About the host
Hosted by Kevin Klein
Kevin and Jaime are both retires college professors at Illinois College. Jaime taught education classes and Kevin taught agribusiness and economics. Kevin started restoring native Illinois prairie habitat on the property in 1990 and has found this vacation rental business gives him the opportunity to share his love of the prairie and nature with others.
Why they chose this property
If you like the peace, quiet, look and sounds of nature, this rental is a perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This property offers four distinct seasons all of which have their own beauty for those willing to look. Prairies are vast, but much of their beauty is in the small details. This 'Tiny House' feels bigger than many tiny houses yet is only 570 square feet of living space. A carefully designed use of space makes it seem much larger. When you stay, spend some time walking the trails and experience why we named it Peace on the Prairie.
What makes this property unique
Illinois, the Prairie State. When you stay at Peace on the Prairie you can experience a small slice of what Illinois Landscape once looked like yet still have all of the conveniences of modern society. Like peace and quiet? Guests frequently comment on how quiet the property is. Like to walk? You can walk the trails cut into the prairie or take long walks on country roads. All of it is peaceful and beautiful. Like to fish? Unfortunately, river otters have eaten all the fish in our pond, so fishing is no longer an option. However, Lake Jacksonville is a first class bass and crappie fishing lake if you have an Illinois fishing license.
