DON'T MISS OUR PHOTO & VIDEO TOUR ABOVE!!!!
Casa Paloma has it all! Privacy, a private, heated, ozone treated swimming pool with wading area, large landscaped tropical gardens, and an incredible setting with truly spectacular views of the Nayarit coastline and the surf just below the house! Casa Paloma is one large home with 6 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, and 2 outdoor showers.
Casa Paloma is cleaned and disinfected daily. Our housekeepers routinely clean and disinfect all common surfaces and follow a daily cleaning checklist. Each bathroom and kitchen counter holds a bottle of hand sanitizer. We provide our staff with reusable face masks to protect their health and yours, and we encourage guests to travel with their own PPE (personal protective equipment).
Featuring stunning panoramic ocean views from numerous private patios and terraces, Casa Paloma is an artistic gem equipped with every modern convenience. It is filled with beautiful Mexican Art - original and antique; it has tiled kitchens and bathrooms, a pressurized water system with filtered drinking water, memory foam mattresses, A/C, WiFi, flat screen HD TVs for DVD use, DVD and CD players with iPod connections, plus CD & DVD libraries, 100% cotton sheets, and a very special palapa rooftop garden terrace with exceptional 360 degree views. Maid service is included and a cook, masseuse, yoga, and surf instructors can be provided.
All 6 bedroom suites have their own adjoining bathrooms and every room in the house has ocean or jungle views. In addition to the 6 bedrooms, the house has 3 kitchens and 3 living spaces.
UPPER FLOOR: The upper floor has 2 bedrooms with en suites. Bedroom 1 is a master suite with a king bed or two singles and an ensuite, a flat screen TV (DVDs and streaming capabilities only), a veranda sitting area, and gorgeous ocean views. Bedroom 2 has a private veranda with lush garden views. It has a king bed or two singles and large adjoining bathroom. This section of the house has a full kitchen, living room, and dining area, and an incredible, large veranda running the entire length of the house. From here, truly extraordinary unobstructed 180-degree views of Sayulita Bay, the surf break and the northern coast of the Nayarit Riviera can be viewed. (Sayulita residents and renters have told us this is the best view in all of Sayulita.)
ROOFTOP TERRACE: Another great feature of the upper floor is it's access to the large garden rooftop terrace. It is a furnished palapa living area, complete with hammock, plants, and amazing, breathtaking 360-degree views of the whole of Sayulita, endless ocean, surf and beach, and the surrounding jungle and mountains. This is hands down our favorite view in all of Sayulita. The rooftop terrace is accessed through Bedroom 2.
FIRST FLOOR: The first floor of Casa Paloma has the same incredible ocean views as the upper floor, just not quite as panoramic. It has a very large shaded patio courtyard for outside dining and relaxing and sits in the middle of the private garden. The pool is only a few feet away. In addition to the same basic layout as upstairs, it has a larger living room with 2 couches that can easily be converted to 2 single beds. Bedroom 3 is a master bedroom suite with access to the ocean view patio, a king bed or two singles, and a charming adjoining bathroom. Bedroom 4 has a king bed or two singles and large adjoining bathroom with garden views. (Upon request, we also have 2 pack-n-plays, a high chair, a baby bathtub and folding small junior bed for children.) Bedroom 5 with an adjoining full bath has one of our favorite showers. This beautiful garden bedroom can be set up with three single beds or a king bed and single couch bed and has its own private entrance.
THE CASITA: The third section of Casa Paloma is called The Casita. It is a very special space with a private entrance and stands alone under a massive higuera tree. It has the largest bedroom of the house, Bedroom 6, with a king bed and a beautiful domed ceiling, desk, flat screen TV (DVDs and streaming capabilities only), plus a bathroom, and a small kitchen. From your private veranda, once again, you can enjoy fantastic views of the surf break, ocean, and the hills and town of Sayulita.

We had a great stay at Casa Paloma. We had 6 couples and there was individual Suites for everyone and plenty of gathering spaces for all of us to hang out. It was a quick and easy walk to and from the main part of town and beach.
A spectacular place to stay for a group of old friends
The property is beautiful and the location is terrific. There are excellent views of the ocean and beach, and everything in town is within easy walking distance (as long as you can handle hills). The rooms were very comfortable and there was a lot of high quality common space.
We had a great stay. Breathtaking views from main floor and rooftop patio/bar. Nice big house that worked very well for our group of 10 (5 teenagers and 5 adults). Pool was a bonus. Super easy to get to town. We didn’t rent a golf cart at first but did after a couple of days for convenience and some group members didn’t want to walk up the hill. As we got closer to weekend, you could hear music from town. But worthwhile trade off for being so close to town and the beach. Dora the house keeper/chef was terrific. Kept the house tidy and made a few great breakfasts and dinners for us. Overall terrific property and experience.
Wonderful stay. Great staff. Gorgeos property and house. Great location. Steep hill, so the golf cart was nice!
I recommend their Airport Round Trip Service.
The house was perfect for our family of 13 for a week. Everyone had their own beautiful space to relax in while there was plenty of areas to hang out as a family. Dora spoiled us with cooking our first night meal and several breakfast for us, as well as, keeping the house cleaned for us. The location was perfect for walking to town to the beach, shopping, and dinners. This was my third time visiting Sayulita and now that my adult children have all fell in love with the town too, we will definitely be back and would not hesitate to stay at Casa Paloma again.
Very lovely villa for a family and friends vacation
Dennis, Ernesto, and team were are very helpful with information about the stay. The villa itself was perfect for 7 adults and 2 children - several more adults could have stayed with us and it would have still been very comfortable. The views were magnificent! Dora, the housekeeper, cooked dinner for us one night and it was probably the best meal we had during our stay. Highly recommend this rental!

Our family spent a wonder...
Our family spent a wonderful week in January at Casa Paloma enjoying what is absolutely the finest view of Sayulita Bay. The location is both quiet and private and the house is beautifully furnished and well maintained. The pool is especially inviting. The Duffs and Maru (their manager) make sure that their guests have everything that they need to enjoy and relax in Sayulita. We are already looking forward to a return visit.
The listing photos can't capture how perfect this home is. We stayed with 4 couples and 2 children. Each couple had private space. The rooms were all gorgeous and everyone felt like they had a special room. Ernesto took care of all of our needs. Dora was an amazing cook and her breakfasts made our stay carefree. The location made trips to town and the beach super easy. We can't wait to return!
We had an incredible stay in Sayulita and are so grateful to Dennis, Indigo, Ernesto and Dora for making our stay incredible less than 24 hours after Hurricane Lidia.
The house is gorgeous, well-equipped and minutes from the heart of Sayulita. Daily breakfast on the patio overlooking the beach, yoga on the roof, and a wonderful Saturday lounging around the pool were all incredible moments.
House comfortably sleeps 5-6 couples and was more than enough space to host our friends for an anniversary celebration. If we return to Sayulita with a large group ever again, this is where we'll stay.
Came here for 6 days with our 3 kids and their families. Plenty of room for all of us. Everyone had their own room and bathroom. Spacious, clean and beautiful. Dora, the housekeeper, was wonderful. She cooked 3 fantastic meals for us and did our laundry ($5 a load--laundry room is not open to tenants). Also used their recommended car service from the airport which was prompt and very pleasant. Views are gorgeous. The walk to town is down a path which was easily navigated (my husband and I are in our 70's and we had no problem). The beach is also a very short walk and is great. All in all everyone had a fantastic time!
Beautiful home, incredible view and wonderful location. We opted not to get golf carts this year since getting to town and the beach were so easy. Bedrooms all feel very private except for the one behind the main floor kitchen since it's kind of a pass-through room to the stairs if you're renting the entire house (we had 9 women) - but not a huge issue. Lots of stairs but absolutely worth it for the views. Communication was all easy and we didn't have any issues with the property or services - whole thing felt safe/secure. Would definitely rent again.
Casa Paloma and the wonderful chef Dora are a delight. From large, well air conditioned bedrooms to lots of spaces to tuck away - we enjoyed our stay immensely. Dora made several breakfasts and dinners making the stay easy and delicious. A couple helpful comments. They provide bath towels and pool towels so only need your own if going to beach. Dora comes in daily for a quick bed making and towel pickup if needed ( we did not) The coffee maker takes ground coffee. We hung out on the upper floor the most so if you go to bed early, take a downstairs bedroom. (Your group may choose a different hang out spot) The guide by Dennis is excellent and take advantage of his hints. The massages were excellent. Thank you!

Family from Tucson, Arizona
Terrific accomodations and location. We had 3 families with children (3 children under age 4) and each family basically had there own living area. Property is exactly as advertized. Stunning views with a 3 min. walk to the beach and town. Note: You're close to town so be prepred for a little lively noise on weekends--the locals like to celebrate on Friday and Saturday evenings. Our cook "Ana" who prepared sumptious meals for breakfast and dinner was unbelievable. Property was super clean and obviously well maintained. Although we had a few problems with the pool heater and TV, the owner was very responsive and accomodating. The town has lots of local flair and you really do feel like your in authentic Mexico and not some place like Cabo which feels and behaves like LA. We've already recommended the property to other friends and would stay in this proprty again.
Lovely stay! We loved the house and Sayulita. Dora (house cleaner and chef) and Ernesto (house manager) we’re excellent. Sayulita is so walkable (yes house is on a hill but felt good) and it means the house has three floors of ocean views!
Sayulita was the perfect size. Plenty of restaurants, shopping, beach, and live music in multiple spaces every night.
Four couples stayed at this property with plenty of space. Structure is three beautiful bedrooms with nice windows. Two nice bedrooms with limited windows. One bedroom that is similar to the ones with limited windows but you have to walk through it to get to the rooftop. We choose to leave that one empty. All have bathrooms which is amazing! We loved having three floors of living space because we could all be together or apart.
We wanted to love Casa Paloma, but it did not deliver a good experience. Check in was easy but the house was not thoroughly cleaned. We lost water 2x over the course of a week, which meant no toilets, showers or running water for 8 hours. The housekeeper/cook took all the food she prepared and left us with no leftovers. Our family of 10 was disappointed and. dissatisfied. The owner responded to my feedback but I cannot recommend.

Thank you for the feedback, Karen. I never want any of our renters to have anything other than a fabulous time at Casa Paloma, particularly since our staff bends over backwards to accommodate our guests. We have hundreds of 5-star reviews, so I believe this review is a real anomaly. (I ask future guests to please read them before determining if the review above represents others' experiences.)
The water outage was caused by a first-time-ever accident in our cistern, when the water pump broke on a Sunday morning and our property manager, Ernesto, could not get a repair done until midday. Ernesto immediately contacted a water delivery company from a neighboring town, and had a large truck of water delivered. (A couple of days later, the whole town ran out of water. It was the tail end of the long dry season, and the town was filled to capacity with vacationers.) And relative to our wonderful chef and housekeeper Dora, who cooked dinner for the whole group, we apologize, she will always leave all leftovers in the future.
I have been in the vacation rental business for over 25 years, owning several high-end properties in Mexico and California. 99% of the time our guests rave about our properties and their experience with our staff, some saying it was the best vacation of their life. If even 1% of our guests are not happy, I am more than willing to make it up to them via discounts, refunds or whatever it takes. My goal is to have everyone not just be satisfied, but to have the time of their lives. I did reach out to see if there was anything I could offer you for the inconveniences you experienced, but got no response.
Thank you again, Karen.

Beautiful Mexico!
We stayed at Casa Paloma this past Jan and we had a wonderful time there. When you first walk up the stairs and see that view it literally takes your breath away! Pics dont do it justice. We loved the openness of the homes main areas yet private roooms. One night we had Maria actually cook us a full feast at the house and it ended up being one of our favorite nights!
Totally worth it if you have a group of people! We at local food and got to sample many differnt dishes and ate like kings while listening to relaxing music, drinking our wine and admiring the view. It is so nice how close it is to town and the beach as well. We didnt mind walking into town because it was pretty much the only excersise we got all day! This is NOT a home for small children. This doesnt have the saftety railing for babies or any American safety standards, hello it IS MEXICO after all! :) It IS perfect for older kids on up to adults wanting a relaxing getaway with friends. Beautiful.......

Thanks for your review - so glad you had such a great time. Just wanted to say that we have had numerous families with small children stay at Casa Paloma - including our whole family with grandkids who are currently 5, 6 and 7. We have all enjoyed this house with them since they were infants. You do have to keep a close watch on the younger ones and not take them to the rooftop. I suspect every parent would understand this.

Great house, great location!
This was a great house for my extended family to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday. We had 7 adults and 5 kids under the age of 11. Plenty of space for everyone and a quick walk (or golf cart ride) to town. Ernesto and Dora were wonderful and we were lucky to meet the kind owners of the house as well. One problem that we encountered that was out of everyone's control: Sayulita is blowing up, development-wise. There was loud construction happening on two sides of the house for the entire week we were there. So loud that at one point, it was difficult for us to hear each other while sitting at the outdoor dining table. I'm not sure there is anything that could have been done, but it might be worth asking about this occurring for any future rentals. We also would have loved to have free access to the washer and dryer. Finally, while the house was beautiful and spacious, it is not really kid-friendly for very young children. But overall, we loved our stay here.

Thank you for your 5 star review. We appreciate hearing from our guests and are always looking for ways to improve everyone's vacation experience with us. Yes, Sayulita is completely exploding with growth right now. We are really sorry the noise was disturbing. Unfortunately we do not have control of that. The construction in front of our house was supposed to be completed by December 15th. The good news is our neighbor's remodel is now complete. On another note, our housekeeper Dora offers wash and fold laundry service to guests at just $6.00 a load. We have found that this works best for everyone. As far as being child friendly, we rent this house 95% of the time to large families with children of all ages and have never had any issues. We do have hard tile floors, stairways, balconies and our rooftop terrace really is for adults only. And it is always recommended that toddlers and young children be watched closely. Again, thank you for staying with us and we hope to address all your concerns prior to a future booking. Warmest Regards, Dennis and Joan Duff
Casa Paloma well exceeds expectations, even with the beautiful pics available online. Communication was excellent between us and Ernesto, the property manager. Some things came up here and there throughout the week, but Ernesto took care of everything immediately. Dora, the housekeeper, kept the house in great shape but was by no means intrusive. We chose to have Dora cook breakfast for our group daily, because the first day was so delicious and easy. She’s also adorable. We were concerned before the trip about safety, but we never felt unsafe, either on the property, walking into town, or walking around town. There is a strong presence of locals trying to sell you things on the beach, but they do accept a polite, “no thank you.” The view from the house is unreal. Being able to see the surf break made for constant entertainment. Bluetooth speakers are great, all over the property. We did find a scorpion in a shower, so be careful there. That is just something you have to watch out for apparently in that part of the world. I don’t know what else to say. Our party of ten (5 couples in our late 40’s who have been friends for around 25 years) was just blown away with the house, service, town, and our trip. Ten stars. Highly recommend.
This is the right place to stay if you're going to Sayulita and want to be able to walk to everything. The property itself is fantastic, situated at the end of a secluded street along with several other gated houses. Inside the gate are well-maintained tropical plantings and tiled pathways. The house is perfect for multiple families. While everyone is close, there are four living areas (a bedroom by itself on the ground level, then two bedrooms with living space and kitchen that opens to the patio on the ground level, and again another bedroom with dedicated patio on the first floor and a two-room area with the upstairs kitchen and living space). For us, this was a perfect division across family groups and age groups.
The view from the house, and in particular the 1st floor and the rooftop patio, is fantastic--you can see all of Sayulita's beaches and central markets/restaurants/bars. It sits at the top of a hill, but is only a short walk down a dedicated path to get into town. We found that most everything was easily walking distance, although we did choose to rent a golf cart. I recommend the golf cart partly because it is fun and partly because if you need to go to the bank, for example, it can be a long walk only to find out they have run out of cash at the ATM.
Speaking of cash--expect to pull cash (specifically pesos) frequently, but do pay heed to the advice provided by the owner/staff with respect to which ATMs to use. We found that Google Pay/Apple Pay was accepted at a lot of places like the grocery store and higher-value shops, but food and services tended more towards cash only. Generally vendors will let you pay in dollars or pesos, but the premium on using dollars could be as high as 25% versus the formal exchange rate. So in other words, pull pesos, but be aware that it is common for the ATMs to run out of cash, and that the ATMs also have relatively low per-transaction maximums (though many allow you to just perform multiple transactions).
Back to the house. Great pool, stocked with the appliances and kitchen needs, AC worked perfectly, heated pool, grill with both gas and charcoal, daily cleaning, etc. Easy, as you'd want it on vacation. The staff, both at the property (property manager, housekeeper) as well as for Dennis, are *super* communicative and even more helpful. Easily the best experience I've had in that area, and *way* beyond what I would expect. Superb, and would highly recommend.

About the host
Hosted by Owner/Property Manager
We live most of the time in an area frequently referred to as the northern tip of the wine country in California, just above Napa Valley. We are semi-retired now, but I still manage to keep busy with all my real estate projects, investments and family. We travel quite a bit. We love to ski, hike, scuba dive, surf, bike, boat, ride motorcycles, and hang out in beautiful environments.
Why they chose this property
We already owned a villa in Sayulita, but wanted a larger truly grand property. We looked at everything for months and finally found the ideal Sayulita oceanfront location which afforded phenomenal unobstructed surf views and privacy. Now we could be above the beach and town but just a block away! We had to do an extensive remodel to really create our dream house, but after all the hard work, we could not believe how much we loved our new tropical paradise.
What makes this property unique
We really love the location with unsurpassed panoramic views, the jungle garden surrounding our house, the heated swimming pool, the large collection of antique Mexican art thoughout the house, the great sunsets, the cooling breeze, and watching the surfers below the house. We also love spending time on the roof garden palapa terrace. Here we have 360 degree views of the ocean, mountains, jungle and village below. We watch the surfers, migrating whales and swooping birds, and drink in the huge expanse of the Nayarit coastline. This is where we really kick back and relax and drink in all the beauty that is Sayulita.
