The house was a nice location for a family vacay and big enough for people to have some personal space! Though no beach, there was an area near the bank that was clear and rock free so we could sit on our rafts! Friendly neighbors, also!

Thanks so much for being a great guest and the review. Hope to see you again in the future. K
good stay- beds could be better-potable water would be good to have bring plenty- wonderful location beautiful lake nice neighbors- fun history-cabin was a little cluttered but worked great for our group we had a good time
Loved all the amenities available in the house from life jackets to toys, games, and movies. We really appreciated all the options for sleeping arrangements
Property didn’t have a/c but owner said it was a mistake and will be correcting it on VRBO site and other than first night we didn’t need it. Be prepared to pack out your own garbage and dump is open on limited days, that was my only complaint. Otherwise our family had a terrific time at Pappas and will definitely return.

Great location; Not-so-great experience
On the positive side, this house has a great location, a true "lake cottage" vibe in that you feel like you're in a time warp from 50 years ago, and the vintage bar area is really cool.
On the negative side, there were lots of issues with this house, particularly the maintenance and cleanliness. And it needs some upgrades, especially regarding the bathrooms. The owner has assured me these issues will be addressed but they did adversely affect our family's stay.

Already addressed ALL of the things on her private email to me. Most specific is the requirement that our caretaker will take photos of the house and send to me after each cleaning to assure it is up to standards. Additional photos of the bathrooms will be added to the site once I get there next week to assure an accurate portrayal of the house is conveyed. Thanks for staying and for the feedback as it helps me to make it better.

Great for big groups!
The kitchen is very well stocked and on the bigger end. I was surprised that some of the knives were sharp and they had a great large non stick frying pan to cook for large groups. There are a lot of beds which is great to accommodate big groups like ours. The porch is great too! There's lots of seating because of the built in bench along the railing. There were three stand up paddle boards that we took out on the lake that were in great condition which come included with the house. The shower upstairs was dirtier but it was no problem to share the downstairs shower. There were loads of toys and games for you to use. The house has a good layout for big groups of people to get together. The owner is very responsive and addresses any issues you have.

Thanks fir review. Ik will check upstairs bath. I’m hoping it’s nit dirt but the iron stains on the walls from our water. Visit again.
The cabin was a splendid experience. Plenty of places to sleep, coupled with an exquisite cabin feel. Fun bar on the main level. Cool decorations to give you a true taste of northwoods. Great place for a group of friends/family to catch up and remember the good times. Fun conversations and history lessons with the neighbors, who were very kind and informative with the history of Bass Lake and of course, the fishing report. We were able to tie up our boat, and enjoy Bass Lake for all it’s beauty: fishing, skiing, and boarding the day away. (Followed by golf in the evening). Highly recommend if you need extra space. You will surely find it in Papa’s house. I would stay again should the opportunity present itself. Highly recommend coming from someone who grew up and has deep appreciation for the northwoods. RR

Thanks so much for the review. I'm glad you had a great time. Please come again! K
Very comfortable, homey atmosphere
Reminded me so much of the Lake cottages we’d go to when I was a kid! Spacious, with plenty to do. Golfing was excellent for my husband and the teen boys. The lake was cool and clean, I’m pretty sure that if we had put more effort in, we’d have caught a lot of fish. Early morning runs and then a swim was the best!
All in all, it was a comfortable stay, and I would recommend.
