At over 1,000 meters above sea level, you feel as though you’re above it all when you see the sun peeking out from behind the trees in the morning or enjoy the sunset in the evening while rocking on the covered porch. Winter is especially enchanting—the winter landscape surrounding the vacation home is breathtaking. A sweeping view of the broad valley landscape invites you to relax and unwind. The cottage is primarily heated by a wood-burning stove (there are additional radiators in the bathrooms). When the fire crackles in the stove and gazing into the flames warms your heart, you can let the winter day come to a cozy close. The Moarhube is in a secluded location, accommodates up to 6 people (two bedrooms—one small and one larger), features a cozy living room with a well-equipped kitchen and a beautiful stove, and has a small bathroom with a shower and a separate toilet. You can go skiing at the family-friendly Grebenzen ski area (a 15-minute drive away), at the foot of the Zirbitzkogel near the Tonnerhüttenlift with its Berauf toboggan run (a 25-minute drive away), or at the Kreischberg (a 35-minute drive away). Winter hiking, ice skating, sledding, cross-country skiing, and much more—all of this is possible in the surrounding area. The Gasthof Knappenwirt, known for its excellent regional cuisine, is within walking distance of the Moarhube—breakfast or half-board can also be booked there.
Temporary stays Above all, however, the Moarhube is available to people who want to get away from their everyday lives, even for an extended period. Upon request, I’d be happy to help guide you according to your needs and find the right setting—whether for one-day or multi-day pilgrimage hikes, nature excursions, or nature rituals.

Here, nature calls the shots, inviting us to immerse ourselves in its rhythm, to settle in, and to find peace. At over 1,000 meters above sea level, you feel as though you’re above it all when you feel the dew-wet grass beneath your feet in the morning or enjoy the sunset in the evening while rocking on the covered porch. The vacation home is situated in a secluded location, with the forest behind it and beautifully blooming meadows in front. Part of these meadows can also be used for camping, or simply to sleep directly under the starry sky (tent and camp bed rentals available). Hiking trails start right from the house and lead to idyllic swimming lakes, mountain huts with food service, Styria’s highest castle ruins (Steinschloss), or the waterfall in the Graggerschlucht gorge. The house itself accommodates up to 6 people (two bedrooms), features a cozy living room with a well-equipped kitchen and a beautiful stove, and a small bathroom with a shower and separate toilet. A covered porch with a campfire pit and grill is right next door; here you can also get to know one or two other campers. A small seminar room is also located in the former stable building next door; it is used from time to time between April and October.
