GitesdelaForge - 2 traditional gites for 25/27, 2 pools, indoor & outdoor games.

2 large properties, a Farmhouse and a converted Barn with 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms in each property. Sleeps 12 in the barn and 13/15 in the Farmhouse. Total 25 max 27 people.

With the use of two swimming pools and a covered outdoor area with boules, darts and garden furniture so you can dine together.

Located on the D148 between Fontenay le Comte and Niort, close to the A83 motorway.

Our location is perfect, 15 minutes from the beach at Xanton-Chassenon with waterslides, lifeguard, shallow water area, diving pontoon, bar with snacks and drinks, picnic area and playground. Close to the Marais Poitevin (or Venise Verte, a network of canals reclaimed from the sea) and 20 minutes from the Mervent forest, both ideal for walking, cycling and boating. In the surrounding area, you'll find historic buildings, châteaux, abbeys and many picturesque villages.

The coast, beaches and islands of the southern Vendée and Charente Maritime, as well as La Rochelle, are just an hour's drive away. The Vendée is renowned for its mild, sunny climate.

lovely peaceful cottage

great gite perfectly secluded and private yet close to many attractions. lovely heated pool. games room a bonus. bedrooms are small and there is only 1 bathroom but this is reflected in the price. great value for money. will return.

Un long week-end inoubliable dans un bel endroit

Super week-end passé au sein des 2 gîtes situés côte à côte. Nous étions 16 adultes et 8 enfants, nous avons eu un nombre de chambre permettant à chacun d'avoir son intimité. Merci pour l'accueil, la disponibilité et la gentillesse des propriétaires. Les gîtes et les extérieurs sont extrêmement bien équipés : il ne manque rien, bravo !!! Les jardins, la piscine sont très agréables, la décoration est très sympa et la literie au top. Nous recommandons sans aucun problème et encore merci aux propriétaires !!!!

Un séjour où tout le monde (petits et grands) a pu trouver sa place aussi bien dans les activités à disposition que les tâches ménagères. Les espaces permettent une vie communautaire harmonieuse pour une vingtaine de personnes.

Easy living in the French countryside.

The lodge is situated in a quiet peaceful area but with easy access to local villages and towns. Our Gite was spacious and very comfortable. The pool and games room provided excellent entertainment for all the family. Hazel and Dave did excellent work in providing information and assistance during our stay. I highly recommend the lodge.

We have lived here since 2005. We fell in love with this property at first sight. We saw huge potential in the Barns, Farmhouse and its outbuildings plus huge outdoor space ripe for improvement & conversion. Over time we have converted the Large barn into a gite and renovated the existing Farmhouse with an annex to provide another gite. (Both gites can be rented together to sleep up to 25/27, please enquire through advert 6864686.) After years of hard work converting and renovating this property into gites, we have also converted our own home (20 minutes away). We love our life in the Vendee!

Why they chose this property

The Vendee is renowned for its sunny mild climate. Our location is perfect being very close to the Marais Poitevin (or Venise Verte, a network of canals reclaimed from the sea) and Mervent Forest both lovely for walks, cycle rides, & boat trips. Nearby are historical buildings, Chateaux, Abbeys, and plenty of villages of character. The coast, beaches & islands of both the south Vendee & the Charente Maritime and beautiful La Rochelle are 1 hour drive.

What makes this property unique

We have a large extended family and have often searched for a property or properties that can sleep 20+ people without much success, because of this we have decided to rent these Unique properties together providing accommodation for 25/27 people in 12 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms. We have converted the existing large farmer’s outbuilding into The Barn Gite with 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The existing Farmhouse with 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms has had extensive remodelling and improvement. Together the two properties can sleep up to 27 people in 12 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, 2 kitchen/diners and a games room with pool table and darts. Outside facilites include table tennis, petanque, large grounds and 2 swimming pools.
