The next best thing to one's own Kenya beach house

As a frequent traveller to Kenya since more than 20 years ago, I have usually spent some days resting at the coast after each safari. Our stay at Sunset Villa definitely wins hands down compared to any coastal resort. All the usual hotel services are provided, including cooking, but with a degree of hassle-free privacy and laid-back atmosphere I have never enjoyed at any beach resort. The pool is great, and the secluded beach at the creek is just a five minute walk from the house. George and Marguerite Gerst deserve my congratulations for creating this little piece of paradise, and I wish to thank Muramba, Saidi, Kazungu and the askaris for taking such good care of me and my family during our stay. Sunset Villa is the next best thing to having your own beach property in Kenya. No doubt we will be back. For prospective guests, and just as additional advice, renting a car will make the most of your stay since it will allow you to make great day trips from Kilifi (Mombasa, Malindi, Gedi ruins, Arabuko Sokoke Forest...). A 4x4 is not a must, but it is preferrable. And while in Kilifi do not miss the pizzas at Makuti Villas Resort, delicious stuff, just a ten minute drive from the house.

"Nous avons passé 10 jour...

"Nous avons passé 10 jours extraordinaires au Kenya, tout était génial : la villa que nous avions louée, les balades en tuk-tuk, les plats du cuisinier Muramba, les noix de coco fraîches, les mangues, le marché de Kilifi, les baignades dans la piscine et dans la mer, le safari (organisé avec l’aide de Muramba), les animaux qu''on a vus, la plongée, la visite du village de Muramba, de l''école... Bref, on rêve encore du Kenya et on garde des images plein la tête !!! Merci à Mr et Mme Gerst pour leur accueil, leur gentillesse et à Muramba et aux autres qui nous ont permis de passer un séjour inoubliable ! "

"We enjoyed staying in Su...

"We enjoyed staying in Sunset Villas very much. Saidi showed himself as high level cook and manager and gave us even more assistance than we expected. All the stuff including Salim, Muramba were very kind. The villa and swimming pool was cleaned every day, the meal prepared by Saidi was perfect. Thank you!!!"

"Maison fonctionnelle dans un magnifique jardin à quelques pas de plusieurs petites plages de sable entourées de palétuviers sur la Kilifi Creek ( grand bras de mer entrant dans les terres), le personnel est chaleureux, serviable et efficace dans l’organisation du séjour, nous avons explorés avec le canoë et Saïd nous a emmené avec le bateau à moteur visiter l’île aux oiseaux au coucher du soleil, époustouflant ! Endroit idéal au repos, à la contemplation, et découverte de la vie Africaine des villages. Je peux que conseiller cet endroit authentique et unique "
