Il Poggiarello is a home away from home. Il Poggiarello is a gem countryhouse in one of the most beautiful and exclusive locations in Tuscany. It is perfect for a family, for one or two couples or a small group of friends exploring Tuscany and the beauties of the Montalcino area. The property has been renovated and redecorated in January 2024.

Il Poggiarello is located on the top of a hill with amazing views from every corner, a beautiful and large veranda overlooking the pool.

Il Poggiarello is made of 2 large double bedrooms and a spacious living room which can be easily turned into a comfortable bedroom.

The house is decorared with the highest standards and attention to detail and benefits from alla modern accessories.

Moreover in the house you will find contemporary art works since I collect contemporary art and share one of my interests with my guests.

Montalcino is a lovely village where there are many things to do or you can do nothing and enjoy the beauty of Il Poggiarello, its views, its silence and magic.

Although close by, Il Poggiarello is completely separated from the main house, with a garden of its own and a secluded terrace for outdoor meals and sunbathing offering the most wonderful view over the vineyards, the valley and the mount Amiata in the distance. Paths starting out from the house lead to wonderful walks both into the vineyards and the woods.

Whether you stay by the pool, you admire the view from our rooms or you go wondering in the vineyards you will be enchanted by this magical place. Montalcino is ideally situated to visit Tuscany: Pienza, Montepulciano, San Quirico d’Orcia, San Giminiano, Saturnia and its thermal hot springs, Cortona are all less than one our drive. Montalcino is also known internationally for its famous Brunello di Montalcino and we will be happy to assist you in organizing some customised visit to your preferred producer.

The pool measures 12 meters x 5 meters and has a beach area with shallow water perfect for children or simply for those who want both the sun and the water!

The house has been also further improved with a new kitchen and dining area, and a new terrace and BBQ area outdoor.

Il Poggiarello is surrounded by a well looked after garden and offers an accommodations which combines a very high standard furniture and all modern comforts while maintaining the magical beauty of Tuscany. All bed and bath linen are also supplied, satellite TV, unlimited WiFi access. spacious bathroom/shower room, independent heating and air conditioned.

Il Poggiarello is composed by:
- A twin beds bedroom (on the first floor) furnished with antiques, extreme care and attention to detail.
- A fully equipped kitchen with everything you require from simple breakfast or a refined dinner.
- A living room (with a very comfortable sofa bed) with satellite TV
- A tub bathroom with wooden floor and boiserie
- A king size bedroom with ensuite large shower bathroom with wooden floors
- A terrace with large dining table and living area outdoor and BBQ
- Outside shower

If needed a single bed/cot can be provided for a child/baby or an extra single bed.

We absolutely loved this darling villa...the accommodations were all very comfortable and the views & sunsets were spectacular! It's about a 15 min drive from the village of Montalcino but also sits in the midst of several wineries worth visiting. Must have a vehicle to commute to town and the surrounding wineries but enjoying the setting & pool without going anywhere is also recommended ! Camilla is a terrific hostess

Views were spectacular, property as it looked on the website. Beautiful stone converted barn (I think), comfortable outdoor seeding and eating area to make use of the views. Kitchen was small but functional. Any problems were dealt with quickly by Camilla and her caretaker the efficient Romeo. Only drawback was the distance from Montalcino along narrow pot ridden lanes. Also the pool has no steps which makes it difficult to gracefully enter and exit. Thanks Camilla for making our stay a pleasant one.

Amazing views in the country.

If you like a 360-degree view from the top of the hill, this is the place. Amazing views, out in the country with little traffic (more tractors than cars). Very private. We wanted to sit on the patio all day.The house is very comfortable and a good home base for sampling Brunello and visiting the Montalcino vineyards.Camilla was easy to communicate with before and during our stay.

What can we say??? Grazie Grazie Grazie! What an amazing week! Camilla went over the top in communication and even helped us arrange a special birthday dinner for my husband with a local cook at the villa ! The pool was fabulous and the air conditioning much appreciated in both bedrooms. Kitchen was perfect. We sat outside on the beautiful patio every night and played games and drank Italian wine. The view is to die for! It was so hard to leave. The book Camilla left in the villa had great ideas for our visit and we went to a couple. Wish we could have stayed a month!

Perfect getaway

We wanted to enjoy the Tuscany area and this house checked all the boxes for us. The photos can’t actually capture the true beauty of this place. The host, Camilla was so gracious and kind. Comfortable bed, kitchen well stocked with the dishes we needed. Full size refrigerator was nice too! It’s a little bit of a drive to the property but oh so worth it!

The property is located in a beautiful natural setting with breathtaking views, providing an authentic Tuscan experience. However, the house is modest and not well equipped. The pool was extremely filthy during our stay, and Camilla denied the evidence, and in addition was arrogant, which badly affected our overall experience.

What an unpleasant experience! These guests booked at the last minute and stayed for 2 days (I even reduced the minimum stay to accommodate their request). In the days before their arrival, the weather had been terrible—it rained a lot and was very windy. As a result, the pool water was a bit cloudy. I apologized to the guests and called the pool maintenance service both on the day of their arrival and during the only full day of their stay. I found their reaction completely excessive—especially their request for financial compensation for the inconvenience, and the threat of a negative review. On top of that, they left the house in a terrible state, with food scraps on the floor and dirty dishes left everywhere. I hope anyone reading their review also considers all the other guest reviews we’ve received since 2013 at Il Poggiarello and forms their own opinion.

Beautiful Views

Beautiful sweeping hilltop views from this charming villa for sunrise and sunset. We enjoyed the full kitchen and option to cook in and enjoy the pergola and pool! If you stay here be sure to pin your location as it’s easy for GPS to get confused and the Villa is about 15 minutes from the town of Montalcino.

True Tuscany

Very beautiful and quiet location. The surrounding landscape and views are stunning. Our group of four adults had plenty of room in house and outside patio. The pool with surrounding olive groove was so relaxing. Short drive to many Vineyards and Montalcino. Would very much recommend this anyone looking for a relaxing Tuscan visit.

Stunning stay in paradise

Stunning stay in a gorgeous, peaceful, one-in-lifetime setting. The private pool and surrounding views were unmatched, and the cottage is perfectly appointed, well supplied, tastefully decorated, cozy, and relaxing. The property manager went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed, and her recommendations were top-notch. We will most certainly be back. Perfect Family Landing Pad

We stayed here for 9 days with our family including three children, ages 6, 3, and 1.5, and it was perfect. We had just enough room to spread out and the kids adored the patio and pool. My husband and I took in the views after bedtime while enjoying a last glass of wine by the pool. The house had everything we needed and Camilla went above and beyond as our host. We saw so much of Tuscany, but the views from the house were some of the best. What a magical spot!!

We loved Il Poggiarello

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It’s a very reasonable drive to Montalcino - about 20 minutes - with similar drives to great wineries large and small. We definitely took advantage of the food and wine the area offers, both at restaurants and with some fabulous local steaks grilled on the poolside BBQ. Whether you plan on spending the day lounging by the pool and enjoying the beautiful scenery or exploring the area, Il Poggiarello is a wonderful place to stay.

Lovely villa with stunning views

Il Poggiarello is in the most stunning setting with wonderful views over the surrounding countryside. We had a great week here - loved the villa, terrace and the pool. We did not meet Camilla herself but her mother was very helpful and welcoming. We enjoyed exploring the towns and villages nearby - this part of Tuscany is so beautiful. Would definitely recommend this property and hope to return some day!

The house is cozy, warm, elegant but not pretentious, charming and modern at the same time.
