About this property
Gorgeous Custom Log Home w Amazing Views, Two Saunas, Hot Tub and Cold Plunge!
Welcome to the Blue River Lodge! This luxurious custom-crafted log home is a rare find complete with a 7-person hot tub, indoor and outdoor saunas, cold plunge (summer only), steam shower, pool table, authentic tipi, multi-level decks (and separate private deck for the master bedroom), two outdoor patios, spacious two-car heated garage and plenty of outdoor parking, big screen TVs in family room and bunk room for watching your favorite sports and movies (and a TV in master and guest BR), wireless high-speed broadband (great for remote working and video calls), acreage, forest and mountain views, and more. The outdoor barrel sauna is in the "spa area" and heated with a woodstove is truly unique and rare to find in a rental home. The cold plunge (available in summer only) holds up to 3 people and is located next to the sauna. The cold plunge has been a great addition to the "spa area" and is loved by those who are into cold-plunging! The dining room has a chairlift (Pallavacini chair retired from A-Basin) at the head of the dining table! Enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktail in the original gondola from Vail ski resort - fully restored, heated, dimmable lights - located on our front deck! If you are looking for a true Colorado log cabin (more like a lodge than a cabin) in the woods yet want to pamper yourself with the comforts of a luxury spa (and only 10 minutes to skiing and the town of Breckenridge), this is it!
PLEASE READ OUR REVIEWS - YOU WILL SEE THAT WE TAKE GREAT PRIDE IN THE LEVEL OF ACCOMMODATION PROVIDED, ATTENTION TO DETAIL SUCH AS QUALITY OF BED LINENS, KITCHEN FURNISHINGS, CLEANLINESS, ETC., AND WE QUICKLY RESPOND TO ANY QUESTIONS PRIOR TO, AND DURING YOUR STAY.
The spacious living areas include a large great room (living/dining/kitchen), huge master bedroom (King size bed), two guest bedrooms (each with King bed), an oversized bunk room that sleeps up to 6 (two full-size bunks and four single-size bunks, all built-in) and three very spacious full baths to comfortably accommodate three or four couples or families with children. With top of the line furnishings, a fully-equipped gourmet kitchen, custom bar, high-quality Egyptian cotton sheets, down comforters and pillows, and plenty of living space, you will feel like a guest in a private lodge rather than a tourist in a rental property. Whether you want to relax under the stars in the hot tub after a day of skiing, curl up next to the woodstove with a good book, snowshoe out the back door (6 sets of snowshoes are provided), take a sauna or steam, or shoot a game of pool, this house has everything you need for a perfect Colorado mountain vacation.
Other amenities include DirecTV Stream, high-speed wireless broadband (great for remote working and Zoom calls), wood stove in living room, gas fireplace in family room, very large 'mudroom' for boots (with a boot heater) and jackets, and even an authentic Tipi.
Picture windows and two large decks offer magnificent views in every direction! Front deck looks into mountain peaks and rear deck faces National Forest. Secluded from view from other houses, the Blue River Lodge is nestled in Aspen and Pine, borders National Forest, ten minutes from Breckenridge with quick access to the ski areas of Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper, A-Basin and Vail. The Blue River Lodge is also close to world class golfing, shopping, back-country trails for hiking and biking, rafting, and gold medal flyfishing. Please note that our driveway is professionally plowed each time it snows but a 4WD vehicle is still required in winter (not just for our driveway but for driving in general in Colorado during the winter season - Colorado has laws requiring either 4WD or chains during storms).
Please reviews from prior guests and you will see that they often comment that this home is one of the finest properties available in Breckenridge. Please contact us for a rate quote as sometimes we have flexibility and rates can vary depending on the season and size of your group. On occasion we may be willing to waive a nightly minimum to fill in gaps on our calendar. Please also feel free to contact us with any questions, if you would like additional photos, prior guest references or more information. Most of our guests are repeat customers so we recommend booking well in advance.

The house was amazing and they had everything we could have wanted. The hot tub and cold plunge was awesome. Lots and lots of games. And we saw a bear. Would definitely stay again. Very easy to contact owners.
We had an amazing experience with family and friends at the cabin. The cabin offered many excellent amenities. The location is perfect. The host was very attentive to our needs. We definitely recommend this cabin. We are looking forward to go back.

My family truly enjoyed staying at this clean and private cabin. Beautiful property with so much for our family to do, both indoors and outdoors. And Chris was always available, both before and during our stay, with answers to our questions or recommendations when we needed them. A great vacation cabin that we will look forward to returning.
Absolutely amazing cabin, has anything you can think of. Special thank you for barrel sauna, we enjoyed it a lot! Chris was very helpful. We definitely recommend this cabin to anyone!

Thanks Val! Glad you enjoyed the barrel sauna. We thought adding a touch of Scandinavia would be a good addition (it's new for 22/23) - a hot sauna is so nice after a day of skiing.

Great cabin south of Breckenridge
The cabin is well appointed and in a good location about 10 minutes outside of Breckenridge. The spa features are exactly what we needed after a long day of skiing. It's one of the best VRBO's I've rented and I highly recommend you consider it. The owner is responsive and it was a pleasant experience.

Loved the property and all that came with the house! Kids loved the hot tub and exploring in the woods behind the home! It was nice to stay on the outskirts of Breck but still conveniently located to get into town easily. Also close to many 14ners. Chris was a great help as well and a great host!

We have stayed in Breck numerous times. We loved this property and even had the pleasure of having a glass of wine with the owner. It is a private location fairly close to town but secluded to avoid the crowds. We also saw a Pine Marten which we heard was rare. I would most definitely go back! Loved it.

Adria,
Pleasure to meet you and your husband and thanks for sending the video of the Pine Marten. They are indeed very rare - you were lucky to see one!!

We had a great weeklong stay and really enjoyed this cabin. It's very private even though other houses are nearby. The house itself was awesome with large bedrooms and a private top floor loft with a king size bed. We also really enjoyed the large hot tub on the upstairs deck. The outside area was so peaceful and scenic and was one of our favorite features. Overall and great house and we would definitely stay again.

We had such an incredible time at this home. We traveled with our adult children, their spouses, and grandchild and there was plenty of space for all. There was so much to do! We loved the pool table, snowshoes/sleds and variety of games. We could have never left the house and still had a blast. Chris was very responsive and hospitable. We loved our stay and would come back in a heartbeat.

We had an excellent time in Breckenridge and the house was perfect. It had a great layout for our needs, the bunk room perfect for teens. Kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals. We loved the hot tub and outdoor sauna. Our most memorable eve was our last night roasting marshmallows surrounded by snow in the teepee! Chris responded to all our questions quickly and was an excellent host. Yes, you do need a 4WD during the winter months!

Awesome cabin! We had 9 people (me, my wife, son (9), and daughter (12)), my brother's family (brother, SIL, nephew (4), and niece (18 months), and our mother (75) stay for five days over President's Day weekend for a ski trip to Breck. The cabin was more than enough room for all of us, was beautiful, incredibly comfortable, and very well equipped. We loved it. Location was great -- a drive into Breck, but not too far -- and great snow shoeing and sledding near the house. Owners were easy to communicate with and very responsive. Highly recommend.

Perfect! This was our 4th year staying at this property and it is our favorite.
Well stocked kitchen, clean, comfortable beds, sauna, hot tub, cold plunge, fire pit, tree house, teepee, privacy, backs to national forest! It has everything a family could want. There is a nice hidden double bed connected to the master bedroom that has been converted into a sleeping area instead of walking closet. This would be perfect for a family with a smaller child. The location is an easy 10 min drive from ski slopes and downtown Breckenridge. In winter months, I recommend 4 wheel drive if possible.
The property is amazing and the amenities are endless. I grew up skiing in Summit County and all of the local touches were a nice walk down memory lane. I remember being in the Vail Gondola and A-Basin chairs. We rarely left the house. It was just 2 of us, and I wanted to check this place out for a family ski trip...it will be amazing in winter as well, and my kids will love it! Short drive to Breck. Only downside was no TV in main living area, which was okay for us but would need that if we bring a group!

Just to clarify for future renters, we have 4 TVs in the house including a big screen TV in the family room for watching your favorite movies or sports. There is also a big screen in the bunk room for kids to watch movies, and a TV in the master BR and a guest BR. It seems that most families prefer to use the kitchen/dining/living area on main floor for socializing, playing games at the dining table etc. and not have a TV on. The center of that living area is the woodstove and mountain views.

Family of 6 from Colorado and Maryland.Five went skiing and one created meals in the stocked kitchen. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub and wood fireplace. The beds were very comfy. Owner was 100% responsive. Lots of outdoor fun areas but several feet of snow prevented us from using them. I’m sure it’s spectacular in the warm season. We would love to find out.

We loved our stay at Blue River Lodge! Our family, ages 6 months to 61 enjoyed the beautiful view and all the fun amenities Blue Ridge Lodge had to offer. Our grandkids loved rocking out to the music we played on the big new hot tub and they loved making s’mores around the large fire pit (one of three that the lodge has!) We also loved the gondola on the deck and the teepee in the back that had another fire pit inside. We loved looking at the beautiful mountains surrounding the property and even had an adorable fox come up on the deck and peak into our living room one day! That thrilled us all. We had a wonderful week!

Hi Julie,
Thanks for the nice review! We really enjoyed meeting you and your family and are so happy you all enjoyed all the amenities at the Blue River Lodge. And lucky you to meet our "pet" fox. He lives in the woods behind our house and he loves to say hello to our guests.
Hope you guys come back again!

Beautiful place, great location. Only downside the property manager was not much help with a few minor problems. Basement shower did not function properly, issue never resolved during our stay. Having said that I would still rent it again, relaxing, beautiful setting and the best rental we have ever done.

Greg, our apologies that the loose handle in the shower couldn't be fixed during your stay since our plumber was not available. While the shower still worked I understand that it was tricky to adjust the water temperature. We hope that your family will still still come back another time.

My new wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon. The house itself is amazing then and in the views of elk on the mountain side right out the window with mule deer walking by morning and night. Then take a trip into Breckenridge that’s only 15 mins away and you’ll pass a group of moose every morning for us around 10 am. The place was clean the property was nice with plenty to see even spiders because you are in the mountains and spending time outdoors. Would recommend to anyone just wanting to get away from day to day busy and just breath a little. Can’t thank the host enough already coming up with another trip here. Thank y’all again

This home is truly magical. It has absolutely everything you could possibly wish for in Colorado to enjoy a perfect vacation with a big group. From the very first minute we walked inside, everything felt thoughtfully prepared and organized for us. All the information was provided, and the house was equipped with everything — from everyday essentials and kitchen supplies to towels, slippers, snow gear, and so many helpful items for outdoor activities. Every detail was carefully considered. The host, Chris, is incredibly responsive and attentive. He stayed in touch throughout our entire stay and made sure we never experienced any difficulties. All the features advertised — the hot tub, sauna, steam room, hammam, billiards, and more — worked perfectly and were in excellent condition. Everything was clean, tidy, and well maintained. We truly enjoyed our Thanksgiving break here. And what amazed us even more — although the entire Breckenridge area had almost no snow yet, this little street around the house looked like a winter fairy tale. It felt like a small miracle.Despite a few small challenges along the way (as happens with any big trip), every single person in our group — adults and kids — was absolutely happy with our stay.We loved this home, highly recommend it, and will definitely return.
Our two week stay at the Blue River Lodge was wonderful! Chris was a very attentive host and willing to help with whatever needs came about. The lodge was beautiful and perfect for our group of 12, including 5 children ages 2 to 7.The outside area offered fun opportunities for everyone. The hot tub, barrel sauna, board games in the gondola, s’mores by the campfire, exploring in the teepee, and coffee with a good book on the deck were some of the highlights. The proximity to Breckenridge was convenient. We enjoyed fishing on Lake Dillon and the Montgomery Reservoir, the Georgetown Loop Railroad, Two Below Zero Frisco chuckwagon dinner, day trip to Vail and the mountain coaster, and several hiking trails around Breckenridge. We can’t wait to come visit again and enjoy another stay at the lodge!

About the host
Hosted by Chris
We live in Denver and manage the bookings and guest service ourselves. We typically respond to texts or emails within minutes. It is a rare find -- a true log cabin in a very private setting with all the furnishings and amenities you could ever want. Please contact us for more photos and any questions you might have!
Why they chose this property
This house has great views and privacy yet is very close to the town of Breckenridge for shopping, skiing and restaurants. This is a true custom crafted log home, not a 'kit' log cabin, located on a very private lot next to National Forest. We believe it is a one of a kind and our guests agree.
What makes this property unique
This is not your typical rental house and is furnished as if it were your own. Be sure to check our the chairlift at the head of the dining table - this chair is from the retired Pallavacini lift at A-Basin. And new starting the fall of 2022, we have added a Scandinavian barrel sauna! The house also has a two-car heated garage, gourmet kitchen, large private hot tub, sauna, steam shower and pool table. For the children we have a huge bunkroom, an authentic Indian tipi complete with firepit and log benches. We provide the 'extras' that are not typically included with other rentals -- tons of board games, Jenga, puzzles, cards, down comforters and pillows, gourmet kitchen provisioned with spices and top of the line cookware. We make every effort to distinguish our house as the best on the market in Breckenridge.
