About the host
Hosted by Justin Stevenson
My wife, Tara, and I grew up in Pendleton and still have family and friends in town and the local area. After pursuing formal education in the Willamette Valley in the early 1990's, we landed careers in the valley. I retired in the summer of 2024, and we made a plan to return to our hometown that we both love so much.
We moved back in August 2025 and began an extensive remodel and improvements to this farmhouse/property we bought just outside of Pendleton. The 1,200 sf basement was unfinished and provided a perfect base to build a guest apartment for others to visit and enjoy what the area has to offer. We made the apartment around 800 sf and it is very comfortable with a guest apartment design being made from the start.
We started offering our apartment on short-term rental platforms in August 2026 and it has been busy from the start. We enjoy sharing our home with others needing a place to stay for a few days while they are in the area.
Why they chose this property
We chose this property as we wanted a flat area on the east side of Pendleton but very close to town. We wanted views of the Blue Mountains and the surrounding farm fields- and we just lucked out to have the best sunsets (and sunrises). This is a very private setting with the closest neighbors being over a mile away.
What makes this property unique
With it being a high-quality brand new, short-term rental design on a farm makes our place stand out.
