Summary:

'Shrimp Daddy' is what we call this fun and funky retro-themed oceanfront condo. It can sleep up to four people by way of a queen size bed and a sleeper sofa, has two full bathrooms and a full kitchen. The beach access is literally right out the oceanside window. If the weather is stormy, stay inside and play the Atari, listen to some records on the record player and watch the waves from the amazing view of the oceanside suite. Don't forget about our indoor heated saltwater pool and dry sauna!



The Space:

No. 225 at the Sea Gypsy is a funky retro-style condo that we call "Shrimp Daddy." This condo stands out amongst others in the building because it still holds true to the original 1970s Sea Gypsy charm. Like a fine wine, this condo has only gotten better with age.



It can sleep two on a groovy queen bed in the private back bedroom. There's also a comfortable sofa bed in the oceanfront living room that can sleep two more travelers.



Cooking in this vintage kitchen is a real blast from the past! It has a small fridge, stovetop, toaster, mini microwave, coffee pot with complimentary coffee and cupboards full of quality old school cookware.



Shrimp Daddy is packed with lots of fun treats including a flashback Atari game system, a record collection to go along with the record player that also has CD and MP3 plugin option.



If you're up for a far out time at the coast in a place where the ocean views and beach access simply cannot be beat, then this is the condo for you. Feel the funk!



Guest Access:

The condo comes with a unique code which will get you entry into your unit. There you will find a key that will grant you access to our indoor, heated salt water pool and dry sauna.



This is a 2nd floor unit, there are 16 steps required to access the unit.

This is a condo in a shared complex, and it's worth noting that from time to time, you might hear everyday sounds coming from neighboring units and common areas within the facility.



There are three gas grills on site available for guest use. They are located next to our sparkling pool.



The condo comes with a limited supply of complimentary coffee, sugar, and creamer.

Great location! The little river streaming to the ocean is an excellent place for kids to 0lay. The restraunt next door is amazing! The decor right down to the disco ball was great. The reason it only gets a 3 is the pull oit bed was absolutely awful hard metal bumps and springs. We came down with our grandson and he wouldn't sleep aline so I had to sleep in the luving area with him. Even if it had a 2 inch topper it might have been tolerable.

I forget I stayed At the sea gypsy before and wasn't impressed but must of booked it again cuz it was affordable and next time if I can't afford to stay somewhere else then I won't be traveling. Your unit was trash and old and broken. Carpet so gross and old. Broken electrical socket. Sofa bed is so uncomfortable unless u like really thin mattress so u can feel the metal rod in your back. U guys should burn the unit instead of selling trash to people. Charging cleaning fees when u don't even clean the unit. It's worse then staying in a motel 6. Never ever ever sea gypsy. Complete disgusting. Rather sleep in the car

The staff was fantastic and we appreciated the way she handled the smoker issue. But as far as the room, it was sub-par at best. I get the theme idea, but the furniture was shot! Except for the bed it was comfortable. The pans need to be trashed, there was 1 usable. Front right burner didn't work, fridge/ freezer needs defrosted. The cupboard door kept falling off the runner. Carpet needs cleaned if not replaced. The back bathroom rubber baseboard was pealed off from the wall. Just a lot of little things that would make it a lot nicer. Housekeeping needs to move things and vacuum once in a while and dusting would be nice too. My love of hearing and seeing the ocean was met and enjoyed very much and for that I thank you!

I was very disappointed in how this place looked. The carpet was very badly stained, the bed Looked to be not made, the bedspread was kinda thrown on the bed, the baseboard was falling off in the bathroom off bedroom. Refrigerator has ice in the back of it & freezer was caked in ice. The decor was very cute. I appreciate that I was able to check in early and the view was amazing. I took pictures of the carpet as I did not want to be blamed for the stains.

I love the cute decor and the location can't be beat. That being said, I would not stay in this unit again. The carpet is dirty and stained, there is stuffing and foam coming out of the chair and the beds were SO uncomfortable. The lamp was broken and coming off the lamp stand. When we arrived the condo smelled like cooked food, it could have at least been aired out? My overall impression was that it was dirty and the carpet grossed me out. We met some others who were staying in 104 and their condo was 10x better than this one.

Nice Experience

Our short stay at 225 Shrimp Daddy was fun and relaxing. The accommodation was just as described. The only issue we had was the television. It took two to three remotes to operate. This was a pleasant change from our stay at the Super 8 Motel from Hell in Corvallis, OR. We would definitely stay at The Sea Gypsy again.

This was my 2nd stay in the Shrimp Daddy room. 3rd stay at Sea Gypsy. While the stay is always wonderful, I was not quite as impressed with the cleanliness of the room this time. Floors didn't look like they had been vacuumed very well. I actually found a bracelet I accidentally left in the room when I stayed 2 weeks prior laying next to one of the end tables in the livingroom. Glass dining room table had some food stuck to it from prior guests I guess. I think the stove might need to be updated as the burners didn't work quite like they should. Was able to cook on it but just took about double the time. The Sea Gypsy is very quiet and family oriented, which I ALWAYS enjoy when I go there. You can NOT beat the ocean-front views and beach access. We plan on making this a yearly vacation destination and will definately stay at Sea Gypsy again but in a different room. Thank you Lincoln City, Depoe Bay, and Newport for sharing you beauty with us!! See you next year!!

The Shrimp Daddy!

I would give this place 4 or 4.5 stars, but I can't ignore how thin the walls and ceilings are. The neighbors above us kept us up until 2am jumping around and yelling. We also found the hideaway bed sheets were dirty when we opened them (the office did quickly replace them), the wifi was spotty (if you really needed it, say for work, you might be in a tough spot), and there was a box of old dessert in one of the cabinets above the bar. However, minus the sheets and box of old dessert, this place is a solid 4. We really enjoyed the decor! And the access to the beach! It was well stocked and the front desk was responsive. We may stay again, we'll see. :) Thank you for letting us visit your place!

Rented a "vintage" room. Got there Friday evening, my birthday and the coffee for the door wouldn't unlock the door. It was super cold out and I was just wanting to get settled in. After several minutes I was able to unlock the extra door but then better one would work. The front desk was super nice and worked hard to reprogram the locks etc but nothing worked. Mind you, the 2 nights was sonar $500 yet u couldn't even lock the doors so my luggage was not secure so weekend. It ended up being a nightmare if a weekend and so much stress I was not needing. They have no backup for te faulty door locks. My stuff was windy locked inside. Horrible! And I've stayed a lot over there and never had a similar experience at other hotels. I only gave it 1 star because that's the lowest it'll go and the room was clean and the front desk was wonderful. Unfortunately tho their hands are really tied due to being condos and individually owned.

Great stay

We loved our stay at the Sea Gypsy! We loved how eclectic the Shrimp Daddy room was. I think our only complaint was that the keypad lock on our door was a little temperamental other than that it was perfect. Being that close to the beach, life couldn't be better. We wish we could have stayed longer.

We were very excited to step into the 1970s in this room and the decor did not let us down! There were a few things I wanted to mention though. It appears the refrigerator may be going out. There was a thick amount of ice on the inside of the fridge and the freezer was also iced over. This was a huge let down as we planned to cook in the room but the food wouldn't have stored properly. The towel rack in the bathroom in the bedroom was broken when we arrived and was laying on the ground. There were no screens on the windows facing the beach which is unfortunate should a family with small children visit or rent the room. The bedroom has a large amount of dust and debris up against the back wall running the length of the wall which was very noticeable.

Fun Retro Room

The overall decor was a lot of fun - my kids got such a kick out of the 70s theme! Only drawback was that some of the fun stuff (the wall phone, the "atari" and the record player) got the kids very excited to try them out, but none of them worked. Place was clean with a great view, so we enjoyed our stay even without those items :)
