The place: Forès is one of the municipalities of the medieval route of the Cister. The village has 46 inhabitants. It is located on a fortified hill of 864 m, which overlooks the fertile valley of the Conca de Barberà and has views of the sea, the Pyrenees mountains, and the sacred mountain of Montserrat. From a geological and scenic point of view, it is one of the most interesting places in the region.
At the top stands the ornate octagonal tower of the Romanesque church of Sant Miquel, which is dedicated to the praised archangel as the overcoming of the demons.
The church is a point of the Ley line of Forès that begins on the coast near Tarragona (San Miguel) and arrives to Lleida, where it connects with the great road that follows the Ley of the Way of Santiago from Catalonia to Compostela (Campus Stellae), the line that follows through Zaragoza (Caesar Augusta) to Logroño, where it connects with the French road that passes through Roncesvalles and Estella (Navarra).
This aligns Forés with all the churches that are consecrated to the Archangel Michael, a straight line following the axis of the church nave. To the 90º exactly of this line, following the direction of the nave of the church, to about five kilometers of distance is in a hill of 750 meters of height of the hermitage of Sant Pere de Savella (S. Pedro), part of another Alignment consecrated to Saint Peter, or Sant Roc churches, note that both mean "rock" (Petrus).
It is within the telluric alignments, power center where many ley lines concur, similar to Montserrat.
How to get around: Apart from a walk to the top of the village of Forès to visit the millenary Romanesque church and stroll through the old village, or take a walk in the local countryside to visit the old spring or to pick aromatic plants, there are many interesting visits that can made locally. If you come in your own car, or rent a car (better booked previously), best at the airport (Reus the closest) and we will show you which routes to take. Alternatively, we can meet you at Reus airport with our 9-seat VW, and once installed, we can take you to visit beautiful places in the afternoons. (From 13:00 onwards, 15 € ppp day, minimum 3 people) In the morning you can take walks nearby or through the village, or stay and rest or study in the relaxing atmosphere of the house recently renovated with elegance . We also have 2 bikes that we can rent for € 2 per day.
Other highlights: Our house is in the lower part of the village, which prevents it from being wrapped in clouds as is the top part when it is cloudy, but just as cool in summer, and is in places about the same altitude as several local sites that you can reach by bike (we have 2 adult bicycles that we can rent to you very cheaply) along the tracks improved by the windmills installers. Windmills provide great interest for young people, and although at first their presence scared the majority of our local eagle population, we have recently been noticing the return of the towering great birds of prey in front of the village in the skies Of the Conca. All our guests have had a very pleasant stay here; If you have come to visit the wonderful monasteries of the Route of the Cisters, to visit the numerous modernist wineries of the Conca de Barberà DO, to make things more tourist like taking the circuit of luxury thermal spa or going underground through impressive caves , to do healthy things like nice local walks on foot and bike paths, or just to relax in the pleasant atmosphere of the top of our house, away from it all, but whatever you need, you have to remember to bring it, since the nearest super market is 5km away which is a bit far to go if you have forgotten the pesto sauce, and I might not be able to help .....

Why they chose this property
Our vilage dominates all the Conca de Barberà and has always served as a key strategic point since not only the whole Conca is visible but also all the land between us and the chain of the Pyrenees 70 km away, and as far as the sea 50km away. We are located halfway between the valleys of La Conca and the interesting valley of the Corb River behind the village, over in the next province of Lleida. Every visitor to our town describes it as a remarquable experience, a place to deepen.
What makes this property unique
While staying with us, you can make cultural visits to monasteries and fascinating historical monuments, sensorial experiences like the luxury thermal baths 6 km away in Rocallaura (circuit 2 hours = 15 €) or the caves with underground river, physical activities like hiking or cycling, Or try gastronomy and vineyards of very positive reputation at more than reasonable prices, and above all, to enter the history and legend of a surprising undiscovered area.
