Things to do...
Food :-
The nearest shops are the local Carrefour and petrol station at Vezenobres. This is open on Sunday mornings. Small local shops and bakers are in the next village at Mejannes les Ales approx 5km. Ales is the nearest town (9km or 13min drive) and has a range of shops and restaurants including a large hypermarket (Cora). Closer to the house there is a fabulous restaurant (Auberge des Voutins) which always has a superb menu.
Locally there is a rich cultural history and plenty for those who want to explore. There are multiple historic sites close by including the Market towns of Uzes and Anduze and well as the Roman city museums and amphitheatre at Nimes. The nearby cave systems at Trubuc are fantastic, with regular guided tours.
There are two nearby aerial walkways (high ropes and zip wires) which are great fun for both children and adults. Alternatively canoeing from Collias takes you right underneath the historic Pont de Gard along the river Gard.
The nearest beach is 'La Grande Motte' is just over an hours drive away and is 10km of gently sloping sandy beach with sand dunes. The beach cafes offer excellent food and there is municipal parking next to the dunes.
For the more energetic there is paragliding at Seynes, rafting in the Cevenne and the Ardeche, and a national go-karting track in the nearby town Ales. The local area is great for cycling (both road and offroad) and there is a local horse riding school for those who enjoy riding.
There is a fumade or natural spring spa resort in a town close by. Golf is available at Nimes and Uzes and in the Winter skiing is possible in the Cevennes at Mount Lozere.
For those who prefer to simply chill out and relax the house and surrounding land is completely private and tranquil.
