Really enjoyed our time here! Even woke up to horses right outside one morning. The house had great space and everything one needed. One of our favorite lodgings of the trip! Would definitely stay here again.
The cottage was perfect for us. It is in the great location for exploring the Snaefellsnes. Good restaurant nearby and a comfortable place to come home to after a long day of hiking and sightseeing. I appreciated the laundry facilities.
Our stay at Sodulsholt was amazing! Northern lights and horses out front the first night and morning, ease in seeing the peninsula full day, and outings to the Golden Circle and then retiring off of the beaten path. Beautiful views and all we needed for comfort. We can't wait to return and cannot recommend to others more!
Wonderful cottage, clean, comfortable beds, equipped with anything you might need. Warm and wind proof. Beautiful property and felt secluded without being far off roads. Great location for exploring Snaefelles peninsula easily in 1-2 days. Some great, small restaurants nearby as well! Appreciated all the communication and suggestions for shopping before arrival. Great place, would love to stay again in summer.
We loved our stay here. The cottage is one of a few located on a large horse farm near the Snaefellsnes peninsula. We were able to see the Northern lights from indoors due to large windows. We were also able to arrange horse ride through the property very easily. Beautiful view of the mountains. Close to food and attractions but feels very secluded.
We had a great stay. Opportunities to see the Northern Lights and horses up close. The property was clean with more than enough room for our party of four. Windows everywhere so you can enjoy the surroundings. One warning - there is a tunnel getting there from Reykjavík where you have to pay a toll on line. No signs explaining that so beware.

Beautiful cabin
We had a wonderful time staying in this brand new cabin. It had everything we needed, including a spectacular view from the deck, where we could watch the moon rise over the mountains. This house was close to the national park, Stikkisholmur and many other great locations. Within a few kilometers, there were great sites to visit and explore, such as Eldborg volcano, and the geothermal hot pots, which were terrific after a long day of hiking. My boys loved their first horseback riding lesson on this horse farm and we loved getting to visit with the horses and the friendly cat! Before we arrived, I had some questions for the owner, which were answered immediately and a question during our stay that was also answered immediately. We loved this rental and wished we could have stayed longer!

Thank you for the kind review - our farm and cottages are a special place and we want this be a comfortable home away from home for our visitors. Thank you for visiting Sodulsholt!
Fazit: Volle 5*
The cottage, with large picture windows is in a perfect location for watching the Northern Lights. We lucked out and we’re able to see them. The outside doors are well insulated but could be a challenge to open, close and lock.
Spent 2 nights here during our visit from the United States. Location is quiet and peaceful with beautiful horses outside your front door. The kitchen is well-appointed with dishwasher, microwave, stove/oven, fridge and honestly everything else you need. My 8 year-old son loved the loft sleeping area and flying his kite in the small yard adjacent to the cottage.
Location is a good entry point for the peninsula and we explored the area during an afternoon drive. It was easy to get to from Reykjavík and to continue our trip to the Golden Circle area.
The scenery was stunning and I found myself gazing out of every window in the morning. Would definitely recommend for any type of traveler, but especially families seeking a comfortable, home-like stay. Hope to come back again!
Great location for exploring the Snæfellsnes Peninsula!
Well stocked, immaculate and views for days! The cottages overlook so much and are well spaced so you're not on top of your neighbors. This was our starting point upon arrival in to Iceland for an 8 day trip. I would highly recommend staying here as it was an easy drive from KEF airport. Stopping at the Bonus grocery store was easy and along the way (about 30 min out from the cottages). There's everything you could need in terms of pots, pans and utensils to prepare a hearty meal in the kitchen. We did not have the luxury of a Northern Lights viewing while staying due to cloud cover, but it certainly had no impact on our stay!
The HORSES!!!! Made my trip. I booked here because of them. They roam around a very large property, so you won’t always see them. When I did, it was a dream! The cottage itself was so cozy with full kitchen & other convenient accommodations. Everything was so clean & new. Almost like I was the first to stay there. Friends had the cottage next door. It was a lot of fun in a fairly remote location. Nice restaurant 15 minutes down the road. Otherwise, bring groceries & use the kitchen. I made friends with the owner’s dog, he was the sweetest & escorted me around the property!😂🐾 I would love to stay here again.
These cabins are on a working pony farm and are just about perfect. The view in front is rolling towards the sea and behind is gorgeous snow capped mountains. The cabins are well equipped and quite comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!
AMAZING sunrises, sunsets, long range views and an awesome display of the Northern Lights on October 10 around 9-10 pm. Thank you, Oli! Enjoyed visiting ALL the spots the host recommended in their PDF file. Everything was close and easy to get to. The house was perfect and had everything you needed. Staff friendly, communications were detailed and quick. Highly recommend. We will be coming back soon! THANK YOU!
My teenager said it best: “ it’s like IKEA got together with a high- end homebuilder and built a house”.
The house is small but perfectly planned and in pristine shape. Squeaky clean, too.. We had everything we needed. Laundry is in the barn. Wifi works great, though the property is really out in the country. Gotta plan your trip to the grocery store! The barn staff were super nice and agreed to take us on a horse ride (extra $70 per person). It was so cool to interact with and ride on Icelandic horses. A highlight of our trip.
An excellent property - very cosy and well equipped. We loved the bedroom up in the rafters! The property is 30mins from the nearest town but well located for touring the Snaefells peninsula. Very peaceful, very relaxing.
Everything about this property is magical. The horses are beautiful and add to the stunning view from the cabin, which is very cozy and very clean. I would definitely come back and stay again!
Everything you need and in a perfect location. The cabin was clean and in perfect condition. It was an ideal spot for driving around the peninsula. The ponies were adorable and my kids were thrilled to ride one.
