Two Bedroom Condo in one of the best locations in Girdwood, fantastic view, SLOPESIDE at Alyeska Ski Resort & walking distance to multiple attractions. Two levels, granite counters, 2 bedrooms with king beds and an additional loft bed best suited for a child to use. Large sectional couch can accommodate additional younger guests with approval. You will love the view of the resort from the main level deck and master bedroom window. You can't find a better spot than the ROOF TOP balcony to spend the day enjoying the Chugach Mountains. Upstairs the master bedroom has a king size memory foam bed and 2 cozy chairs to sit in and enjoy the view. The second bedroom also has a king size memory foam bed and the additional sleeping loft. Downstairs the living room has a gas fireplace to keep things cozy; enjoy the huge sectional couch after a long day of skiing, hiking, biking or fishing. The mountain is right out your door. You don't need to go far to experience Alaska from here. Amenities include: High Speed Internet, 3 flat screens, fully equipped kitchen, Two Decks, Gas Fireplace, common area coin op washer dryer.

Please note that the bathroom and bedrooms are upstairs via the spiral staircase, and the loft is only accessible via a ladder. The unit is not toddler or baby "proofed" and is not recommended for mobile infants or toddlers except with owner review.

Perfectly Appointed Condo in Perfect Location

We were so very pleased with all aspects of this rental! Dan was very responsive and helpful in making sure our trip to Girdwood was a fantastic one. Condo was impeccably clean and had every ammenity we could have possibly needed. Beds are comfy, fans are provided in each room, and we can’t say enough how convenient and beautiful the location is. This was our first VRBO experience and it certainly won’t be our last. We will be looking to book this condo again when we return to the area 😁

Great location to explore the area

Communication with the hosts (Daniel and Kim) were exceptional from beginning to end. The unit is very clean and well appointed. As described this is a second floor unit and there is a spiral staircase and the bathroom is upstairs. If you are physically challenged this will most likely not be appropriate for you. Linens/towels were lovely and enough for our needs without hitting the on-site laundry room. Plenty of closet (with hangars!) and drawer space for longer stays. Photos online are as found in the unit. We enjoyed the rooftop patio-especially late evening for a drink and snack and early morning for coffee. Easy walk to several spots for coffee or dinner. We enjoyed a quick drive for dessert at the Double Musky. If you are looking for a central location for day-tripping, want clean accommodations with responsive hosts in a quirky resort town this is the spot for you.

Family Summer Holiday in AK

We spent four nights as a family of four. The apartment worked great, good set up for our kids 16 and 10. Place was super clean and well equipped, owners are incredibly responsive. We used the kitchen daily for breakfast (bought groceries in Anchorage), although the bakery next door was tempting! Location is perfect to set out on daily hikes on the mountain, easy walk to the hotel/resort for other activities. Highly recommend, would absolutely stay again. Building is a bit worn on the outside, look past it, no issue.

Alaska Vacation in June

Gave this place a 4 out of 5 stars as we were disappointed about a couple of things. First off, there must be a very small hot water heater because there was never enough hot water for 3 people to take quick showers. The 3rd person always ended up with very cold water. Second, there was a horrible odor under kitchen sink that after about the 2nd day my husband cleaned everything out and found a pan under sink that was catching water from leak in pipe and after sitting in pan the dirty water smelled bad. Third, we could never figure out how to get the gas fireplace on, no switch, etc, that we could find and it would have been nice because it was a very chilly week. None of these issues ruined our trip. The overall cleanliness of the condo was perfect!

Sweet little condo with mountain views

My husband and I stayed three nights in Dan's Alyeska condo and enjoyed it very much. The condo itself is updated with expansive views of the mountains from the living area on the main floor, the main bedroom on the second floor and, of course, the roof top terrace. It had a nice, well-equipped kitchen and comfortable living area. It also had a cute bedroom for kids, with bunk beds and a loft sleeping area, which we did not make use of. Things to note for future renters--the bedrooms are located up a sturdy spiral staircase, as is the only bathroom (with a whirlpool tub, I might add); the roof top terrace is also accessible through this level and is a large area shared with another condo. The only negatives I can think of is that the exterior of the building looks a little worn, but I imagine the the winters there are pretty hard on the paint and decking. The one other thing was that the pay washer in the lowest floor of the building (one of the reasons why we stayed there, so that we could wash clothes on an extended vacation), has a "load sensing" feature that did not function properly. I put in 3/4 of a load of clothes and it only filled about 1/4 of the way that it should, leaving us to cart extra water down there to fill it up to the point where it wouldn't damage our clothes. That's something that should be brought to the attention of the maintenance people of the building. Dan, our host, was very receptive and helpful with questions and prompt in sending us the information in how to access the building and condo. And the condo was very clean, something that's important to me. Overall, I would definitely recommend the Slopeside Condo if staying in the Girdwood/Anchorage area!

We very much enjoyed our stay! The condominium is in very good condition and clean! We had everything we needed in terms of amenities including the fans (we had some warm weather). This was my first Home Away stay and it was simple with very good directions on locating the condominium and the key access. We loved the close proximity to the mountain and the Bake Shop! The roof-top deck was also a plus to enjoy the fresh mountain air and sunshine. I just wish we could have stayed longer! Next time!

Perfect accomodations

This condo was a fantastic place to stay for our weekend in Girdwood. The place was clean and had everything we needed and then some, including a few rams as the weather was WARM!!! Have to imagine it would be the ideal place to stay in the winter for ski season with perfect views of the resort and a chair lift right out the back door. Not too far a walk from restaurants, the mercantile, and Jack Sprats is right out the side door. Dan and Kim were accommodating and easy to work with and we will definitely look to stay again when we get back to Alaska. Did my pass up on this condo if it’s available.

Lovely on the inside

This unit was perfect for my friend and I. We stayed here in October, which is off season, so it was quiet. The home is nicely appointed. Beds are big and super comfortable. No bathroom on the lower level, which did not bother us, but took some getting used to. Full kitchen, great location. Don't let the outside of the building discourage you. The building itself does not reflect the lovely, haven inside.

Perfect Location

We recently stayed at this property and found it a perfect location for our Alaska adventure. It was close enough to Anchorage for biking and sight-seeing/shopping. The drive from the airport was beautiful, easy to catch train in Girdwood to visit Seward, and lovely local restaurants. Dan suggested some activities in the area, several of which we tried and enjoyed. The condo was clean, comfortable, and well furnished. Can't wait return sometime and explore more of this beautiful state.

What a treat! We arrived late at night and slept so great in the very comfortable king bed! Opening the shades in the morning to the beautiful view! A beautiful location

This is the second time I have stayed here and on both occasions I spent the better part of a month. The unit is close to great hiking and dining and most of the time it is a very quiet place to hang your hat and to base your trips out of. Also, Dan is always helpful and easy to contact with question.

Loved the condo and area so much that we hated to leave

We recently stayed at this condo and loved the location and convenience of it! It is a short walk to very good restaurants and the ski slopes. This condo was immaculately clean, neatly decorated and the kitchen was fully stocked. The Upstairs TV's did not have cable access, but you could stream Netflix if you had a laptop. That was not a problem for us at all, as we did not come to Alaska to watch TV in bed! We came for the sights and scenery all around!! There are so many beautiful trails and so much to do outdoors. Out of our week long stay, it got up to 75 1 day, and we used the fans and opened windows to keep it cool when we were there at night. It never got hot at all, and we never missed the AC. We plan to return to this condo in the winter for skiing/snow fun. I can only imagine how much fun this area is during the busy season!! For us, Girdwood is the perfect spot, since it is centrally located to everything we like to do!! I do not think you can find a better condo anywhere else in Girdwood!!

Great location; Quality stay with nice amenities and views.

I don't normally write reviews but in this case I am for those who are like me - you are hoping to get an inside scoop on whether this is the right place. When I travel I prefer 3 star and better so I was happy with this condo. It is located in a beautiful area with easy access to the Kenai Peninsula, Whittier, and Anchorage. The condo can easily fit a couple with 4 children or 6 adults (2 sharing a double bed in the master bedroom). The bathroom is nice with good shower pressure and all sleeping quarters are upstairs. There is a nice large TV and fireplace downstairs (although we never turned on the fireplace - Alaska is nice in July/August!) as well as a full kitchen. We all loved the large and comfortable sofa. We enjoyed the view off the downstairs balcony and even saw a mama bear with 3 cubs on our last day. The only suggestion I have for the owners is to put a screen on the upstairs window because it was very warm at night and you don't want mosquitoes in the room. I imagine though that it is rare to have such warm evenings in Alaska so normally this is probably not a problem. This condo was perfect for our stay - a big thanks to the owners for making such a nice place affordable.

Perfect for Us

My wife and I enjoyed our vacation staying at the Girdwood Slopeside Condo. To save money on food we stopped at Costco in Anchorage and stocked on on food. The kitchen at the condo is well stocked. The condo is right at the foot of a ski slope. During our stay we saw numerous black bears right from the balcony. Don't worry! These bears seem weary of humans. There is a wonderful comfortable pit-group couch in the living room to rest on after hiking all day. If you want to go on excursion for the day I recommend the 26 Glacier Cruise out of Whittier which is not too far away from the condo. The owner Dan was also very helpful answering any questions I had about the condo and about things to do in the area.

A Great Place to Stay

The unit was spacious and very clean. Access to the mountain with its great bike and trail system was exactly as the owner described. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone....esp. if you prefer to leave your car in the parking lot and hike/cycle/stroll in a beautiful location. I will stay here again.

Dan and Kim have lived in Alaska since 2000 when they were lucky enough to have the Air Force station them in the Great Land. The first thing they did after buying their first home was to get a condo in Girdwood. They love to ski with their 3 children and watch them race in the Alyeska Ski Club. When not skiing they love to spend time in Girdwood, hiking, biking and enjoying outdoors.

Why they chose this property

We bought and remodeled this condo to take advantage of the slopeside location, the spectacular views and the unique rooftop balcony. It provides the space and comfort needed for our family and all the ski gear that goes along with having a family of skiers.

What makes this property unique

When the weather is nice, you can't find a better spot than the roof top balcony. The views of the surrounding Chugach Mountains will take your breath away!
If the weather isn't perfect you will still enjoy keeping warm by one of the fireplaces while gazing out the windows at the mountains. You are steps away from fabulous hiking, biking, skiing, dining and night life, so don't forget to get out and go experience Alaska.
