You can't beat this location. It is lakefront at its best. It is also near anything your hearts desire. If you like to fish, swim, shop, hike, go to festivals, wineries or just hang, this is the perfect spot. This wonderful cottage is located on the southwest side of beautiful South Lake Leelanau. This is an all-sports lake with great fishing, water sports, and sightseeing. You can explore more than 20 miles of shoreline, visit North Lake Leelanau, or dock your boat in the quaint town of Leland and shop in 'Fishtown'.
The cottage is located on a small access road which is about three miles north of the town of Cedar. It is a two-story house with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The bedrooms are all upstairs, and one full bath upstairs, and one full bath downstairs. The lake area in front of the cottage is beautiful, with about a two-mile expanse across the lake.
The cottage is directly on the lake (there is no road between the cottage and the lake) and the water is about 80 feet from the cottage. Large trees at the water's edge provide cool shade on summer days. The lake bottom is sandy, with a very gradual drop off (about three-feet deep at 100 feet from shore). The shoreline is grass up to water's edge. Enjoy wonderful sun and moon-rises from your wrap-around porch. Truly a functional and lovely get-away. Hard-pan sandy lake bottom, great for youngsters to swim and play. No thru-traffic on this private shared road. Open floor plan on main level with durable flooring, spacious entry/laundry room. Charming cottage style decor. Boating on this 20-mile lake seems endless. Spend the entire day on the lake topped off with a great dining experience in Cedar, Lake Leelanau, or Leland by-boat. So much more to experience on this, the greatest all-sports inland lake in the area. The charming village of Cedar is less than a 5 minute drive and only 20-minutes to downtown TC.

The place looked exactly as shown in the pictures. It was cozy and clean. Nicely decorated. Family friendly. We felt safe there. Lovely location on Lake Leelenau. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.
This was a family friendly home in a secluded lakeside neighborhood. The host was easy to communicate with and very accommodating to our family’s needs. Would highly recommend.
We stayed the last weekend of October. The cottage is very comfortable and inviting with a nice open floor plan and view of the lake. Weather was cool, lake was beautiful and we enjoyed the outdoor fire pit by the water and the indoor wood burning stove. The market/gas station in cedar has a good supply of firewood. Owner was quick to respond to inquiries and the visit went very smoothly.
Amazing spot on gorgeous Lake Leelanau. We spent lots of outdoor time in the water, and on the dock, yard and porch. Perfect location close to several beach towns, golf courses, hikes and water activities. The host was super responsive and accommodating and even drove out to get items we left after check out and shipped them to us.
Views of the lake from the house are awesome! Size of the back yard is great and easy access to the lake. House was VERY cute. Loved the retro, cottage feel. Quick and easy access to anything you might want to see. Would recommend this place to others. A side note: Overall, the place was clean but it needs a deep clean. Window ledges and screens were very dirty and dust in places that aren't used everyday.

Thank you for staying at our place. We just hired a new cleaner (late August) so good to know.
A lovely place to relax for a week. We traveled there with our toddler and appreciated the high chair being available. The lake is beautiful and location is easily accessible into Traverse City and surrounding area.
We, a group of sisters, went to this cabin for a long weekend birthday getaway. It was a great location and had all we needed. The view of Lake Leelanau is amazing.
Thank you so much for a wonderful quick getaway! We had a lot of family celebrating a recent graduation and thoroughly enjoyed our time together at the lake! Everything was wonderful!
I wanted a place where we could see the night sky without city lights that was next a lake. The cottage is clean and cute. Neighbors were friendly and the town is super cute.
Cute cottage with direct access to the lake. Perfect size for six adults. Bathrooms could use some updating, but the rest of the cottage is comfortable and cozy. Great location, close to all TC has to offer. Plenty of outdoor space with lake toys and outdoor games. We spent most of our time enjoying these outdoor amenities and the lake! Would definitely stay here again!
The cabin looks beautiful from the outside and rustic on the inside. It was great having two showers, as there were 6 of us. T

Beautiful sunrises every morning!
The property is beautiful. Loved the fire pit and the morning sunrises. House was clean and kitchen was well equipped. You might want to bring bottled water for drinking as we noticed a funny odor to the water. Easy drive to Suttons Bay, Leland and Traverse City. A lot of local wineries to enjoy.

Thank you for staying at our cottage. All our water is filtered to both our bathrooms and laundary through Culligan water filtration system. We have a separate line going into our kitchen which we are fixing this fall allowing the kitchen faucet to be filtered. We have had it tested it is safe and healthy to drink. We are glad you enjoyed yourself!! Thank you Heather
We came for a long fall weekend of wines and restaurants and relaxation. We enjoyed live music at the river club (glen arbor) sunset over the dam (Leland Fishtown, cove restaurant) enjoyed some great wines at soul squeeze and bourbon at the distillery across the street. We hiked some through the sleeping bear dunes and enjoyed a cup of coffee with a view from the covered porch over lake leelenau. There was a decent collection of games and we were particularly grateful to be able to watch the MSU game!
My husband and I met our friends and their 4 year old daughter for a 4 day weekend to fish and visit. The house was perfect for the 5 of us. The location on the water with that view was amazing. The tree swing was a perfect touch for the house. We are already planning on coming back next September!

About the host

My husband grew up in this area and I have been here more than 20 years. We just purchased this cottage spring 2015. We look forward to sharing it with our guests. We have two children (14 & 16 yrs old). We love to water ski, tube, and swim in the water. This is a perfect spot. We bought this property because we LOVE the location.
Why they chose this property
We love that this cottage is an open floor plan with a huge stone fireplace, 2 full bathrooms and 3 bedrooms. There is lots of charm and character. We also love the outdoor spaces. The two outdoor balconies and the wrap around porch with the lake view are hard to beat. We also put in a fire pit for s'mores. Very important;-)
What makes this property unique
The best feature is location, the flat lot, and the waterfront. We like that it is 20 mins from Traverse City, and 4 minutes to the village of Cedar. It is also minutes from Lake Michigan, Suttons Bay, Leland, and Glen Arbor. There are several wineries within a 20 mile radius.
