Our stay at the house exceeded our expectations: the house was great with a good outdoor space and wonderful pool, which was exactly what we needed to unwind and enjoy time together with family and the kids.
The area was very nice for day trips and visiting markets in neighbouring towns/villages.
I hope we can come back!!

We are a family with 5 kids (between 11-20 years) from Germany. We've spent 2 weeks (July - August 2022) in the house and enjoyed it very much, especially the marvelous pool! We are planning to come back in the near future to spend some more of our holidays there. The owners are extremly kind and helpful!

Splendid holiday house in wonderful surroundings
We have stayed in this house for two weeks with two families (4 adults - 4 children). We had a fantastic time in all of its facets: the house itself is very nice, extremely well equipped (great kitchen, bedrooms, facilities) with a fantastic swimming pool, and the surrounding area is very nice for daytrips and activities (e.g. kano, museums, hikes, wine tasting, etc.). The house is very nicely decorated with spacious bedrooms with air conditioning. We have rented several houses in the past but never encountered such a nice and well equipped one like this.
Furthermore, from the very beginning we had a great contact with the owners of the house; they are very kind, helpful, and correct people. Honestly, this is the first time in all the years we have rented that we would definitely consider to return for our next holidays. We recommend this villa without any hesitation.

Holidaying July 2010
We spent 2 weeks in St Gervais using the holiday home during July 2010. There were 8 members in our party ranging from grandparents down to 3 young grandchildren (ages 7, 5 and 18 months).
All family members had a really wonderful time exploring the local area and relaxing in the beautiful and spacious house.
Whether we were visiting local towns like Uzes or Goudagues (great places for dinner or walking through the markets) to the local vine yards which hosted music evening with food and wine or simply relaxing by the fabulous pool.
I could not recommend the house or the owners enough. The house was perfect, well equipped with everything we needed, with great bathrooms and comfortable bedrooms including A/C which was a great benefit. The owners were the most helpful owners I have encountered in over 7 years of renting properties in the South Of France being both helpful and informative.
This is definitely a place we would go back to and hope to visit again in 2011!!!

Lovely villa, great pool/views, very helpful owner
We stayed here for two weeks in August 2014 (two families - 4 adults and 4 children aged 10 to 14) and it was really great.
The Villa and facilities were excellent - beautiful pool and views and a lovely Villa - the photos do not do it justice.
The location was very good as there is masses to go and see around here - Orange, Avignon, Nimes, the Ardeche and the Camargue all easily within reach. It's in the heart of the Cote du Rhone wine region so plenty of lovely wine at good prices is available.
The Villa is a lovely place to stay when not sight seeing with a fabulous pool, gas Barbecue and good air conditioning.
Andree and Henri were very helpful and accommodating. We would definitely recommend this place.

Geweldig!!!!!!!

Disappointment
The pictures on the website and the reviews looked very promising. But when we arrived at the house, we were very disappointed. The house (interior and exterior) are very out dated. Tiles around the swimming pool were lying loose. The furniture in the house, the beds were very old fashioned and not something you would expect for that price. Also the house needs maintenance. But last, but not least: the bathroom upstairs has a moisture problem. For that reason the two bedrooms adjacent to the bathroom were humid. To sleep in a humid environment with kids is not acceptable, so for that reason we left that same day. Bottomline: price versus quality is not in accordance with each other.

The people who made this comment had evidently other reasons not to stay and they were willing to find an excuse to cancel their commitment.
They arrived earlier than agreed while the cleaning of the house was still going on. They were proposed to enjoy the swimming pool in the meantime: they refused . They did not unload their luggage from their cars and instead, rushed into the house without even saying hello to the ladies who where achieving the cleaning. They argued moisture in a bathroom upstairs and in the adjacent bedrooms: this is ridiculous in the dry climate we enjoy particularly in July and August, with temperatures going up to 35° C, and on top of this all the bedrooms are equipped with individual air conditioning which extracts any excessive moisture if there can be.
They argue loose tiles around the infinity swimming pool while there are no tiles, only a concrete floor …
In fact, this house, with its ground floor totally renovated last year in open space, large new windows, 2 large sliding doors, is very modern and super equipped: heat pump for the house and heating of the infinity swimming pool, air conditioning in each of the 5 bedrooms, 4 large bathrooms: modern, clean and with thermostatic taps for the baths and showers. The fully renovated kitchen has an induction hub, an electric oven, a microwave, a dishwasher. In the laundry room there is a 9 Kg washing machine and a drying machine. In the living room there are 2 large leather sofas, 1 leather arm chair. The table in the dining room is a Canadian antique, so may be their argument of old furniture. All bedrooms are equipped with recent beds.
The pool house has a toilet and an outside shower, 6 deck chairs. There is a large wooden teak table on the terrace with its 8 chairs plus other outdoor furniture including 8 patio chairs, a gas barbecue and a charcoal barbecue.
In the 28 000 sq ft garden there are many entertainment furniture for the kids: swings, tower, slide. For the parents there is a petanque pitch, with petanque balls provided and 4 bicycles.
The two families who left a few hours before these new comers arrived, and who had spent two weeks in the house, wrote the fairly nice comment that they posted on 30-July 2013, as did ALL of the families who stayed in this house over the years and posted reviews ( see all the reviews), some of them coming for the 4th time in row.

Wonderful Holiday with Two Families!
We stayed at St Gervais in July 2012 for 2 weeks. We were two families, with two children each, under the age of 7. We had a wonderful time. The house is terrific and Andre and Henri have done a wonderful main floor/kitchen renovation that was a great surprise when we arrived. The house is very well appointed - you have everything you could need in the kitchen (we cooked quite a bit), a bbq, etc. There is an office area and WIFI throughout. The bedrooms are perfect and two larger bedrooms (both suitable as 'masters' with an ensuite each) are on either side of the upper floor. We loved the house, the pool and the setting - very pretty views from the lovely terrasse. There is room for children to run around and play - including a small swing set and a boules pitch. As city people, we loved the open spaces. Andree and Henri are terrific hosts - very helpful and attentive if and as required. St Gervais is a quiet village but there is much to do in the area - many terrific villages and sites (La Roque sur Ceze, Cornillon, Montclus). As well as many more sites and villages ~20 - 30 minutes away. There is also a wonderful cave just up the hill from the house, Domaine St. Anne that we enjoyed - the best wine of our stay in Provence. We would highly recommend a holiday at St. Gervais - it is quiet and peaceful and thoroughly enjoyable for families.

Wonderful villa made our holiday
There were just four of us (parents, daughter 23 and son 20) but the villa was exactly what we were looking for... spacious, clean, comfortable, finished to a high standard, wi-fi and even with air con in the bedrooms. It provided the space we needed and was very tranquil. Nice views over fields of vines, large outside dining area and a fabulous pitch for petanques. The kitchen is well equipped and fairly new. The infinity pool is excellent - larger than most which means you can swim properly as well as have fun in the water. It was well looked after and always warm! Again, lots of space around the pool. A good gas bbq was provided. The owners are extremely pleasant and welcoming and happy to offer advice on where to go and where to eat. One restaurant recommended to us was La Vieille Fontaine at Cornillon - good food, not too far and with the best dining view in the region! The village of St Gervais is lovely; the couple running the post office/general store are really nice and helpful as is the lady who has started her own small pizza business in the village. The small museum of art in nearby Bagnols s/Ceze is well worth a visit (combine it with a trip to Carrefour supermarket). Uzes, Pont du Gard, caves history, Gorges in the Ardeche etc make for a wide choice of outing. We had a wonderful holiday and would love to return.

Joy in Saint Gervais!
We stayed at Maison Batty for the first time this summer (last two weeks of June) and it was wonderful. The house is superbly equipped and spacious and every bit as lovely as the photos on the website. Even better in fact! We are a couple in our late forties and we took my mother (aged 80) too and the house was perfect for all our needs. Beautiful scenery, fantastic pool, lovely surroundings. Hard to find anything negative to say. The owners were not able to be there when we arrived but had asked their neighbours to welcome us which they did with much kindness and warmth. We then met the owners later on in the holiday - and they are very friendly and kind too. All in all, a truly lovely holiday and we are longing to return and hope to do so next year.
I would recommend the property wholeheartedly to anyone who is looking for peace and quiet and beauty. We visited the area - the vineyards, Avignon, local restaurants, Goudargues, small villages, Orange, Uzes, la Roque sur Ceze - all definitely worth visiting.
The property was spotlessly clean and well-maintained and the pool is a dream!
Thank you very much, Henri Louis and Andree, for sharing your house with us and allowing us to have a very special holiday.

Best house ever
I've been a perennial renter of properties across southern France for the last eight years and this was possibly our best holiday so far. It is certainly the best property we've ever rented in.
Everything from the garden with a beautiful view over the valley with its excellent pool, patio and petanque pitch to the tasteful furnishing and all the practical things in the generously equipped kitchen (I love to cook) to the unusually comfortable beds and bedrooms with pretty decorations, none of it overdone has been created, selected and composed by people with genuine taste.
The point is that Andrée and Henri really know how to live a good life and in an act of ridiculous generosity they let us share the fruits of their endeavors for in my view a rather agreeable fee.
Given the house's close proximity to anything and everything good at Cotes du Rhone, I recommend this house to anyone looking for a perfect holiday.
Thanks for having us!
