If you have any issues with check-in and check-out times or any special requests for your arrival, please just let us know. Some friends from the East Coast cannot start a day without Dunkin' Donuts coffee. Not just any coffee, it has to be their brand. Caf or Decaf? Soy milk or Half-n-half? If you have a request, just let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
We look forward to hearing from you, and we hope you'll decide right now to at least reach out to us with an inquiry.
With the summer demand in downtown Mountain View, we usually rent this home to one Guest for the full 3 months of Jun/Jul/Aug. So PLEASE do not make a reservation request for that period for any shorter than 2 months. You can feel free to send us an inquiry and we can update you, but PLEASE do not send an actual reservation.

Our host was very response and helpful with questions we had about the home and the area. The Property is in a neighborhood with many lovely sidewalk streets and is close to Castro Street (many restaurants). Highly recommend for a Mountain View visit.
We were in an extremely convenient location that permitted us to really enjoy Mountain View and the surrounding areas. The home has everything you need. Mountain View, like this beautiful home, is very clean and has a very cool vibe. But what really made our stay so enjoyable were our hosts, Mike and Anne. We have traveled throughout the country and in numerous locations around the world. Hands-down, Mike & Anne are the best hosts we’ve ever had. They are so accommodating and were truly interested in making sure that our trip was a success. We are grateful beyond measure. Thank you! Riley and Mary Allen
We spent one night but had an amazing time. The kids played board games and enjoyed the white board as well. Had a chance to unplug and recharge our batteries. We walked to Castro St, full of amazing restaurants and sweets for everyone! Home was clean and charming.
Mike (and Anne) were great host’s and made us feel so welcome. They were very forthcoming and kept us informed about everything concerning the house and the area. We could wish for no more. The location is great with restaurants and cafes is walking distance. Thank you Mike and Anne!
This sweet house was perfect for our stay in Mountain View. It had charm, comfy beds, a well equipped kitchen, was located on a lovely street in a lovely neighborhood, and walking distance to a lively street (Castro street) with shops and yummy restaurants. On top of that communication with the owners was so great and timely… plus they took care to have the little things in place that made you feel welcome… for one, nice towels hung and ready for use… just like you would have for guests in your home…
I was also delighted that the TV worked easily, without a lot of study and effort :))
We look forward to staying here again when we are in the area :)
Great experience all around. The hosts were accommodating and easy to communicate with. The home was very cute and clean. The home is perfectly located just a short walk to Castro Street and Caltrain. The only comment I have is that the bed is really firm. This wasn't an issue for me (I loved it), but was a bit of a challenge for my husband.
This property has great walkability to restaurants, bars, drug stores and more. The accommodations are simple but adequate for a renter needing a central “home-base” in the area.
We had a great experience renting from Mike (and Anne) for an overnight with friends after seeing a show at Shoreline. The home is small with basic amenities, but is cute and clean with a lovely yard in a great neighborhood. Mike was easy to communicate with, flexible with our arrival and departure time, and welcomed us when we arrived. Highly recommend!
This two bedroom house is in an ideal location if you want to enjoy a visit to Mountain View. It is in a quiet neighborhood, and yet it is only a five minute walk to Castro Street, where you'll find a number of excellent restaurants. Plus it's only a fifteen minute drive excellent several excellent nature preserves (e.g. Rancho San Antonio).
The house itself is clean and very comfortable. The owners are affable and close by. What more could you ask for?
Perfect base for our Summer Vacation in the Bay Area
We rented the Dana St property for a month in summer as an escape from our hot summer back at home. We used it as a base for all our activities in the Bay Area ( Monterrey, SF, San Jose, Oakland are all A short drive away) . The place is a cute house in a perfect walkable (the gold standard for walkable) neighborhood. The Castro street restaurants are a 5-10 minute walk. The awesome farmers market comes twice a week. The house is small but we found it worked perfect for our family of four. There is a nice backyard patio to lounge or workout in the morning. We didn’t realize when we first booked that there was no drive way, but there is always plenty of parking. Mike was always very attentive and helpful. We would definitely stay here again if the opportunity arose. I think the house is reasonably priced for the excellent, safe and walkable neighborhood. The house is older but everything worked well. I am confident that if anything did not work the owner would be very attentive to get it working again. We never had any issues during our stay.
If you're looking for a quaint cottage that is literally a 5 min walk (probably less) to Castro St. in Mountain View, you can't beat this! It's a brief stroll to the pastry shop and Icicles (yum!) Working with Mike was a breeze. The beds and couch were comfortable. Parking was never a problem. I can't wait to come back. :)
Location excellent. Convenient to Downtown restaurants, Farmer’s Market, Public Library, CVS, Civic Center and Shoreline Park on the SF Bay. Every freeway is close. Old world charm and gentrified neighborhood.
I stayed here with my sons (ages 3 and 6) on our annual ballpark trip. This was our home base for our ballgame and other excursions and we loved it. The neighborhood is so lively and quiet at the same time. Very beautiful area. The house was simple and clean and the communication with the owners was fantastic. Will stay here again if I’m in the area for work or play. A perfect little charming place to relax and recharge or use a home base for going out and about. Loved it.
Great stay in Mountain View / access to Shoreline Amphitheater
Great communication with the owners throughout the stay. Walking distance to everything in Mountain View - cafes, restaurants… and only 2.5 miles from the Shoreline Amphitheater. The house is quaint and simple which met our needs. My only complaint would be the bed frames were a little squeaky and I’m a light sleeper. Otherwise great!
This rental is located just a few blocks from just about anything you’d need: restaurants, cafes, drug stores, parks, expressway. It is a small, older home with rather simple amenities so I would recommend this property as good “home base” for your local adventures.
Walking distance to Castro Street and the Steven’s Creek Trail.

Great location near everything
We needed a base while our daughter attended swim camp at Stanford University. It only took twenty minutes to get there each morning.
The house is located in a wonderful neighborhood within walking distance of everything in Mountain View. The house was comfortable and well equipped.
Mike and Anne are excellent hosts. Not being familiar with the area, we followed their suggestions on dinning and couldn't have been happier. With so many places to choose, this really made it easy.
We hope to return for another Stanford swim camp so we can stay with you in Mountain View again.
Thank you!

Great location. House and yard need some TLC
This place is great for a stay in Mountain View.
Pros
1. Easy access to downtown Mountain View with lots of great bars and restaurants only 3-4 blocks away.
2. 4-5 blocks to Cal Train so you can enjoy the weather in the South Bay, but also easy access to a Giants game.
3. Easy access to 280 or 101 to get up to the city or to the airport.
4. The owner Mike was right next door and was quick to respond to anything. Very accommodating.
Cons
1. No dishwasher for our week long stay hand washing got old.
2. No central AC most of our stay this was fine, but the last two days the house got very hot and the widow AC unit only cooled the front bedroom. Also several of the windows would not stay open.
3. The backyard could be a big positive for this place, but it was not in good shape lots of debris in the yard and some of the furniture was broken.
All in all a good place that could be great with some updates.

About the host
Hosted by Anne and Mike
Anne and Mike have been a couple since meeting at the University of Michigan in 1986. We love to travel and have lived in France, Japan, and China. We also had the pleasure of taking 18 months to travel the world in 1998 and 1999, visiting 15+ countries on a very low budget. We settled in beautiful Mountain View, CA in 2000 and have two active boys. We have rented people's places on some of our world travels and our goal is always to leave the house just as we found it.
