Incredible neighborhood. Loved getting out of town for sleeping and waking up, yet close enough to run in for event and up to Big Sky for the day. Perfect spot. Loved the walk around the neighborhood, the best views ever!
Perfect spot for a long weekend getaway - ideal for two people but can easily, and comfortably accommodate 4 people. Communication was simple and quick, it made for a stress free and very relaxing stay.
Everything was great! Host was communicative and available, but also we felt like our space was private. Everything worked fine, and for 7 consecutive nights we slept much better than usual! Not sure if it was the beds or the Montana air :) The setting and view are gorgeous, and we regularly saw deer and pretty sunsets. Smart tv worked great, AC/fans worked great, shower strong and warm- no issues! You definitely feel like you're away from it all- big wide open vistas, and it probably took around 15 to drive into town. (Personally I like to be a little closer to things, but this also meant closer to Gallatin River where my husband likes to fish, so it worked for us overall). Also the road itself is handy for jogging since it's about a mile from end to end, so it's easy to plan an N-mile jog without having to consult a map, just be ready to feel the altitude if you're used to sea level! Inclines/declines, no cars to worry about, and spectacular views.
The place was a perfect size for me. It was just down the road from the mountain top resort where my family was staying. The views were absolutely incredible! I would love to stay again in yhe future.

nice place, nice neighborhood
Very nice place in a quiet neighborhood. Allows you to get out of town a little bit for some peace and quiet. Bill was very friendly and helpful.
We enjoyed our stay. The place was clean and the layout of the rooms were great. Offered privacy if one of the guest chose to go to bed early or sleep in. Loved sitting out on the back patio and admiring the view. Very peaceful and quiet area. The hosts were available if we needed anything or had questions about attractions to visit. Easy access to downtown as well as Big Sky and Yellowstone. Would recommend this property to others traveling to this area.
Place is quiet and comfy. One bed is in the studio portion; sofa bed in sunroom has a substantial mattress -- feels like a regular bed. The two portions are separated by a door that is good soundproofing if you have a noisy sleeper. There were plenty of dishes and cookware.
The ladder mentioned in some old reviews is gone -- everything is on the same level.
Great neighborhood outside of Bozeman with all the amenities you need. We ended up with a rain out for our event so it was nice to have separate TV's in each room for movies. The person in bedroom #2 has to pass through the first bedroom (which is located within the kitchen) to get to the bathroom. Worked for us but if you're looking for romantic time it may be awkward, LOL! Host was friendly and responsive. Hope to be back!
Bill was a lovely host, very communicative and kind. The unit itself was perfect for 2, and maybe even 4 people. The place was spotless and well appointed with all the necessities. The view our from the sitting area is beautiful. This part of town was really quiet and serene, but only a short drive into downtown. To the south, you're already half way to some great hiking at Palisade Mountain. The water is from the well and felt so great on the skin. Bill also left some pitchers of water in the fridge ready to drink. Being from Los Angeles, good clean water is a luxury!!
Thanks Bill for everything!
Beautiful property. Quiet and scenic neighborhood. Hosts were easy to communicate with and ready to assist with anything. It felt like visiting a friend's home because of all they provided for our stay. We drove down to Yellowstone every day that we were there and it was a pretty drive.
Bill provides a place of solace and tranquility for those who need it. The attached room and outdoor patio that faces the open spaces of Montana give the heart a sense of calm. He also provides guests a fresh pour of water with two pitchers of water that originates from an underground aquifer. If you're looking for city water and city view, this is not the place for you, but if you need a fresh glass of water with a fresh perspective of tranquility, then reserve your stay of nights.

We had a great stay and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
Nice place to stay instead of a hotel, especially if you want to cook your own meals. The kitchen had all the utensils we needed. The only negative is that the counter space in the kitchen is very small, so prepping food and washing the dishes was somewhat of a challenge. Wasn’t enough to stop us from staying there again though.

Very nice!
My wife and I stayed here and it was perfect for our getaway trip to Bozeman. It was a good size for the two of us. Loved the back porch and views. It was sure nice to be out in the country and the commute to town was quick. Will definitely be back.

Beautiful setting and gracious host
This was a nice stay in a beautiful little studio loft attached to a beautiful home. The setting was very quiet and located about 15 minutes from downtown Bozeman. The views were spectacular from the back patio.
Bill, the owner was a gracious host and very accommodating. I would definitely stay here again.

Small, efficient, nice property, view
I did already write a review, but I will write another one.
We had an enjoyable stay, mostly because of the view and proximity to a family member. It is a small unit and we can't see 4 people staying there, especially since the ladder would seem to obstruct the doorway/passageway. However, we did not put the ladder up so we don't know if navigation would be problematic. I would not recommend this unit for four people.
The unit is efficient and worked well for us. (We could not get the space heater to work. We left a note to that effect and there were sufficient blankets.)
We would rent this VRBO again.

Beautiful drive to town.
The property was comfortable and in a great location. Nice attention to detail. Never made it up the ladder to the loft. I suspect it was nice. I'm not a ladder guy. We took a nice hike that was very close to the property. Found it in one of the many books available in the apartment. Kirk Hill. If you have a couple of hours very nice hike. Definitely, would stay again.

About the host
Hosted by Bill Muhlenfeld
Hi! We are Bill & Anthea, and moved to Bozeman in 1998 from Lake Forest in the Chicago area. We are former owners of Distinctly Montana magazine; and you can see our work by googling Distinctly Montana. We know A LOT about Montana, and can help you plan your stay, so that your time is well-spent. We will help you to discover the best Bozeman and Montana has to offer.
Why they chose this property
We have the best of rural living with "no-traffic" quick access to downtown (watch out for the elk!). With the property you get our "publishers-eye" view of everything Montana and Bozeman have to offer. We know Montana, and we REALLY know Bozeman, so glad to act as your armchair guides.
What makes this property unique
If you like quick access to Bozeman but don't want the city noise and bother, you can trade that in for outstanding views and quiet in a more rural setting just a short drive from downtown, with quick access to Big Sky and Yellowstone. Bozeman is VERY crowded in the summer, so you may enjoy a respite in our apartment where you can access many trails for hiking, biking and take a short jaunt to Hyalite Lake for kayaking, canoeing and fishing.
BTW, quiet is appreciated here, so please leave your electric guitar at home!
