Discover The Roost on Houghton Lake, a family-friendly resort with 100 feet of shoreline. The property features 4 cozy cabins that sleep up to 16 guests. Swim, paddle, play yard games, or relax at “The Porch” with six rocking chairs, all while enjoying Wi-Fi and TVs in every cabin, making your stay both fun and comfortable.


For bookings early in the season (May) and late in the season (October), please note that the cabins do not have a central heating system or insulation. We provide space heaters in each cabin but it may still get cold depending on the weather! If there is severe cold weather (like snow or freezing temperatures), May/October reservations may have to be cancelled to avoid bursting water lines and other adverse affects to the cabins! We recommend researching the Houghton Lake area weather history over several years to make sure the cabins will be a good fit for your group before booking!

This place is an absolute dream!!! Being right on the lake with the privacy of 4 cabins to have your family or friends join you and then be able to all go back to your own space for the night. They had everything and more you could have wanted. We have a 3 year old and a 7 month old and they had pack and plays, high chairs, games, a big play pen for outside. For the adults ping pong, paddle boards, kayaks, fishing poles and so much more. We found this little gem and were so thankful that we were able to enjoy it. We rented a pontoon at good day marina and had a blast on the water. It was right down the road and reasonably priced. The hosts answered everything very quickly and were very helpful with all of our needs. We hope to go back again. Thank you for sharing your beautiful “compound” with us it was absolutely perfect!
