About this property

A spacious upstairs apartment in an outback, peaceful setting in farm country.

The guesthouse is a nice, spacious upstairs apartment in newly built home on a quiet back country road surrounded by fields & forest. We are located in the heart of Amish country in Lancaster County away from the hustle and bustle, where you will hear the sound of horse and buggies. There is a one room school house a short walk up the road. You can watch the school children walking to school every morning while school is in session.
You will enter the front entrance into private foyer to upstairs. It is a private area on the second floor with two bedrooms, a queen bed in each. The sitting area includes 2 full sofas, one folds down to a bed. Also a dormer with a single sofa bed. The kitchen is made with old barn wood from the family farm. It includes an apartment sized fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, electric skillet, a table which seats 6 people.
A large flatscreen TV is in the sitting area. It is not connected to cable TV but is connected to the WIFI giving you access to many of the popular streaming sites. You will need to provide your own login credentials for subscription based streaming platforms.
The entrance has a keypad for easy come and go without needing a key.
This will be a wonderful home away from home to stay and relax and see the sights.
You may also enjoy the outdoor pavilion with picnic table and chairs to relax. A grill will be provided if you need one.

We had the whole upstairs to ourselves & it had all the comforts of home! Nice kitchen, plenty of space, and warm & welcoming decor. It felt like home away from home. Charlotte is always so gracious. Second year in a row i booked Charlotte's place for a mother/daughter weekend. The location and apartment size is perfect for us. It's only 15min to Kitchen Kettle Village and everything else we wanted to do. Charlotte and her husband are very sweet. We look forward to staying with them again next year. We enjoyed 2 days and learned a lot over this area with different people from Amish as well as Mennonite Background which was very interesting. The House Dekoration ist very nice to feel Well Düring our stay.

As Mennonites, we have lived all but two years of our married life, and raised our four children on the farm, 42 years. Just this past year we built a new house up the road and daughter, son-in-law & 6 children moved on the farm. Elvin will continue to work on the farm with the family. We have been blessed with 4 children, all married and now have 25 grandchildren. Two of our daughters live close by, another daughter lives in Indiana where her husband is administrator of Elnora Bible Institute and our son lives in Alaska working in mission aviation for MARC (mission aviation repair center). We are so thankful to have the farm stay in the family.

Why they chose this property

This property is a very peaceful, quiet getaway, yet not far to local attractions. Kitchen Kettle in small town of Intercourse is only 15 min drive through rolling farm back country roads. Sight & Sound is 30 min. away where you can see the Bible come alive with professional actors. Also have outlet shopping about half hour away.
