After years of searching for the perfect place to eventually retire, Ocala seemed to offer everything we were looking for. I’ve always said I wanted to live “in the middle of nowhere, but only 20 minutes from everything,” and that’s exactly how this neighborhood feels.
It’s quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by nature, yet still convenient to restaurants, shopping, antique stores, entertainment, and everyday necessities. The area is close to several beautiful natural springs where you can picnic, swim, kayak, paddleboard, or spend the day boating.
Outdoor enthusiasts will find miles of bicycling, mountain-biking, and hiking trails throughout the Cross Florida Greenway and the nearby Santos trail system. There are also numerous golf courses, parks, horseback-riding opportunities, and scenic places to explore.
The neighborhood is conveniently located near the World Equestrian Center, Florida Aquatics Swimming & Training—better known as FAST—and many of Ocala’s equestrian events and attractions. Sholom Park, local farmers markets, downtown Ocala, shopping centers, and a variety of restaurants and activities are also within a comfortable drive.
I especially love having so many outdoor activities nearby, while my wife enjoys the shopping, antiques, local events, parks, and other attractions. It gives us the privacy and slower pace we wanted without leaving us isolated—and that combination is what made the neighborhood feel right for us.
