Small but nice! The approximately 35 m² studio apartment is located in a picturesque alley in the historic centre of Luino, directly across from the home of the famous Italian writer Piero Chiara. Located on the ground floor of a historic palazzo, “Porta 1” was renovated in 2024 and tastefully furnished; it can be reached either by stairs or conveniently by lift plus 7 steps. Given its location and size, the apartment is the perfect base for a holiday for two, ideal for those who want to drive as little as possible or even travel by train or boat. The approximately 3 m² partially covered balcony offers an interesting view of the alley, the lake, and the famous “Bar Clerici,” which is frequently mentioned in novels and serves as a filming location, particularly for adaptations of novels by Piero Chiara.

Thanks to the apartment’s strategic location, you can immerse yourself directly in Italian life and easily reach shops, bars, and restaurants on foot, as well as the lake with its beautiful lakeside promenade. There you’ll also find the passenger ferry terminal, which connects Luino to the islands of Lake Maggiore and the small lakeside towns in Lombardy, Piedmont, and Switzerland. About 300 metres away is “Serenella” Beach, which has a section with free access and another section with a kiosk where you can rent lounge chairs and umbrellas.
