This lovingly furnished, bright holiday rental on the ground floor of a converted fieldstone barn (built in 1807) combines rustic charm with modern furnishings and comfort. The 40-square-meter living space, featuring a charming bedroom (with a 180-cm-wide bed), a bright shower room with natural light, and a cosy kitchen-diner, invites you to relax and feel at home. The modern built-in kitchen features an oven, a dishwasher, and everything you need for cooking. You can make yourself comfortable on the cosy sofa in front of the wood-burning stove. Or in front of the TV, which has a satellite connection and is also connected to the internet. From the kitchen-living room, you step directly onto your own 20-square-meter terrace (south-facing), which is equipped with a large umbrella and patio furniture. From the terrace, a staircase leads directly to a large lawn, where there is a wooden playhouse for children and a large, covered barbecue/fire pit. Children are also allowed to camp in the garden in front of the terrace.
The standard occupancy for this apartment is two people. The sofa in the kitchen-living room can be converted into a full-size bed (140 cm wide with a slatted frame and cold-foam mattress), making it possible to accommodate up to four people overnight. Alternatively, if available, you can also rent one or both of the other two holiday apartments (Apartments 2 and 3) right next door. You can rent the 38-square-meter common room—which also features a modern built-in kitchen and a wood-burning stove—directly from the landlord.
Dogs are allowed in this apartment. 
Air Conditioning: The building, with its thick rubble-stone walls, is heated by underfloor heating with an air-source heat pump, which is centrally switched to cooling mode when outdoor temperatures are high.



Welcome to the Maijeschhof! Idyllically situated at the foot of Kasselburg Castle, in the heart of the Vulkaneifel, the Maijeschhof—built in 1807—combines country life in the old village centre of Pelm with easy walking access to the town of Gerolstein. Our lovingly renovated former farmhouse offers plenty of space and numerous opportunities for a relaxing holiday. The historic barn houses four charming holiday apartments that combine modern comfort with rustic charm.
Our common room (available for rent directly from the owner only) offers a cosy gathering spot by the wood-burning stove—ideal for cooking together, enjoying coffee, or even holding meetings and seminars. During the warmer months, the sun terrace, garden, and barbecue area invite you to relax. For the adventurous, there’s even the option to camp on our lawn.
Apartment 4 is suitable for people with limited mobility. It is located on the ground floor and is accessible without steps. The shower is also at ground level and equipped with a shower stool and grab bar. The door widths comply with accessibility standards, and there is sufficient space for people with disabilities to move around freely.
Air conditioning: The building, with its thick fieldstone walls, is heated by underfloor heating powered by an air-source heat pump, which automatically switches to cooling mode when outdoor temperatures are high.
Owner Ellen Petry spent a happy childhood here; she purchased the farm in 2021 and now lives in the old farmhouse. She welcomes you personally and is happy to assist you with advice and support.



On-site costs: Note regarding the guest tax: To promote regional tourism, overnight guests staying at lodging facilities in the Gerolstein municipal association have been required to pay a guest fee (local tax) of 0.75 euros per person per night since 01.01.2024.
