Salmon River Waterfront Cottage w/ available 1/2 price boat slip

For those who like to participate in the King Salmon "run" in late summer or fall, enjoy staying right at the mouth of the Salmon River, in a comfortable, cottage on the River's bank, located right in the heart of the action at the Salmon River Lighthouse & Marina. Lake Ontario is nearly on your doorstep where you can watch the charter boat fishing fleet get underway for the deep waters of the Lake in summer and fishing boats pursuing Salmon closer to the Lake's shoreline in the fall. In the river, right in front of you in late August, September and early October, you can see Salmon surfacing and jumping as they run up the River to spawn. Some days are windy, some are calm, many are sunny and some are brisk, but a stay at the Salmon River Lighthouse & Marina will immerse you into the entire experience. In April, May and June, the action begins with Brown or Lake Trout with small mouth bass also present. No matter what the month, or the mix of weather, the fishing is always great, and you will love being on the River, near the Lake with its private sandy beaches, enjoying the many faces and ever-changing moods of Lake Ontario. Directly across the River, accessible by rental kayak or canoe or by POV parking space availability-dependent, is a beautiful NYS Park lakeshore beach, bordered by a rock breakwater protecting the entrance to the harbor. The cottage has a comfortable living room, dining room and fully-equipped kitchen, it has a beautiful view of the river. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom. The 2 bedrooms will sleep as many as 6 total, with a double bed and a twin bed in each bedroom (4 beds total). Boat slips are available at a discounted rate if you choose to bring your own boat, with a new (2015) boat launch ramp available on-site at the Marina. Canoes and kayaks are also available for rent. But you don't need to be a fisherman to enjoy the full experience at the mouth of the Salmon River. The beach and river are breathtaking and beautiful all season long, and are a romantic spot to enjoy while watching all that is happening on, in and around the River.
