About this property

Buffalo River Glass House · Hot Tub · 28 Acres

NEW TO VRBO, NOT NEW TO GUESTS. Since opening in July 2026 this home has earned 5 out of 5 across its first reviews on other platforms, and our Fort Worth home holds a perfect 5.0 with a guest favorite badge. Guests tell us the same thing every time: the photos do not do it justice.

3,200 sq ft of floor-to-ceiling glass, alone on 28 private acres of Ozark forest with roughly a quarter-mile of privately owned Little Buffalo River frontage. Built by solar architect James Lambeth, this is the house people screenshot: soaring wood ceilings, walls that vanish into the trees, a 4-seat hot tub under a blanket of stars, a fire pit, and private trails to hike or ride your own ATV. Sleeps 10. Minutes to Jasper, Ponca, Steel Creek and the Buffalo National River. A true 1-of-1. Homes like this don't come up.

THE HOUSE: 3,200 square feet on one private hillside. A glass-and-wood great room open to the forest on three sides, full kitchen, dining for the whole group, three bedrooms, two baths, and laundry. Bedroom 1: king plus two twins. Bedroom 2: queen plus twin. Bedroom 3 (loft): bunk bed. Sleeps up to 10.

OUTSIDE: a spacious 4-seat hot tub with massage jets and LED lights, a fire pit, covered porch and decks over the valley, a propane grill, and a telescope for the dark sky. Zero light pollution; the stargazing is unreal. Deer move across the acreage, and walking paths lead down to the river (an easy 5-minute walk, or drive our private trail right to the water). No direct river view from indoors; you are surrounded by forest and mountain in every direction.

OFF-ROADING, HIKING & TRAILS: The 28 acres include private mowed trails winding through the woods, perfect for hiking and mountain biking, or bring your own ATV, UTV, or side-by-side and ride right here on the property. Guests bringing off-road units: a valid driver's license and a signed liability waiver are required, with a limit on units, so just message us to arrange it before your stay.

FAMILIES: outdoor games for game night, including cornhole, a giant Jenga-style stacking tower, ring toss, and a hook-and-ring toss game.

FALL: Come in October for peak foliage. Floor-to-ceiling glass gives you a front-row seat to Ozark fall color without leaving the couch.

THE RIVER: The Little Buffalo runs along the property and rises and falls with the rain — at times it runs low or goes completely dry. Wade or float on-property when it's up, wander the gravel bars when it's low. Bring your own kayaks, tubes, or fishing gear (gear isn't provided); for a bigger float, the Buffalo National River is about 30 minutes away with local outfitters. There is no lifeguard. Swimming, wading, floating, or being on the riverbank is at your own risk, for every guest, not just children. Swim only at the river access where the "swim at your own risk" sign and the life ring are. You assume all risk of water activities, including injury, drowning, and property loss, and you release and hold harmless the Owner and Faith Holdings LLC from any claims arising from use of the river. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times near the water.

GETTING HERE: The last several miles are unpaved county road. The drive in is beautiful, an experience in itself. A truck or SUV is preferred. All wheel drive cars are also fine. Take it slow, especially after rain. Download offline maps before you lose cell signal, and try to arrive before dark. Stock up in Jasper on the way. Harps has groceries and gas. Dollar General is at 405 E Court St. Parthenon has no stores and no gas. The home runs on a private deep well. The water has a light natural mineral character from the limestone. That is part of what makes this place special. Guest house and barn are not included.

What makes this property unique

Main-house stay on 28 private acres with roughly a quarter-mile of privately owned Little Buffalo River frontage along the Little Buffalo River. This is a custom passive-solar glass home designed by James Lambeth, the celebrated University of Arkansas solar architect whose Ozark residences are rarely available to rent — the kind of once-in-a-lifetime stay guests plan months ahead for, with living glass, river sound, and open sky on a private river bend.

The home includes a dramatic glass-and-wood living area oriented to the sun, full kitchen, dining area, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, laundry, hot tub, fire pit area, covered porch, decks/outdoor seating, outdoor propane grill, telescope for stargazing, Hookey ring game, and peaceful wooded views near Jasper. Many guests hear the river from inside the house. The entire property runs on a 300-foot private well; water filters through limestone bluff geology and carries a naturally mineral-rich character.

Wildlife including deer is common on the acreage;Maintained walking paths on the lower property by the creek are great for easy hikes. Buffalo National River float areas are a drive away — the river at the house is the Little Buffalo River.
