Excellent stay at Picturesque on Passage

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house has splendid views of the bay and is spacious to accommodate for 10 people. The agency responded quickly to several issues we had (no coffee machine...). It needs minor renovations.

Picturesque is right!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved our stay at Picturesque on Passage. The location is great and the view is fabulous! There is some maintenance required at the property (mainly fly screens and doors that need replacing and/or repairing). The top of the fridges needs a good clean and its a bit weird having to walk through a bedroom to get downstairs. Otherwise we were very comfortable and enjoyed our stay.

Family gathering with a phenomenal view

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had an extended family vacation for a 50th. It was really great to have 15 people in the same location and not having to travel to be able to talk / hang out. We saw whales every morning from the balcony, watched the sun rise and generally took in the view most mornings. The weather was perfect and couldn't complain. Amenities were good for our purpose with most meals cooked on the BBQ. House was clean & tidy, fulfilling our needs, but the view was what we were hoping for.
Response from VrboOwner on 11 Sept 2025
Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear your extended family enjoyed the special occasion and made the most of the amazing views, whale sightings, and sunrises. It’s great that the amenities and BBQ met your needs, and that the home provided a comfortable and clean space for everyone to relax together. We’d love to welcome you back for another memorable stay. Thanks, Whitsunday Holiday Rentals.

Wow what a view!!!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was perfect for our time, the view was unbelievable, we were a group of 16 and we had ample room and never felt like we were under each other's feet. The balcony was great and the facilities were as described. If we were a large group again we would definitively return. We read on one review about the location and hiring a car which we did with Heart of Reef and would recommend getting a car or it would be a little isolated.

Thank you for your fantastic review, Patrick! We’re so happy to hear the property was perfect for your group and that you enjoyed the unbelievable views and ample space. It’s great to know the facilities met your expectations, and we’d love to welcome you back for another large group getaway in the future! We appreciate the tip about hiring a car—it’s definitely a great option for those looking to explore the area. Thanks, Whitsunday Holiday Rentals Team

Great Property

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It is a wonderful property, and we had a fantastic time there. It was perfect for our group and offered plenty of space. The only downside was that the upstairs air-conditioning wasn’t working, and on our first night there was a planned power outage by the electricity company. Had we known in advance, we would have chosen to stay on Sunday night instead of Thursday.Other than that, I would definitely recommend this property. The multiple levels provide great options for both private time and group gatherings, and the pool is absolutely amazing.
Response from VrboOwner on 6 Jan 2026
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re delighted to hear you had a fantastic time and that the property suited your group so well, with plenty of space and a pool you enjoyed. We’re sorry about the upstairs air-conditioning issue and the planned power outage. The outage was unfortunately outside of our control, and we appreciate your understanding. Your comments have been noted so we can continue to improve the guest experience. Thank you again for your recommendation, and we’d love to welcome you back in the future. Large home suitable for multiple families

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful stay as a group of families. Plenty of space for everyone over the 2 levels. Views from both balconies. Shute harbour is 20mins from Airlie via car over some steep hills (we knew this and it wasn't a problem for our group) maxi taxi was $60 each way the night we chose to go into town for dinner and drinks. Beds were comfortable, plenty of fridges and bath and pool towels. Huge verandah with seating for everyone. Kids loved having a giant sleepover in the huge kids room.

Place is stunning! Management concerns

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay at Picturesque on Passage was wonderful. Views were once-in-a-lifetime. An little far away, so difficult without a rental car, but we managed. Note, there is no wifi. Which was tricky for those of us traveling internationally. Our main concern was the actual Hometime Whitsunday's management. Firstly, their system experienced a data breach and for about a month, I started receiving numerous phishing from their email, telling me to re-enter my booking details and credit card details. Which thankfully I didn't do. I let me know what I was experiencing before they acknowledged it. So felt that was pretty bad.And then, since check out nearly three weeks later, I am getting messages welcoming me to the home, and messages saying "tomorrow is checkout" etc. So the system they are using to totally messed up.Check in was a little messy too, being told to head to the property, and we will send you the message for the lock box on the way, but then never actually receiving it. There was a suggestion we would be able to check in early, but were not actually able to.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great views of the exceptionally blue waters and islands. Good place for a large group (we were 16). only problem we faced was either bed bugs or midgies (still dont know which) -all of us without exception were really badly bitten - large bites. So maybe take your own bedclothes or advise rentals to do a thorough clean. Otherwise awesome place for a short stay.

Family Place with a View

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed as a four family holiday experience in July and it was perfect as a vacation rental. The living areas are spacious, the kitchen fully stocked and an extra kitchen downstairs was very handy. The two decks have breathtaking views and was a lovely way to breakfast each morning. Showers do leak over the floor but an abundance of towels helped with that and the laundry was very handy also.Property managers were outstanding - nothing was too much trouble. Awesome house for our family holiday

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was wonderful plenty of room to house 4 families comfortably for our week long holiday. The views of the Whitsunday Islands off the back veranda are magical and we even saw sharks smashing baitfish in the shallows. The Coral Beach walking Track is right next door and is a worthwhile trip, easy enough for the little ones. Jane and Michelle were a pleasure to deal with and made our stay hassle free.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice view, good location but for the house it self needs a bit of TLC, screen doors didn’t work, bathroom sink didn’t drain, and previous guests washer found in shower, was told on the day of our arrival that we couldn’t use the downstairs kitchen which I said was fine as we were only a small group, but wasn’t happy about the tradie’s showing up the next morning with out warning to fit out the kitchen which I did let them in to their job, I told management about what happened and was told that I would be compensated, but never did
