Far away from the stress of everyday life, you’ll enjoy a healthy and undisturbed stay in a light-filled Finnish log cabin, equipped with a fully furnished kitchen, a like-new bathroom, and a modern pellet stove with automatic temperature control.
Because trees emit health-promoting substances known as terpenes, nature’s healing powers have a particularly potent effect in the forest.
We invite people to leave the stress and hustle and bustle of everyday life behind and find peace and relaxation in the seclusion of nature at this wholesome retreat.
Our rental concept combines “forest swimming” with a “digital detox”:
There’s no TV, but there is “forest TV” featuring many different species of birds and squirrels that come to “visit.” There’s no Wi-Fi, but there is peace and quiet, seclusion, and board games. Just in case, you’ll have cell phone reception.
For short and long walks, hiking tours in northern Germany’s largest forest area, or bike tours (bike rentals available in Hitzacker)—from beginners to mountain bikers—you don’t have to walk far or use your car. You start right at your front door.
On the spacious south-facing terrace, you can watch the squirrels and birds while enjoying your morning breakfast.
The region—the Wendland—is known for its biodiversity, the expansive Elbe river landscape, the popular Elbe Bike Path, and great nearby destinations, such as
- the Lüneburg Heath with the Hanseatic city of Lüneburg
- the idyllic little town of Hitzacker (a Kneipp spa town with a spa treatment centre and an island in the old town)
- the Hanseatic city of Hamburg
- the iodine-brine thermal baths in the nearby spa town of Bad Bevensen
- the Göhrde, the largest contiguous forest area in Northern Germany
- to the south, the “Rundling” villages typical of the region.
The cultural highlight every year is the “Kulturelle Landpartie,” which runs from Ascension Day through Pentecost Monday!
Raft trips on the Elbe, nature trails with guided tours, swimming pools (indoor and outdoor), golf and fishing opportunities (on the Elbe and Jeetzel) in the immediate vicinity, a drive along Storchenstrasse, and much more invite you to enjoy a variety of activities.
