While I appreciate the way you left the place I disagree with your assessment of the bathroom. I had wiped down the vanity countertop and sink. I disinfected the toilet with Clorox cleaner and I sprayed the shower down with Tylex and scrubbed the grout joints. I put a fresh roll of TP in the holder. Wiped down the blinds and then I swept and mopped the floors. This I did myself so I know first-hand what was done.

On arrival I gave them the friendly arrival spiel. I showed them the door code & the wifi info. I asked that they try to keep the sand out of the unit. (The beautiful oak floor is 96 years old and is precious). I explained that there is a hot & cold outdoor shower and a hose to wash off with. I also asked that they shut everything off but the outside light when they aren’t in. I also gave them an extensive rundown on the local restaurants & a few of the sights to take in. It is part of the Vacation Rental Agreement that, “The heater and all electrical & lighting fixtures, appliances, etc. must be off when not in the unit.” She signed this Vacation Rental Agreement signifying agreement with it’s terms. I thought I’d stop by the early evening of the second night of their stay just to make sure everything was OK. I knocked on the door & there was no answer. I waited a bit and knocked again, and then waited and knocked again. I could hear the ceiling fans running and the TV & the lights were on so I thought they were home. I opened the door just inches and I yelled, “Anybody home?” no answer so I yelled again much louder this time. There was still no answer so I shut everything off & left. The next evening I again thought I’d just make contact. Again the lights, TV and fans were on & again after knocking multiple times I discovered nobody was home. I left a note politely calling attention to such. They were in direct violation of the Vacation Rental Agreement.
