You get to meet a Farmhouse built on a rock surrounded by lush vegetation. On an impressive cliff, overlooking the river giving Velillos, Granada and Sierra Nevada. Bed in Villa de Moclín, where we can offer complete rest from all kinds of outdoor activities, in an idyllic setting in real contact with nature. The house has two floors, where you will find all the comfort and charm of a place with an Arab touch that will not forget. On the first floor you have the common rooms and bedrooms and up to the second you will be surprised with its comfortable and sunny terrace and private pool. From your private pool upstairs you get one of the most beautiful snapshots of Sierra Nevada. The house is located in a beautiful, well connected and very close to natural: Granada, Alhambra, Airport, ... to 25 minutes. Montefrio, Alcalá la Real, 15 minutes. Costa Tropical, 1 hour. Sierra Nevada, 40 minutes.

Rosa our host was very accessible via messaging throughout our stay and we felt both left to enjoy our holiday but secure in the knowledge that she was on hand if required. The property was very clean with lots of towels, toilet rolls and shower gels provided across the bathrooms. The location is extremely quiet with one small bar that is open until 4pm weekdays but open later at weekends and one other bar that opens weekends only. There is a small supermarket. The house provides stunning views of the mountains and valley. The plunge pool provides relief from the heat of the day. If you want a truly quiet and relaxing break this is your spot. The property is not accessible for those with mobility issues as it is built across three levels into the hillside with a lot of steps. It is beautifully authentic in its decor and all basic kitchen/dining utensils are provided although note that there is no oven but a hob, microwave and airfryer.

A real gem of a place

Firstly Antonio was brilliant, even though we spoke spanglish to each other he was very nice. Left some local wine and olives which went down a treat. The house itself is lovely, on the edge of the village with the most amazing views out towards the Sierra Nevada mountains which. The photo's don't do that view justice, reality is much better. We went end of October and it was so peaceful. There are lots of walks if that's your thing, or just enjoying the peace and quiet. The village is so cute and the two bars we went into were friendly, free tapas with drinks, very traditional but lovely. There is only one little shop but it suited us, we didn't move the car for a week. I would definately reccomend this place and hope to go back next year. Thank you Antonio for an amazing restful holiday.

amazing, beautiful property, stunning views and a wonderful owner!

Our stay was amazing in every way. We arrived late at night and couldn't find the property. Antonio, the owner, very kindly came and found us and guided us to the property. Wow! We were greeted by a roaring log fire, sift music, local wine, biscuits, olives and fresh bread. The property is stunning, so tasteful in a Moroccan /Moorish kind of style. Beautiful rooms, one with a gorgeous sunken bath and copper basin. Main bathroom also gorgeous. Although a freezing cold January night, we ventured up to the roof terrace. Again, wow...bbq, lovely small pool, shower, furniture. In the morning, we took in the stunning views from the terrace. Overall, a gorgeous property, fantastic owner, stunning views. Would love to return in the summer. Can't recommend highly enough!

Start by saying that these guests have been fantastic, really clean and lovely. The only problem has been the language, it was very difficult to communicate and we would have loved to be able to share the experience more widely. Heaven on earth, Breath taking. A place in our hearts forever.

Where do we start? Firstly, communication with Antonio was great. Any emails were swiftly responded to and we felt welcome right from the time of booking. We arrived an hour before check in and Antonio was happy to meet us early. The house is stunning. On arrival we fell in love with this beautiful building. It’s hard to believe, but its better in real life than it is in the pictures. We were so happy and comfortable and enjoyed exploring all the stunning themed pieces that make this house a home. We instantly felt at home and felt a great connection to this property. It had everything we needed for our stay. As for the views, we were mind blown. We would sit out on the front porch to watch the amazing sun rise in the morning and would sit upstairs on the roof terrace at night to watch the sun set and night skies. Our first few days were filled with visiting local areas. It’s a twenty minute drive to any of the many local towns, half an hour away from the airport, an hour from Jaen castle & cathedral and an hour and a half from the coast. We highly recommend you see it all. Moclin castle is a must. You get an amazing view of the lovely little town you are staying in. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights the castle is lit up and this just adds to the beauty of the stay. The rest of our stay was spent relaxing on the roof terrace. Antonio’s wife and daughter met us for check out and were lovely. We thank you so much for such an amazing stay in this beautiful house. We have fallen in love with this home and area and we will be back next year to stay again. Thank you millions. See you again soon, Liz & Danny

Lovely Property and Great Host

As unlike other places we have stayed throughout Spain, this property is as advertised! It is lovely and well equipt. The host has thought of all the nice touches, such as leaving us local olives and sweets. Much appreciated. I note that the reason I gave the location 3 starts is because there is a poor dog attached all day and night to a heavy chain in the desolate yard next door. It was incredibly disturbing to see every day. We are animal lovers- and indeed brought our 2 dogs to the property- so this was very disturbing. We struggled very much trying to get help for him locally, but were unsuccessful.

Fantastic stay in a unique and stunning location.

Very traditional, yet quirky holiday home, with absolutely stunning views. The roof terrace with pool is a perfect space to enjoy your meals, the sun, the views and the starry night sky. Spotlessly clean with everything you need for your holiday and a lovely welcome pack - especially the delicious piononos, a local sweet pastry. Very welcoming and helpful hosts,with easy handovers.

Lovely house with great views.

Meestal zijn woningen nooit zo mooi als de foto's en beschrijving. Dit huis hoort tot de top. Alles aanwezig, rust, fraai dorp, heel erg schoon en een geweldig dakterras met dito uitzicht op de Sierra Nevada.

Lovely decorated house

We really loved this house! The owners constructed it all by themselves and we were surprised to see all the details and decorations, our daughter’s reaction said it all: “oh woooow”! The bathrooms look totally awesome and the rooftop terrace is super comfortable with the pool and seating area. Even though the pool was too cold in the beginning of october (still with hot summer weather). We were with our almost 2yo toddler and honestly this was a bit difficult with all the chairs. This house is great for kids that know how to walk stairs, or if they are just small babies. Otherwise you have to lift a lot during the day. Also the lovely bathrooms weren’t very handy as you easily spill lots of water on the floor and you can’t put the shower heads on the wall. I can imagine this may result in leakage or damage to the walls on a longer term but that’s more an issue for the owner than for the renter. The kitchen is lovely with all the new equipment. The route de gollizno is really worth your time, however not suitable for small kids. Moclín itself is a bit boring, but if you like silence and comfort this is the place to be! The only thing we didn’t like was the neighbour that will park his tractor in front of all the windows with the smelly noisy engine turned on for almost 1 hour and then starts using the horn. Luckily this happened only twice. He could save sooo much money, smell and waste of diesel by just turning his engine off when he doesn’t use the tractor... If the link in the directions in this app doesn’t work, please look for “casa rural el gollizno” in Moclín on google maps itself. It’s right at the end of the street.

Moorish wonder

What a lovely property. The Moorish feel to the property is wonderful. All your needs are covered from the TV, stereo and tinkling of a water feature through to everything required in the kitchen. Then you go upstairs and out onto the veranda / roof terrace. Wow. The view, setting and the pool. Clearly a vast amount of planning went into producing this property. Most definitely one of the best rented holiday properties I have stayed in - and my wife and I are very well travelled. Communication with Antonio and family was simple and all arrangements made easy for a pleasant few days break. Moclin is a quiet pleasant village. A shop, banking and a few bars. All you need.

Perfecto para desconectar

Un sitio excepcional para desconectar en un pueblo tranquilo y con encanto. Equipada con todo lo necesario y decorada con un estilo rústico muy peculiar con mil detalles. La terraza tiene unas vistas inmejorables, barbacoa y una pequeña piscina. Definitivamente muy recomendable.

Impresionante alojamiento

La terraza y las vistas son espectaculares. Pero la casa construida en la roca no se queda atrás. Después de una semana todavía sigues descubriendo detalles con un gusto exquisito que no te dejan indiferente. Pueblo bonito, ruta del gollizno imposible perdérsela y sale desde la propia casa. Y la atención de los propietarios inmejorable.

The most beautiful property in a breathtaking location.

We travelled to four locations on our trip. We’d saved this one until last as it looked beautiful in the photos but they don't do this place justice. The entire house was lovingly set up and decorated and everything you could want was there, but it was the subtle added touches that made it perfect. If we could have bought it, we would have moved straight in. The scenery from the balcony and pool is another feature that doesn’t come across in the ad. If you’re after a secluded getaway in a beautiful, but tiny village, this is for you. We came for relaxation, photography and walking and found it perfect for all. Simply stunning.

Tranquillità e relax...cosa vuoi di più ?

Arrivati a casa ci siamo subito trovati a nostro agio. La posizione è lontana da grossi centri abitati, in zona tranquilla con un panorama stupendo. Di sera cenare in terrazza era la nostra ciliegina sulla torta...dopo aver girato in lungo e in largo per visitare l'Andalusia, terra meravigliosa con troppo da vedere. Consiglio a tutti questa casa per la tranquillità e l'accoglienza di Antonio che subito dal check-in ci ha aiutato a visitare i posti li vicino che difficilmente si possono trovare sulle guide ufficiali. Complimenti Antonio. Auguri per tutto e forse arrivederci a presto.

Fantastisch uitzicht!!

Wat een geweldige 5 dagen hebben wij gehad. Onze gastheer Antonio heeft een plaatje van een huis neergezet. Heerlijke bedden, knusse huiskamer en badkamer. Boven op het terras ligt de magie. Het moment van de dag maakt niet uit, rust en het uitzicht.. Fantastisch!!

Rural property on the edge of an historic Moorish village

A two bedroom house with roof terrace enjoying stunning views of the agricultural foothills leading up to the snow capped mountains in the distance. The house as an Arabic Moorish theme that has been artistically created by Antonio. Very well equipped including washing machine and coffee maker. Antonio was an attentive host always on hand if needed. Highly recommended, and would love to stay again. Pete and Lesley
