Rural French Idyll With Private Pool Perfect For Families and Groups of Friends

La Tavellerie is a large 19th century stone farmhouse set in the rolling hills of the Vendee Bocage in Western France. It has 5 large bedrooms and 4 bathrooms and comfortably sleeps 13. The house sits in 3 hectares of land which includes an orchard, gardens, a small wood and meadows. It is beautiful and peaceful year-round, and is a lovely place to spend time with friends and family. In the colder months enjoy blazing log fires in the living room and crisp country walks. In summer, laze by the 12m pool, eat outdoors under the large trees in the heat of the day, and on the beautiful south facing stone terrace in the evening. The night sky is wonderful here, and we have a good amateur telescope which you are welcome to use. At all times of the year kids love to make camps in the small wood. We are also a convenient base for visiting Puy du Fou and the Vendee beaches. This is the perfect place to get away from it all and enjoy the beauty of the natural world.

Wonderful week

We had an absolutely delightful week at La Tavellerie! The house is stunning, and the gardens are beautiful —the nicest place we've ever stayed! We were fortunate to have a heatwave all week, which allowed us to fully enjoy the pool and spend all our time outdoors. Having visited the area before, it was wonderful to revisit our favourite spots, particularly La Morliere, a fantastic restaurant with breathtaking views. Clarissa was fantastic, responding to us promptly, and Jean, what a lovely gentleman! We wholeheartedly recommend this property :)

Nous avons passé une très bonne semaine en famille dans cette belle maison pleine de charme avec son très beau jardin. Calme et sérénité au programme. Dommage, le soleil ne s'est pas beaucoup invité pendant notre séjour. Heureusement, les jeux nous ont fait passer de très bons moments tous ensemble. Petit bémol, le chauffage pas au top, nous avons eu froid. Nous étions les premiers locataires pour l'ouverture de la saison. 2 jours de soleil, nous n'avons pas pu profiter de la piscine car pas nettoyée. Sinon dans l'ensemble une semaine agréable.

La tranquillité dans un Magnifique espace paysager

Ancienne gentilhommière , dans un immense espace paysager, où règne le calme et la tranquillité. L'espace piscine entourée d'une magnifique végétation, est propice au repos. Très bien situé, pour découvrir la région aux alentours. Une voiture est bien évidemment nécessaire. A environ 35 mn du Parc du Puy du Fou ( Très conseillé). Très bon accueil, avec des personnes très joignables et à votre disposition. Adresse à conseiller.

The property was excellent and had lots of facilities. Thoroughly enjoyed the pool. It was a peaceful place to be and would recommend. We felt very welcome there. Thank you. The house has internet but not in all rooms due to the distance from router and as an old house has thick walls.

70th Birthday treat

My family descended upon the villa from various directions and all agreed that it was a very beautiful place to stay. There was enough space for 6 adults and 4 young children to be in the house but apart. The kitchen area is huge and if you like cooking its pretty perfect. The outside dining area is brilliant, especially when you work out where the light switch is. Breakfast around the large table was chaos but great. Outside the many acres meant plenty of room to wander as well as adventure for the young children. The "barn" was fun for adults as well as a playground for tractor driving 4 years old. It was hot so the pool became a very welcome essential. It has been well designed with steps and ledges in all the right places. I could tell more but La Caillere is a brilliant place to stay with a family. I highly recommend it

Maison très agréable pour un séjour entre amis.

Nous étions 9 amis de longue date à nous retrouver pour visiter la Vendée. Nous avons bénéficie d'un temps superbe qui nous a permis de profiter de la piscine, très agréable pour faire des longueurs et se reposer autour au retour de nos excursions. Nous avons pu naviguer sur le marais poitevin, marcher à Vouvant et Mervent, visiter le parc du Puy du Fou, l'abbaye de Nieul sur l'Autise, la maison natale de Clémence au à la Mouillerons en Pareds ... Le soir, nous avons profité des longues soirées, du barbecue et du très beau jardin de Clarissa. Merveilleux séjour !

Perfect holiday

A beautiful old french farmhouse full of charm and character. There was everything needed to make this a wonderful holiday for 3 generations. The swimming pool was the perfect place for hot afternoons and the games barn hosted daily table tennis tournaments. The woods were ideal for games of hide and seek and evening meals were enjoyed on the lovely terrace. We couldn’t find fault with this magical property.

We spent five days in this wonderful house. We were 6 adults with 6 young childtren. The house has kept its traditionnal beauty and charm but it is very comfortable even in cold winter. The surroundings are very nice and you can visit several places full of interest.
