About this property
Thompson Lake! Waterfront log style home sleeps 6
Honey pine walls through the space, cathedral ceilings with ceiling fans. New furniture including sofa bed, chairs and tables! Swim platform located about 30’ from the dock, swim out and relax on the floating platform. No diving please. The depth ranges from 5’-7’ deep depending on the weather and season. Use at you’re own risk. New for 2025 - freshly painted exterior, quartz counters and bathroom, black stainless steel appliances, pots, pans and dinnerware.
67’ of private waterfront on pristine, Thompson Lake, rated a “top 10” lake in Maine, Thompson Lake is in the top 5% of cleanest/clearest lakes in Maine. (It ranks 24 out of 410 lakes). Spring fed lake with views 35’ down, excellent fishing cold/warm species. 4426 acres of peaceful lake to enjoy wildlife such as loons, eagles, moose, etc… Many new upgrades including: new TV's and DVD players (cottage does not have cable/dish tv), high end memory foam/latex beds and linens, wood stove, newly painted themed rooms, fire pit and patio area. Recliners and custom made hickory dining set. 5 minute drive from the Oxford Casino, restaurant and sports pub! Lots of special touches include added up-lighting along the walkway and new crushed stone driveway and 2024 Monument grill to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The property is quiet and relaxing - if you are looking to "party" this isn't the be the best fit. Thompson Lake prides itself on a being different from other lakes like Sebago and Long that tend to attract a rowdier clientele. Come in April or May for top water salmon fishing on the lake or enjoy the full benefits of being on the water in high season June, July and August and September. Nothing beats the New England foliage season topped off with a wood stove or fire pit on cool nights in October. Rent a boat and take in the spectacular foliage from the water along with local treats such as apple picking and pumpkin pies. For those renting the property in months requiring heat, please note the main source of heat is the wood stove. It works very well to maintain a comfortable temperature and space heaters are also provided for supplemental heating if necessary. Please note: July and August rentals are Sat-Sat only.
Located just 2 1/4 hours from Boston & 40 minutes from Portland.
Grill, fire pit, screened porch, open deck and hammock. Amazing sunsets - west facing views. Full kitchen and bath, renovated in 2008 as well as an outdoor, enclosed shower. P
Half acre lot with ~900sqft, 3 bedrooms, sleep sofa and indoor/outdoor sitting/dining.
Great combination of “camp” and “modern home”. Easy drive to restaurants and entertainment. Rent a boat at the marina and visit the many coves and islands on the lake. I provide a kayak, canoe and relaxation station float (use at your own risk). Located directly across from the cottage, visit "The Outpost" by boat for beverages, pizza, ice cream and more! 2016 new docks with picnic area. Great swimming right out front your door! Pet friendly. Discounts available for repeat or multi-week renters.
Please note - the owners pontoon boat will be located on the dock during the season however there is ample room if you want to dock your own boat (22' ) as well as have access to the canoe/kayak from the dock. If you notice I do not have a lot of reviews during the summer its because almost all the prime weeks are reserved by the same guests each year. Owner not responsible for "Acts of God", loss of power or damage due to weather or other natural causes.

About the host

Hi Everyone!
Growing up, I always dreamed of having my own lakefront property and in September, 2014, finally purchased my dream retreat. I live in Boston and my family has roots in New England going back to the 1700's. I'm an avid fisherman and love being out on the water or relaxing on the deck with family and friends.

Why they chose this property
This cottage is a great mix of camp and modern home. It offers the amenities to live comfortably without being high maintenance. The open concept floor plan, ability to sleep 8 with the sofa bed and seat 12+ inside and out gives you plenty of space to entertain and enjoy time with your crew. The views are amazing from your private deck, porch and dock. The location is great and quiet on a side road but only minutes to the casino and area shops and restaurants. With all the new upgrades, once you stay once, I know you will be coming back!
What makes this property unique
The private deck and screened porch overlooking the lake offer views of sunsets and eagles. These spaces along with the yard and fire pit overlooking the water are truly my favorite areas of the home, I hope you agree. An extra outdoor shower is an added bonus and a favorite with kids and pets. "Custom" rooms - "marina", "lodge" and "timber" with special touches and themes. New docks, April, 2016!
