Old West Charm: A Place Where One Can Breath and Feel Free!
Meeteetse-- Native American word for "Where the Chiefs Meet"
Stay in a historic Western town that holds a storied past of infamous outlaws like Butch Cassidy and Billy the Kid. Visit the watering hole, " The Cowboy Bar," where Cassidy was once arrested and meet wonderful people who still embrace the life style and freedom of the Wild, Wild West!
Just a three minute walk from your "home away from home" is the heart of Meeteetse. Founded in 1890, and still frozen in time with wooden sidewalks, hitching rails, a couple of old cowboy saloons with excellent food and friends, a mercantile, an old fashion ice cream parlor, a 120 plus year old historic bank, a well-known chocolatier, a historic museum that teaches one about the wild, wild west, Native American history, early settler life, as well as the multitude of wildlife that canvases the land is what awaits you.
If not enjoying a great meal at one of the saloons, there is a new butcher shop in town where you can purchase locally raised meats and then cook at your relaxing cabin, eat outside by your fire pit, and wait for the deer or elk to appear in the yard,
When feeling the need for a little pampering after a day of experiencing the wild, wild, west and its beauty and wildlife, a massage and yoga studio awaits you at the corner square.
Artist Vic Payne fell in love with the old town and its historic buildings and opened one of his high end art studios that is an experience in itself. His famous life size bronze sculptures are a must see.
All of this is located just a couple of minutes walk from your 3 bedroom, 2 bath cabin where you will instantly feel at home!
Of course a plus is that Cody Wyoming, the gateway to Yellowstone National Park, is just 30 miles south. The drive to Cody is a wonderful experience where bear, prong horn antelope, mule deer, white tailed deer, and elk are often visible.
In addition, you will not be disappointed to excursions north, east or west either! Be sure to allow yourself enough days to check out the Big Horns, Ten Sleep, The Grey Bull River, The Wind River, Jacks' Creek and Kirwin (a Ghost Town that is an amazing experience). Much to do-Awaits You!!

My wife thought the house was beautiful owner gets right back with you to answer any questions. Very clean and very rustic mountain feel will definitely be booking again.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The cabin was very comfortable, quiet, and had everything we needed. We loved the location and enjoyed sitting on the front porch in the morning with coffee while watching deer in the yard. Meeteetse is a cute little town and a great home base for a visit to the area.

This was great space for our family when we came to intern our mom at Riverside. Our mom was born here so it was a wonderful way to say goodbye. The house was well stocked, clean and comfortable. Thank you !
Property was as described in the listing. Very nice location and loved the layout. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again if we come back to the area.
This is a great place to stay if you are truly wanting a place to kick back and relax. You will enjoy the porch where you can soak up the morning sunrises and evening sunsets. This was definitely a great experience and look to going back again soon.
We had a great and memorable vacation in Wyoming. Our experience with this property could not have been better. The whole process went well. The home is really nice. We would gladly stay there again.
Property was spotless! Perfect location for a peaceful vacation. Loved feeding the birds/mule deer/turkeys that would come in the front yard! Would
Definitely come back if we’re in the area
Stayed for a week of pronghorn hunting. The house is excellent, clean, very well furnished, and it seems like the owner has thought of everything to make you stay a perfect one. I highly recommend staying here if your in the Meeteetse area, you won't regret it!
House was super clean and well stocked. The porch and seating on the porch was wonderful in the mornings. The deer, turkeys, cranes, magpies and nearby horses were so fun to hear and see. So peaceful!
Stayed here for thanksgiving while visiting family. Very comfortable & quiet. Wildlife could be seen in the morning while sitting on porch drinking coffee. Quiet area and would highly recommend. Very clean and beds are very comfortable. Lacked for nothing while we stayed. Thank you
If you are hoping to do things in Meetetese, think again. The Cabin was so Amazing. It was a great place to stay to go to Teton mountains and then go the other way toward Cody to hit East entrance of Yellowstone. We saw some great wildlife at the Cabin- birds and mule deer.
This is one of nicest VRBO properties we’ve stayed at. Very clean and the kitchen had everything we needed.
The only warning I have is to be sure you have the keys with you if you step outside. The deadbolt locks itself after a few minutes.
The stay was amazing! It was super convenient for the event we were attending and the owner let us check in a little early. The front patio was so nice in the morning with the deer and horses.
The only issue was we tried to cook something in the oven and it started smoking. Both the oven and the grill could use a good cleaning.
Even with that minor issue….I would recommend this place. Thank you!

The cabin is nice the housekeeping is lousy. Owner worked with us slightly when we were damaged by a freak hail storm in SD and caused a two day delay in checking in. So she gave us one day extra would have given two but it didn't work on her schedule or ours, but gave us no refund for the other day lost. Wildlife is awesome in Meteetse.

Disappointed
We were told there was a large gravel parking area we had trucks and trailer when we got there heavy equipment was parked in the are we arrived the grass needed mowed owner said he would get it done we left 5 days later and it still wasn’t mowed we had 3 couples and you had to walk through one bedroom to get to the other bedroom I asked why that wasn’t mentioned he told me I didn’t ask. And one of the beds was broke when we got there.

I addressed and answered every question Barbara had. The grass couldn’t be mowed because they had trailers parked all over the yard and not in the parking area along the road which is very big and it’s also at the end of the road. Try to make people happy but some you just can’t. If anyone has questions before they rent please ask. Thank you
