This house is in an amazing beach location for families. We had four kids (2-ten year olds, and 2-7 year olds), four parents and two grandparents. We had our separate bedrooms and plenty of family space for eating and lounging. The house is not new and shows some wear, but we found it to be extremely clean and very well stocked with the important things we needed.The beach and quiet ocean for swimming and boogie boarding was perfect for the kids and even this grandpa! Having the a very nice pool, shade for the hot parts of the day, restaurants, grocery stores, ice cream along with the beach to swim and walk is perfect!

My family enjoyed our stay at Casa Luarca. We especially loved the pool area which was definitely the highlight of the house. The accessibility to the beach is unmatched.Some things to note is that there is a lot of ants throughout the house, including the bedroom. My family had to buy ant spray to manage them. Also, the kitchen of the house wasn’t super clean but we dealt with it. Another big thing to keep in mind is that the housekeeper stays on the same property in a small back house. She was kind and we didn’t have any issues, however, there were a few times where she had family over and there were multiple people on the property. We had no issues, however, as precautious people with children, it did make us a bit wary. Another thing is that the housekeeper has two dogs and, unfortunately, they barked A LOT throughout the night. It was honestly quite annoying but we were able to sleep through it.Overall, we were happy with our stay. The AC units in the bedrooms worked great! The pool area is beautiful and the beach access is awesome.

Casa Luarca was the best vacation ever! The owner contacted us before our arrival and discussed everything we needed to know. The on site caretaker Brian, was helpful, courteous and welcoming. The grounds are well kept, the pool was always inviting, each bedroom is like a hotel unto itself! This property is a "must" for anyone interested in having the best vacation ever.

The property was very nice--my husband and I came and brought our adult children and teen aged grandchildren and we all enjoyed being there. We enjoyed being so close to the beach which was lovely and so gentle. We also loved having such a beautiful pool. Both the ocean and the pool were refreshing and a nice way to cool off since we came in the summer. The layout of the bedrooms worked very well for us, giving everyone plenty of room and there was a lovely dining table on the beautiful covered patio where we could eat and gather with fans that kept it cool. The kitchen was very warm when we cooked and not as large as we love to have but it was very well stocked with dishes and tools for cooking. The caretakers were lovely and cared for the pool each day, were available to help with anything we needed and set up a tent and chairs for us on the beach as well as showing us other beach things that were available. The owners were also very available to answer questions about the area and help us arrange visits to local attractions. We loved having an easy area to walk near the house where we saw wildlife and friendly people and had restaurants to go to on the beach. Each night held a different beautiful sunset! It was a very relaxing and peaceful place.

This home has lots of beds :) plenty of room for a party of at least 15 possibly more. The best part of the home is it’s on the beach. Walk out and there you are:) it also has a private pool which our family enjoyed with a large outdoor space for eating and relaxing

We enjoyed everything almost!! AC works was in all bedrooms this house has ooen air concept and is okder if you don’t mind some character and not super perfect cleanliness it is grest we soent most of our time outside and used the bedrooms st night. The smoke from burning in the neighborhood was the only issue for us otherwise we enjoyed the pool beach and food!!

Casa Luarca was a great beach front location. Fun beach front restaraunts just an easy walk down the beach. The caretaker lives on the property and was very quick to respond to a couple questions we had. We had an issue with the airconditioning in one bedroom and he quickly arrived to check it out. The next day they were putting in a new unit. You can't ask for better service than that. We hope to visit again soon.

We traveled with 6 adults 3 kids (one child who is 9 and lives with profound autism and is mostly nonverbal). The set up was perfect ! Each family had a wing and plenty of beds ! And my autistic son loved the pool and going out to the beach. Having our own place was perfect for his sensory needs. We worked with G&GTravel to book not only shared van transport to do excursions but also to have two local ladies cook homemade traditional meals here for us ! It was amazing and so relaxing. We took evening walks on the beach. It was so peaceful and we loved to hear the sounds of birds and the ocean. Our only tip is you do need to supply your own napkins, paper towels, dishwasher soap, garbage bags. etc. It took us a few trips to the grocery store to get everything we needed. We had an awesome vacation and we definitely recommend this stay !!!!

Great Family Getaway

Nice home. Good restaurants in walking distance

The house is comfortable. It was large enough for the nine of us. There are some minor quirks that deal with the location of electrical switches, but otherwise the house was nice, and it is a very short walk to the ocean and nearby restaurants.

Location, location, LOVE Jose and Rebecca

The location of this house is perfect! We loved going from the patio, to the pool, to the beach, to the ocean... all within steps of each other. The only thing better was Jose and Rebecca, the care takers who were so kind to us during our stay.

We stayed here too attend a family wedding

Had a great time staying at casa Lucara. Christian was attentive and responded when needed. Care takers are the most beautiful family and take pride in looking after the property. We also used the venue and took wedding photos.

Location is amazing!

We absolutely enjoyed our time at this home! The location is beautiful ! The grounds keepers Bryan and Laura were delightful to deal with! Our grandson had a great time playing with their son Jacob! I highly recommend this place, although the house itself is in need of some repairs and updating, is why I gave it 3 stars for cleanliness. We would stay here again! Thank you 😊

Location, Location, Location!

Amazing property right on Playa Hermosa. Walk past the pool through the gate and on to the beach.Tons of space in the home, but the true value is the outdoor spaces(patio/lanai and pool) and the location. Communication was great and there is a little house on the front of the property where the property manager lives. He cares for the pool daily and was there if we needed anything. I can’t say enough good things about our stay here.

Awesome Location!

Casa Luarca's location was PRIMO. Literally on the beach. Just a couple of minutes walk to beach-front bars and restaurants. Awesome pool, and hanging out in the patio/pool area was on our daily agenda. Excellent communication with Christian the owner, as he handled all of our needs with pleasure. We'll be back soon! Casa Luarca was amazing

Our party of 9 had a great week-long stay. Christian was very receptive to any of our concerns and helpedwith booking the airport shuttle and tours. Laura and Bryan (caretakers) were very kind (even though we couldn’t speak Spanish) so we had some communication challenges but smiles and hugs are universal. The WhatsApp is a must. We used it to order pizza and contact others for tours etc. Highly recommend the Frank The Tank catamaran sunset tour.also. Pura Vida.

Great location

The location was wonderful. There were restaurants and stores within walking distance. The beach was beautiful and only steps away. We enjoyed watching the birds and iguanas. The pool was lovely and we BBQd. My only complaint was it was extremely hot and the main part of the home was 90 degrees. I realize this is common in CR. There was however AC in the bedrooms. The home is older and rustic. It could use a deep clean. Overall we had a great time there.

Beautiful location, right on the beach

We spent 4 nights at this wonderful home. There is a beautiful outdoor area (patio & pool) and it is minutes from the ocean. Laura & Bryan live on the property and attend to your every need. They are fabulous! The layout of the house is fine, except for one of the bedrooms that you access by going outside the house (but just a few steps through the courtyard). It would be difficult to put just young children out there, but my husband & I loved it because it was like having our own private guesthouse. We could walk to markets & restaurants which was so nice. The ocean was warm and not crowded at all, even though we were there over Christmas. I would stay here again without hesitation!

A wonderful house in Playa Hermosa

We had a great time at Casa Luarca. The house is right in the beach and has a wonderful pool. The kitchen has been updated and the master upstairs is lovely and the downstairs bedrooms are all comfy and have good AC. We did not need the teen style bunk room. The beach towels and pool float and sand toys were a welcome help. Bryan and Laura took wonderful care of the pool and looked after us —reminding us to lock up and put away any clothes and valuables so as not to encourage any petty theft which I guess is a problem in any beach community. We always felt safe and only had friendly interactions with the locals. Playa Hermosa is a family friendly beach town and convenient to Liberia airport and other nice towns along the northern Guanacaste coast. Thanks for a great stay!

Beautiful Paradise

The property is beautiful and well taken care of. The young ones loved to be in the pool by 7 and back and forth to the ocean all day. It was walking distance to restaurants and groceries and only 30 minutes to the airport. Playa Hermosa is a beautiful beach and certainly not as busy as others. The Boogie boarding was great for the kids. Even had howler monkeys next door! It is close to Coco which has more services. The caretakers are wonderful and take great care of the property Our grandkids loved playing with their son. There were tears when we left. We would definitely stay at Casa Luarca again. We miss the sound of the ocean putting us to sleep. Christian was very responsive and good to deal with. Thankyou for sharing your home!

Family vacation

The location cannot be beat. Loved having the house within steps of the beach. Able to walk to a few restaurants and a grocery store easily. Beautiful view from the downstairs and from the upstairs balcony. LOTS of space inside the house. Air conditioning was great in all bedrooms. Negatives would be - there was trouble with the pool filter for the first few days causing the water to be very cloudy. Also there is no hot tub as mentioned (we didn't miss it but don't expect one). Also did not see a smart tv in the house. We didn't care and wouldn't have used it anyway but in case you were wanting one it wasn't there that we saw. The houses caretaker was Bryan - he was wonderful. I wish we knew a little more spanish to make communicating easier. We used phone translator. Would definitely stay here again.

Sorry but Hot tub has never been offered. Please advise where it is shown to correct it. On regards to de pool temporary measures will be taken these days in order to have a final and more invasive intervention on the 3/4 th week of July
