About this property

Rocky Mountain Elk Camp

Experience the thrill of a classic Rocky Mountain hunting adventure!
Traditional Canvas Wall Tent accommodation for four hunters, situated on a private ranch surrounded by Challis National Forest. Wake up with the wildlife while others are preparing to drive in for the day. Located N of Challis on Morgan Creek road in unit 36B, convenient to units 28 and 37 too. Over the counter deer and elk tags and great road access to thousands of acres of prime habitat make Central Idaho a premier destination for the adventurous self-guided hunter.
Fully furnished 16x20 Wall tent; 4 cots, wood stove, stocked kitchen, propane stove/oven and lantern, picnic table indoors, right down to coolers and the coffee pot. PLUS the niceties not usually found in the wilderness; clean Porta-john, BBQ's, HOT camp shower (propane), fire pit, camp chairs.... just bring your sleeping bags, clothes, food and beverages. Our rental is designed to maximize the time you get to spend in the field, skip all the camping gear and set up we've got you covered.

For guests who fly in we're glad to help arrange the shipping of your rifle or bow and the bulk of your gear so you'll just need to make your flight on time with a carry-on.
Challis isn't served by commercial airlines so you'll probably be flying into Boise, ID or Missoula, MT. Pocatello, Idaho Falls and Twin Falls are a little closer and also have regional airfields. Salt Lake City is the most affordable option and only 6 hours South.
We recommend a four wheel drive rental car to tackle our gravel and snow covered roads.

Not just for a hunting adventure! Our rental is also available after Mid-June for anything the outdoors has to offer; fishing, hiking, wildlife viewing, star gazing, or just relaxing!
Our rental is unique so feel free to contact us with questions.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.
