About the host
Hosted by Scott Durrah
I’m Scott, a Denver chef, restaurateur, and longtime hospitality professional. And this is my home of 20 years! I have spent most of my life bringing people together through food, conversation, and good service. For me, hosting is personal. I want every guest to feel comfortable, welcomed, and cared for from the moment they arrive.
I love sharing what makes this city special. I enjoy great food, music, travel, family, and creating spaces where people can relax and enjoy each other. Whether guests are here for a wedding weekend, a family visit, a business trip, or a quiet getaway, I want La Casa Vallejo to feel like a private retreat.
As a chef, I believe food is one of the best ways to connect with people. I’m always happy to offer local recommendations, help guests think through a special dinner, or simply make sure they have what they need for a smooth stay.
My hosting style is professional, relaxed, and respectful. I want guests to enjoy the house, the neighborhood, and the city without feeling bothered. La Casa Vallejo is a historic Denver home with a lot of character, and my goal is to make every stay feel easy, comfortable, and memorable.
Why they chose this property
I chose the Highlands because it is one of the best neighborhoods in Denver. It has history, character, beautiful homes, great restaurants, local shops, and a real neighborhood feeling that is hard to find. You are close to downtown, but you still feel like you are in a quiet, established Denver community.
My wife and I have spent 20 in our home and in this neighborhood. And we love it!
What I enjoy most is the mix of old and new. The Highlands has historic streets, mature trees, walkable blocks, and some of the best food and coffee spots in the city. You can have a relaxed morning, walk to breakfast, enjoy the neighborhood, and still be minutes from downtown, sports venues, concerts, museums, and everything Denver has to offer.
For guests, it is the perfect location. It feels peaceful and residential, but it is close to the energy of the city. Families, couples, business travelers, and wedding guests all love being able to stay in a real Denver neighborhood instead of feeling tucked away in a hotel district.
La Casa Vallejo fits the Highlands perfectly. It is historic, warm, welcoming, and full of character. That is what I love about this neighborhood. It gives guests a true Denver
What makes this property unique
La Casa Vallejo is unique because it is more than a place to sleep. It is a historic Denver home with character, warmth, and enough space for people to truly gather. The house has the charm of an older Denver property, but it is set up for modern comfort, family stays, wedding weekends, business travel, and longer visits.
What makes the property stand out is the combination of space, location, and hospitality. Guests can enjoy private bedrooms, comfortable gathering areas, a chef’s kitchen, a third floor retreat, outdoor spaces, a balcony, a rose garden, and a two car garage, all in one of Denver’s best neighborhoods.
The house is also designed for connection. Families can cook together, share meals, relax outside, watch a movie, or spread out when they need quiet time.
