BEACHFRONT MAUI KIHEI HOUSE

Welcome to the beach! We open our home to you, your family and friends. This home and property was originally built as a family, beachfront vacation home and our intent is to share this wonderful home for years to come. This home has 4 bedrooms and 2-1/2 baths and air conditioning in all of the bedrooms and living areas as well as the perfect beach right outside your back door. (In the event you need more room, we also have a unique Hawaiian HOME on the 150' wide property. It is a very special home built in the 1960s. It has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and sleeps 6 guests. This adjacent home can be viewed at: VRBO #2062788. If you would like to rent both houses together, you will be able to sleep 16 guests.) The property is in a quiet residential neighborhood. One block away is the heart of Kihei Town, with local restaurants, pubs, fast food, music, night life, drug store, Kaiser and so much more.
Beautiful tropical plants adorn the property, including a number of coconut palm trees and a 100+ year-old banyan tree, banana trees and a lemon tree. Coconuts are trimmed from the trees twice a year; it is an amazing experience to see the trimmers shimmy their way up the trees and cut the coconuts out.
The house is a beautiful 4 bedroom, 2-1/2 bath home that sleeps 10 quests. Two of the bedrooms have king-size beds, a third has 2 queen beds and the 4th has 2 twin beds. The house has beautiful flooring, granite countertops and wooden kitchen cabinets. All 4 bedrooms are located on the 2nd story with a large deck (12 x 24) that overlooks the ocean. Both of the king bedrooms have sliding glass doors that access the large lanai. Morning coffee is a must from this location as you watch the ocean awake. It's like sitting on top of the world!
All of the beautiful furnishings are comfortable, making it easy to feel at home, relax and enjoy your vacation. The kitchen is fully stocked (including a blender, toaster oven, microwave and Hawaiian dish ware, rice cooker, coffee pot). The kitchen has great counter space and the dining table expands to seat 12 guests.
Relax on the large lanai facing the lawn and beach beyond, or lounge on deck chairs on the lawn. This home has everything you will need to enjoy your vacation---you feel at home the moment you walk in. You would never know you are one block from the main road of Kihei Town.
There is a hand built lava rock wall that fronts the property. There are a few reasons we decided to have the wall built---we want our guests to feel comfortable and secure and also for our guests can enjoy the wall and discover the beauty of lava, the fabric of our Island.
The house is adjacent to a 2-bedroom house under common ownership, which is also available to rent.
UNFORTUNATELY, WE DO NOT ALLOW WEDDINGS AND/OR RECEPTIONS ON THIS PROPERTY. THIS IS A GREAT PROPERTY TO HOUSE YOUR GUESTS IN, BUT NO FUNCTIONS ALLOWED.
A groundskeeper lives on site and can be reached by phone.

Amazing trip with families watching turtles nest on the beach every night

This home was our family’s base for a week of fun on Maui. The outdoor areas, deck and lanai, were wonderful places to sit and visit. The kitchen was large enough for 8 adults to move around as needed and the LR had enough seating also. The bedrooms were ample with lots of hangers in the closet to hang up clothes. The bathrooms were large with plenty of towels. I really enjoyed seeing the turtles come up on the beach each night and some were left there in the morning for me to watch return to the ocean. There were so many wonderful places to eat within walking distance. I highly recommend this house for a great getaway when on Maui.

Great trip with friends

Wonderful property! Perfect location, beautiful beach, plenty of room. Brian was a wonderful host, always quick to respond and very helpful! We also enjoyed a well equipped kitchen and details like extra plug ins and full length mirrors in the bedrooms. Loved seeing the turtles at night.

Amazing get-away place!

What an amazing property, right on the beach, beautiful views with spectacular sunsets, the sound of the waves and a delightful ocean breeze! We found the home in great condition with comfortable casual furnishings that made us feel right at home. All the right amenities were there, including a fully equipped kitchen, indoor and outdoor dining spaces for our family, a grassy yard to play games in, abundant wildlife (native birds, sea turtles on the beach every night), and a short walk to a swim beach just to the north. Brian was so easy to work with and responsive when we had questions before and during our stay. Could not ask for better, more engaged hosts! We loved our time here!!

Amazing Piece of Paradise

This property could not have been more amazing! We came as a family to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary, and this house was everything. Convenient, beautiful, and well appointed. There could be no better way to do Maui than this house. A+

Great Property

Almost on the beach with short walk to turtle strewn sand. Has only 2 1/2 baths - need one more. Clean and fully equipped. For 11 in our party a great deal. Close to restaurants and shopping. Very much enjoyed our stay.

Best VRBO ever!

I've stayed in many vacation rentals and this was by far the best! It easily accommodated our group of 10. We had breakfast every morning and most of our dinners on the patio. We barbequed burgers, steaks and hot dogs on the grill. I will recommend this home to all my friends and will definitely be back! Thank you!!!

Superb home, superb location, a perfect piece of paradise!

This house has it all! An amazing view on a quiet street that comfortably housed our party of 9. The house and lawn are beautiful and well taken care of, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Beach towels, chairs, shoes, toys, and boogie boards were provided. Shopping within walking distance. A quiet beach that kept our whole family (ages 10 to 70) entertained. We would not hesitate to stay here again!

Great House and Location

We really enjoyed our stay in Kihei. The house was in a great location, close to shops and restaurants, but also close enough to beach that you can hear the waves with the windows open. Also it was so close to where the turtles come up on the beach and I would say seeing them each night was the highlight of the trip. House also had yard games(we played many games of croquet) as well as boogie boards and beach chairs and beach towels available which was great. Owner went above and beyond to make sure we had a good stay and messaged us a couple times to make sure everything was going well. I would definitely recommend the house and stay here again if we return to Maui.

Beautiful house with local sea turtles

This is a beautiful house on a beautiful beach. Brian, the property manager, was extremely easy to work with. Access to the beach was easy, even for our 92 year old visitor. One slight caveat: in the visitor's book in the house it was mentioned that there are poisonous black urchins in the coral in the water right there by the house. Whether this is true or not we didn't establish, but we didn't feel comfortable getting into the water there too much. We just went down a ways farther. One more thing needs to be mentioned: there are Hawaiian green sea turtles that came up onto the beach every single night we were there!! I can't overestimate what a thrill that was! I highly recommend this house for a wonderful beach vacation & hope we get a chance to stay there again.

Wonderful Family Vacation Home

Brian was exceptionally helpful from the get go. The house was perfect for our extended family and had all the amenities we needed for wonderful days at the beach. The kitchen was well appointed and clean, with plenty of plates, utensils, and cooking gadgets. The outdoor space was perfect for our little ones to run and play. There was even a little kiddie pool, ideal for after-beach splashing. We enjoyed the lanai every day for cards games, lunch, dinner, and gathering. It was a great location to nearby Kihei shops, restaurants, souvenir markets, and Kalama park for the kids. Sunsets were magical with the onshore arrival of sea turtles each evening. We sat in wonder as their heads popped up and the waves carried them onto the sand. The most we counted was 19 one night. It was lovely if we rose early for morning walks and found some still lingering before heading out to the ocean for the day. I highly recommend The Palms for family vacations. Thank you, Brian, for making it so easy.

Amazing Experience

My family of 11 stayed at this property for 10 days and it was incredible! The house is situated on a quiet street but just a few blocks from shopping centers and restaraunts. The house is wonderful, we spent most of our time on the back patio and down at the beach, there's a grassy yard that the kids enjoyed immensely and the beach is 20 yards from the patio. We were so grateful for the supply of beach towels, boogie boards, and beach chairs! We had everything we needed. An awesome little addition that we used all the time was the out door shower, no dragging sand all over the house! Another thing we enjoyed was going to the beach each evening and watching the sea turtles come up to rest, they were everywhere and it was awesome! My entire family was able to relax and decompress and just enjoy the beauty of the island, due largely to the condition and location of this great home. We would all stay again!

Little Disappointed

House size was great! Kitchen was well stocked with everything that was needed. Yard space was nice. The outside area was great area with a grill and a large table where we ate. Little disappointed in the beach area. There was no beach area to sit by the water. It was a steep incline so not easy for a chair to sit by the water. However, it was neat to watch the turtles come up at sundown to sleep and watch swim in the water. At the end of our stay we were packing up to leave and we borrowed the cooler to take our refig food to a family member who was also vacationing on the island and have one last picnic on the island for a few hours homeowner got really mad. Cooler was returned before the housekeeper left. Housekeeper was there when we left and we packed up 3 grocery bags of dry food for them as a courtesy. Even cleaned up a bit so they would not have much to do. An hour later the homeowner sent me a mean text accusing us of smoking in the house! Which we did NOT! I live in a smoke free home and I would never allow that! I am very sensitive to smoke so I would have know if someone did smoke in it. We did vacation with some smokers and they ALWAYS smoked outside! What a way to end a dream vacation!!

Great location and responsive owner BUT this home needs deep cleaning, multiple repairs, and updates

Great location but the home is in desperate need of a deep cleaning, multiple repairs, and updates. At this price point there are many opportunities for improvement. We had a moderate kitchen plumbing leak (disposal) on day two (July 4th) and owner was responsive. Maintenance stopped the leak within an appropriate period of time. We've provided opportunities for improvement since those aren’t mentioned in other reviews and the character count doesn't allow a full review with positives and opportunities for improvement. *****Feedback was provided to owner while we were there and he mentioned all issues will be addressed and a complete overhaul of the home is in order.***** Identified almost immediately that the home needed a deep cleaning. It was frustrating to start our week by cleaning up what should've been done prior to our arrival since every stay is charged a $350 cleaning fee. - Heavy dust/dirt buildup on multiple locations within eyesight (ceiling and exhaust fans, common surfaces, and walls) - Showers neglected: Mold in random places and significant calcium buildup on the shower heads - Fecal matter splattered on wall adjacent to toilets in addition to an accumulation of dust and dirt - Heavy dust and dirt underneath beds and couch - Found various items from previous guests in between the couch cushions Home lacked a guidebook - Took over 10 minutes to figure out how to lock the front door. Deadbolt isn’t aligned. Owner mentioned guidebook was removed a few weeks ago and that a new one is coming soon. Kitchen is ill-equipped - Pots/pans and utensils are a hodgepodge and have been used and abused - Broken drawers - Few kitchen basics you expect at a VRBO at this price point (e.g., aluminum foil) Home only provides a starter kit of toilet paper for the week and eight bath towels and washcloths in a home that is advertised to sleep ten. Would've been good to know in advance that we needed to buy toilet paper when we did our initial grocery store trip. Providing a Swiffer or vacuum cleaner would make daily house maintenance much easier due to all the sand that comes with a beach access home. Provided broom and dustpan isn't desirable for the sand.

It was an excellent property. It was all that we could hope for other than less wind! The beach was nice the water was typical Hawaii better wear water shoes! The location was located near anything we needed easily within 10-15 minute drive! Great location from the airport 20 minutes or so! The property is very lovely, clean, well maintained and supplied with vacation necessities!

Beautiful view. Appreciated the many beach chairs/umbrellas. Kitchen not as well-stocked as I had hoped. Air conditioning worked well. Large, comfortable home/ beds. Master shower is tiny. Bedroom furniture is old. The large grass area in back of home is public property. I assumed it was the property’s backyard. It’s a nature reserve- it’s lovely, but open to public. The description of the “sea wall” on the back of the property is ambiguous. It is a short wall around the outside patio/dining table. Can’t really see the ocean well sitting at the outside back table. Our first day there a group of men on bikes were hanging out in the back grass area under one of the trees drinking a lot of beer/playing music and blocking the path to the beach. Not too peaceful. At dusk, 15-20 sea turtles swim ashore to sleep. It’s a majestic sight to see as the sun sets.

Easy walk to good food and shopping. Beach front with expansive lawn and beautiful trees. House is comfortable with great AC and well equipped. Best part are the 10-20 turtles who appeared each nite after sunset to rest on the beach. Cordial prompt communication with management. Nice artwork in house and lots of bird watching. Grandkids had a great time.

Retirement Party

Celebrating my husband’s retirement with our grown children and significant others. This was a perfect place for us. The house is beautiful, the yard, the beach, the location. All 9 adults were very happy to be here!

Perfect for large family

We are legally permitted to rent our homes for short term rentals. But to find a property that is 150' wide with a huge lawn area that will lead you to the white sandy beach---very difficult!!
There are two homes on this property. You are able to rent just the 4 bedroom, 2-1/2 bath home, if that is all the room you need or the 2 bedroom 2 bath adjacent home or both. Your home is still very private and neither home can see each other from their respective lanais.
