Happy Place On Lake Sunapee - 10 minutes from the ski resort

Situated on the east side of the lake, this four-season home provides majestic views of the sunsets and sun exposure most of the day - creating a perfect all-season getaway. We get beautiful, southwest breeze off the lake. The house is conveniently located only 10 minutes away from the Mt Sunapee ski resort.

The main floor encompasses a cozy family room and dinning room which is adjacent to a fully renovated kitchen with brand new appliances. Spacious deck with amazing lake view is accessible from the family room by large sliding doors. Additionally, there is a bathroom and a laundry room on the first floor.
The upstairs has four bedrooms--two with full views of the lake (king and queen size beds). The third bedroom has 2 full size beds and the forth one is a "kids room" with 2 bunk beds and a trundle twin. There is another bathroom on the second floor.
Comfortably sleeps 6 adults and 7 kids, additional 2 pull out couches in family room accommodate up to 4 extra people.

Enjoy the peaceful solitude of the lake while only a quick drive from Mt. Sunapee - less than 10 minutes. Kids want to water ski or go tubing? Bring your boat (or rent) and use our dock! Perfect place to go kayaking - we have 2 kayaks available for our guests. Kids want to hike a mountain or go zip lining in the summer? Bring them to beautiful adventure park at Mount Sunapee. If theater interests you, go take in a play at the well known New London Playhouse. Or make reservations and tour the lake on a huge boat. Or simply chill out, do nothing and be on lake time!

Lake Sunapee is one of the largest, cleanest and most beautiful lakes in New Hampshire. We are about 5 miles from New London with shopping, restaurants, grocery stores, and 25 minutes from Hanover NH (Dartmouth) with its shopping, restaurants, etc. Other nearby activities include great hiking trails, antiquing, water skiing, fishing, snowmobiling, public tennis courts, and cross country skiing. Have a restful and fun 2019 vacation!

Awesome place for a family re-union!

We LOVED this place! The house was stocked with all of the essentials, including towels and linens. This made traveling there easier. The swimming area was great too!

Delightful Lake Property

This property is well appointed, cheerful and nicely located on the lake. My wife and I and another couple enjoyed the lake atmosphere with kayaking, sightseeing and shopping. Thanks to the owners for providing our perfect getaway.

Perfect location on the lake. We had an isdue when we furst arrived that the owners took care of the next morning. The house had everything we needed. You can't get better sunsets anywhere. The water level of the lake was slow because of the dry Summer but we were able to successfully navigate the 8 miles from North to South with no issues. The sandbar was beautiful and we were the only boat there. Totally relaxing vacation for us. Blue Canoeis a great spot for dinner right on the water.

Sunapee tradition

Our second visit to this property and it has improved with some nice updates. My family always has a great time at lake sunapee and a day on the mountain is a nice diversion. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

This house has a very well supplied kitchen - plenty of plates, mugs, silverware, pots and pans. The large deck and stone patio were great for dinners and fire pit! Sunapee is a lovely lake and there is a wonderful public beach (5/person) a short car ride away. We loved that there were several kayaks and paddle boards - the only downside is that water access is challenging. You have to carry the kayak/paddle board down several steps and there isn't a launch, so you have to get it from the dock several feet down into the water. Also no shore access to the lake - the only way in is from the dock down the ladder. There is a nice floating dock to swim out to! We had a fantastic week with family and would love to come back!

Not a vacation rental

We spent a long weekend in early March - home not equipped with essentials- no dish washing liquid, no soap in bathroom, no wine opener, no mixing bowls, no paper towels, no batteries in TV remotes - etc! This home is in a rural location - great for skiing- but 10 miles to grocery store - we came to ski not drive to constantly get the basics. The biggest problem wasn’t discovered until the Monday morning we checked out - trash was suppose to be carried to town dump which is closed on Monday!!!! Never before have I stayed at a VBRO home where I was responsible for garbage.

lovely vacation

We had a really wonderful 2-week vacation at 'Happy Place'. The owners were very responsive and nice, and the location couldn't be better--right on big Lake Sunapee, with a dock to fish from and a floating dock that the kids spent most evenings on. The house has lots of lake equipment, including paddleboards and kayaks, and our friend was able to dock his boat for several nights. The fireplace patio is beautiful and delightful for evenings with cookouts and s'mores. The beds are very comfortable and there are lots of towels and comfy blankets and couches. There are neighbors very close by on three sides of the house but they were pleasant and only had parties on weekend nights. The kitchen is decent but not well set up to prepare meals for a large group and the house overall was a little bit tight for nine people (5 adults and 4 teenage children). There were plenty of beds but not a lot of extra space to spread out in, but that wouldn’t be an issue for a shorter stay. Overall, this house is an excellent choice and very good value for a family vacation on one of the most beautiful lakes in the world!

Feels Like Home with a Gorgeous View

This is a very comfortable home with plenty of spaces indoor and out for our family to spread out and relax. All six were comfortably seated in the living room to watch a game, around the dinner for table for meals or piecing together a puzzle, and even maneuvering in the kitchen. We had no need to even touch the bunk bed room which could have slept 4 teens. The location is quiet and fabulously located right on the lake with its own dock and multi-levels of gathering and relaxing. The only thing that could have been more perfect was if hiking trails were accessible from the property, yet there are many beautiful trails less than a mile away. Highly recommend the Hay Estate and Mount Sunapee where there is abundant parking and well-marked trails. For the gourmet chef, there are plenty of pots, pans and flatware, but not an abundance of larger utensils such as serving spoons, mixing bowls, liquid measuring cups, storage containers for leftovers, etc. The washer and dryer are large and easy to use. There were plenty of bath and hand towels but you'll need to bring your own washcloths if you use them. We purchased a few kitchen cloths from the grocery store and left them behind. Overall, a fantastic experience for our first VRBO stay. The entire family had an amazing time. Highly recommend this property!!! P.S. We also appreciated being able to bring our dog. He absolutely loved it! (Just don't use the Pine Hill property marked Private as they don't appreciate intruders.)

Nice lake house

Beautiful sunset views on Lake Sunapee. four bedrooms so, lots of room in the house. Lots of water toys-kayaks, canoe, paddleboards. The deck was the best spot especially with the dog as there is a gate to keep them in. Got to meet and play with Walter, the neighbor dog. Refrigerator died when we were there. Things happen-not the owners fault. They were very good at taking care of it and getting a new one in as soon as they could. Would definitely recommend this house/property

Slice of heaven

The location of this home is perfect! The sunsets every night were amazing! The home has everything you need and was very comfortable for my growing family. Dana was very responsive to our needs. Just watch out for Walter the neighborhood dog! He steals shoes lol! Every night we had campfires by the water which is something that brings the whole family together! Great lake house!

We had a wonderful week staying on sunapee! The weather wasn’t perfect but we did some day trips to the state park, Sanctuary Dairy for ice cream, hiking and lots of biking. The house was great for our group of 4 adults and 6 kids.

Lovely lakeside retreat

The Cvrk family was communicative before and during our stay, including a gracious welcome with provided paper goods and fresh flowers on the table. The easy lake access is perfect, with a deck and fire pit patio in addition to the dock. Our two families, with children ranging from 10-17 all had a fabulous time. Allowing our small dog to come with us was a Godsend and very much appreciated. We would absolutely stay here in the future.

Fantastic Lake House

What a wonderful home away from home!! This was one of 4 houses we rented in the area for a family reunion and this home was the best for location, view and overall accommodations. It was often the gathering place. The house was comfortable, clean and accommodated 3 couples and 5 teenage boys. The bathroom situation could be challenging at times, but it worked. It is exactly as described and more. The hosts were great with communication and always available and quick to respond by messaging. I would recommend this home for anyone who enjoys lake living or anyone who just wants sit and relax by the water and fire pit. Thank you Dana & Tomas!

Great gateway close to Boston

Only 1,5 hour from Boston, and you’re in the middle of the woods facing a beautiful lake. Close to plenty of nice hikes and only 10 minutes from a ski station, ice-skating, ice-surfing,etc. Easy and very different from city life. The house is easy and comfortable for 6 to 8 people. Must be even nicer in the summer if you like swimming as we do! Thanks for the stay!

Awesome house

Great place we all had a blast. The neighbors have a dog named walter that comes by and he likes to eat free cookies. Overall very nice my bed was very comfy. My favorite view was from the kitchen looking out at the lake. Stunning!

Absolutely perfect location and home

Couldn’t be more happy with this property. The kitchen is perfect for family cooking. It’s well stocked and easy to navigate. Everything in the property is as advertised. TV with cable, roku, Xbox all worked perfect. We even played a little Xbox Kinect and had a blast. Yard, dock, patio, fire pit, grill, deck, kayaks, life jackets are all in great shape and perfect for keeping everyone busy and happy. The property is well maintained, updated and clean. Beds were also very comfortable. Owners were responsive and accommodating of everything. Would have no hesitation recommending this property to couples or families.

Beautiful Lakeside Vacation

Great location on the lake, smooth and seamless check in/ check out, owners are very nice and responsive. House and property are wonderful, well equipped for fun on the lake with kayaks and paddle boards; kitchen and all household supplies also plentiful. Newer gas grill, large deck overlooking water, and fire pit on a lovely lakeside patio are all added bonuses! Water was warm, fishing was good, and the town of Sunapee is a quick boat ride away for ice cream and a bit of souvenir shopping. One of our best vacations ever!

After 4 months of renovations in the spring of 2015, we are ready to share our happy place with other people. Our hope is that you will appreciate it as much as we do.
