"Casa Del Sole," with its sunny 45-square-meter holiday apartment plus an 18-square-meter sun terrace, offers a restful, relaxing holiday with a beautiful and unique view of Lake Maggiore. I had the house completely renovated in 2022–2023, and it meets the latest standards. The apartment features a private entrance and free Wi-Fi throughout. The apartment consists of a bathroom, a hallway, a bedroom with a spacious double bed, and a kitchen-living-dining area that opens onto the spacious terrace and serves as the heart of the apartment. If it gets a bit cooler in the spring and fall, the apartment can be quickly heated with the pellet stove. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, refrigerator, and ceramic cooktop. A traditional coffee maker and an Italian espresso machine are also provided. The house is located 100 metres above the lake in the village of Colmegna, 3 km from Luino.
I am now the third generation to run this holiday home. I spent two years completely renovating and refurbishing everything, and as my mother so beautifully put it: “The house is unrecognizable—it’s awakened from its slumber!”" For me and my family, it has become a very peaceful, cosy place—a second home. I hope you’ll feel just as at home at “Casa Del Sole” as we do.
“Casa Del Sole” is located on the Italian side of Lake Maggiore—3 km from Luino in a small village. The Wednesday market in Luino is legendary, known throughout the region, and always worth a visit. The holiday home, which includes the holiday apartment, is situated 100 metres above the lake. There’s a private parking spot right next to the house, and since the street is a dead end, there’s no car noise or traffic—children can play safely in front of the house.
From the house, you can slip right into your hiking boots and set out on a few short hikes. All other hikes are easily accessible within a 20-minute drive. Our local mountain, Monte Lema, always offers a great view, and the small village of Indemini (right across the Swiss border) is a wonderful starting point. Lugano, Ascona, or Locarno are great options for shopping. If you’d like to drive a bit further, you can reach Milan in 80 minutes and stroll through its pedestrian zones or visit the cathedral.
