About this property

Oceanfront 4BR/3BA Single-Family Home



This unique, oceanfront home has 3 bedrooms plus a fourth as a den with door that has a queen sofa bed that can serve as a bedroom . One of the bedrooms has a king bed, one has a recently replaced king bed (with two twin mattresses on a king frame in case you have two kids who don't want to share a mattress). The third bedroom has two twin beds with a night stand in between and a rollaway cot in the closet. There are three full bathrooms, with an open living room with dining room that looks out on the ocean. There is a fun-to-enjoy after beachin' outdoor shower open to the skies above. The location doesn't get any better, just seven houses north of the Sea Colony High-rises and a short walk to downtown Bethany. The house was updated with new hardwood floors, renovated bathrooms, custom decorated window trimming and new coverings, and more for a fresh update.

Sea Colony recreation privileges can be enjoyed with the purchase of weekly activity passes during your stay including indoor and outdoor pools, two fitness centers, indoor and outdoor tennis and basketball, two Jacuzzis, access to varied classes (such as zumba or yoga)and a full gym).

The house has a beachfront deck and screen porch, an outdoor shower, plenty of driveway parking, and Wi-Fi, a perfect place to enjoy Bethany at its best.

Stays between May 1 and September 30 require a Bethany town tax of 7% plus the new 4% Delaware State tax added in 2025 which gets built into the cost and submitted as required by law.

Please note, we do not rent to Senior groups, though we wish them hearty congratulations.

This was an incredible place to stay! Location: SO close to the beach, activities, and nature. Amenities: Wonderfully appointed, with the ability to play pickleball/swim just down the road at beautiful facilities. The owners are so incredibly nice—I can’t wait to return.

Fabulous Location and Comfortable House

This is an incredible location (just steps to the beach) and the house is homey and comfortable. We spent a lot of time on the screened porch, which was great for dinner and board games!

Great beach stay

Lovely property. Being able to wake up every morning and have a coffee on the deck overlooking the beach was priceless. Being able to walk to the beach in about a Minute every day was also priceless. Would definitely come back to the same house!

Perfect long weekend getaway

We loved our stay at Barbara and Alan’s home at Bethany. The location can’t be beat, right on beach, with easy access to the amenities at Sea Colony and the restaurants of downtown Bethany. Barbara was responsive and the place was clean and well appointed. We’ll be back!

The location is perfect - steps from the beach and a short walk to the boardwalk and town amenities. The bedrooms and bathrooms arrangement was a great fit for 4 adults and 2 kids. Kitchen was well stocked for preparing and serving any meal. New grill on the deck was very nice. Lots of beach chairs and heavy duty beach umbrellas was convenient. The outside shower was pleasantly very useful and refreshing. Owners were easy to work with. Bethany Beach has a much more laid back vibe than other neighboring places if that’s what you’re looking for. Golf options were close by. We had a great time!

Awesome location right on the beach

Barbara was super nice and allowed us to stay a little longer to enjoy the amazing weather in November! The house is right on the beach with a deck. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom on the main floor has been remodeled. Some of the furniture is a bit dated but didn’t affect our stay. The main family room has plenty of seating with two sets of sofas. We would definitely stay here again next year.

Location

Absolutely loved every sunrise and walks on the beach. Even in freezing temperatures you can enjoy the sunrise from the house. But we ran out to the beach nonetheless. The house is comfortable for a family. The pool and gym that is available to use was excellent! I would stay again, we were so pleased! We were sad to leave and wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you Barbara and Alan!

Great location, but place in need of repair/refresh

Our stay in this location was very nice. The location couldn't be beat in that it was right on the beach, next to Sea Colony and less than 1/2 a mile from the main town of Bethany (boardwalk area). That said, it was an expensive stay for being off season and the place was in significant need of repair/refresh. Furniture was run down and the place wasn't cleaned well. We expected more.

Spring at beach is beautiful!

The house was great for our family. We fished on the beach. Caught skate and sand shark. Heated outdoor pool at Sea Colony opened midweek. Indoor pool and hot tub at Freeman Fitness Center were awesome. Enjoyed half-price entrees at Off The Hook. Beautiful sunrises observed from house or back deck overlooking the beach. Easy walk to Dunkin Donuts/ Baskin Robbins in one direction or the Boardwalk the other direction for delicious soft serve. Everything you need is close by. Great vacation destination!

Ocean view was spectacular once you climbed to the top of the dunes. We were lucky as the recent stirm did minimal damage the the breakwall. The boardwalk had suffered major damage to the breakwall eroding massive amounts of sand. Other than that weather was great. Perfect autumn weather.

In addition to being right on the beach the location to downtown and the boardwalk was excellent. The house provided exactly what was expected of beach house in Bethany. It was comfortable and welcoming. There was only two of us, but could easily host a large family. Beach toys and accessories were readily available. Parking which is a premium during the high season, provides ample room for several vehicles.

Amazing beach house

Such an easy process renting this property. Informative and enjoyable communication with the owners! And as for the property, it doesn’t get much better than this. Walk out the door and onto the beach. Surf crashing steps away. And the proximity to the town of Bethany is noting short of perfect. A leisurely 5-10 minute walk to the center of town. Everything you need - coffee, pastries, restaurants, books, shops and the Boardwalk. All ready for exploration. We loved our October visit and will be back. Dave & Teresa.

Prime Bethany Location

Solid home with easy beach access. Short walk to the Sea Colony and the Bethany Board Walk. The home is very comfortable and the screened in portion of the deck allows a relaxed view of the dunes and surf— even in the rain. Despite the previous week’s storm surge damage, our beach access was intact. The owners are very supportive and communicate quickly. If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay with easy access to the beach and local attractions in Bethany Beach, you can’t go wrong here.

Our group had a fantastic week at this beach house. The house had a very "home away from home" feel to it. We loved the screened in porch and quick access to the beach. The owner is very helpful and was available to answer any questions we had. I couldn't recommend a better house.

Great Bethany Beach house!

We had a great time at this beautiful beach house! The house is in a great location right on the beach, and a few short blocks to downtown Bethany Beach. We took long walks on the beach and walked to the boardwalk for the cute cafes and restaurants. It is a quiet neighborhood and our kids were able to scooter in the bike lane to downtown. The small private beach area in front of the dune is also nice so parents can relax on the deck while kids play in the sand. The inside decor is peaceful and perfectly beachy, with gorgeous custom woodwork. Highly recommend this house for a fun-filled and relaxing vacation!

The location is perfect, just steps to the ocean & a large deck to sit on & enjoy the views. Communication from the homeowner was efficient & very helpful. Amazing location and visit

We had a wonderful family escape to the beach while juggling work and school during the week. The location cannot be beat! It was wonderful to hit the beach a few times a day for walks and for play. We hope to visit again next year!

Friends Get Together

This was a great house for four long time friends to get together. The layout was good, the outside screened deck was our most popular spot. Wonderful warm weather for early May made the sunrise and beach time perfect. The sound of the ocean, looking out over the dunes, the closeness to town - it was all good!

Wonderful Spring Break

As a military for years, our kids lived in DC and then moved overseas for years. We moved back to Northern Virginia. Our kids had never been to Ocean City, nor Bethany. We let them bring friends and decided to rent this house for our stay. It was absolutely perfect and the rate for the Sea Colony pass was epic at the off season rate of $12/person for the entire week. We played pickleball and worked out every day. The location of this home could not be better with beach access right outside off the back deck. The house was roomy and all four teens were able to have privacy and their own bed. We also were able to separate boy and girl bathrooms, along with our separate master bath. We had everything we needed to make family meals and could easily walk to town to dine out. We felt completely safe letting the kids bike to town. Our son turned eighteen today and there was even tools, and a muffin tray for me to make him cupcakes. Thanks for a wonderful location for our amazing Spring Break. From start (fresh flowers and a hand written note) to a text goodbye, these owners are a class act. Happy Easter!

Every year, since we started coming to Bethany for summer vacation, we spent at least one day looking at beach houses. We came close to buying a Sea Colony unit but really pictured ourselves grilling outside with ocean breezes in the background. In 1992, an agent steered us to the house, and we decided to go forward together with a partner. Avid tennis players, we loved the idea of being on the ocean and also having access to great tennis courts, hard tru as well as indoor courts. The house needed some updating: the first year we more than doubled the deck and made significant changes, opening up walls with windows. Each year, hard to believe how many it has been, we have made some updates...because we love the space and want to keep it a wonderful spot for us and our families

Why they chose this property

Great location, , open family area, screen porch, beach with life guards that is not as crowded as in the downtown area, plenty of parking for friends, cozy and well-equipped kitchen, easy to get to, nearby outlet centers, lots of local playgrounds for the little ones, easy to get to Rehoboth and Ocean City, perfect place to relax, and the list goes on and on.

What makes this property unique

It is truly having the best of both worlds staying in this house, whether in midsummer or in spring or fall. You can access Sea Colony's pools, indoor and outdoor tennis, fitness centers and family social events but you also have the privacy of your own single home, screen porch, oceanfront deck and walkway to the beach. And you can stroll down to the center of Bethany in about 8 minutes, missing out on the need to find a meter and park the car. There are very few homes that offer the option to have it all in Bethany.

To us communication is key, as the reviews have clearly highlighted. Whether questions or small concerns, we are committed to doing what we can to support the small stuff that can contribute to a great vacation.
