Cute little cabin we used as our home base while visiting Fredericksburg. Our pup enjoyed it as well! Wish we could have stayed longer to explore the property as well!
This cabin is a great private getaway that is still not too far to many places to eat and relax in Hill Country. It is very dog friendly and Maggie and Greg are great hosts. It is clean, cozy and set up for a comfortable stay. It you want to get away from it all, this is the spot for you.
Last weekend, my husband and I stayed at this wonderful guest house in the Hill Country with our dog Gunther. We had a good time seeing family, it is close to Boerne, Bandera and Fredricksburg which will visit next time. Nice wineries, hiking places to eat and shopping. Nice time we wil be sure to stay longer!
We had an amazing stay, from check- in to out everything went smoothly, and Mags was an absolute pleasure to deal with and meet. The pictures absolutrly don't do this priperty justice, and we cannot wait to come back. The location is beyond beautiful, and the home has everything you could possibly need as well as a ton of stuff for your dogs. 10/10 recommend!
My experience renting this property was great. Maggie, the owner, was wonderful and we will go back! A dog friendly cabin too, with all the “doggie fixins”, made for a fail proof stay, for us! Thank you so much! Our out of town guest enjoyed the location too, and did I mention the view from the deck!? Awesome!
This was such a great experience and stay. We regret we could not stay longer. The communication and responsiveness was a joy and above our expectations. The personal touch, even coming to meet us late at night so we could find our way, is something I've never had before. We will definitely be back to enjoy the gorgeous sunrises again.
I’ve NV had such an amazing experience and host…we were far away from everywhere I needed to be for my daughter’s wedding weekend and Marg knew I was there for my daughter’s wedding and knew I was taking my 13 year old Oreo and she checked on Oreo alllllll throughout allllll the days we stayed…she would take her outside for fresh air and potty breaks and would send me updates…she gave me the peace of mind I needed!! The place was breathtaking…the views INSANE!! And even though it was a long trip in and out I’d stay there 100 xs over just for the views and especially getting to see marg again and hopefully visit more!! I’ll nv be able to Thank her enough ❤️❤️❤️
This was a planned trip for four generations of females. Margaret went above and beyond to make our trip a wonderful experience. I was also celebrating my birthday and she helped to make the day extra special by bringing me a beautiful bouquet of flowers. The home is stocked with everything you could need or want. Margaret was always available to answer any questions we had. The charging station was a lifesaver, and the rain falling on the tin roof was an unexpected surprise. We made some amazing memories due in large part to the wonderful hospitality! We look forward to returning for another adventure.
We couldn't have asked for a better property or experience. The house is two levels, with the bed on the bottom level (some earlier reviews mentioned that this was upstairs; they have moved it downstairs) and a seating area upstairs. The stairs are very steep, so keep that in mind if that would be a problem for you. The best part, though, was how dark the skies were. My husband is an astronomy teacher and avid stargazer, & he says this was the best dark sky viewing he has experienced aside from McDonald Observatory in West Texas. The back porch is perfect for just sitting and watching the stars. The adirondack chairs out front would be perfect during meteor showers. We will definitely be back! Thanks, Maggie and Greg for letting us share your slice of heaven!
Unfortunately, I ended up being basically bedridden with pneumonia during our entire stay. However, I was able to rest with no responsibilities to speak of, my husband was still able to work remotely and it was a great comfort to me to have my daughter and all four of our pets with us. We were in transition- moving from one city to another and I was so happy to not have to board my pets. Maggie was so gracious and helpful - communication was great.
I wasn’t able to meet her face to face but she is a lovely person and a wonderful host. It was a very peaceful and quiet stay yet, if you feel well, there are many things to do and see in the area as well as some good restaurants. I know the area, having come to Boerne many times over a dozen years to see our daughter & her family. It didn’t exactly end up as a vacation for me, but it was just what I needed. Very comfortable stay, in spite of everything!!
Want to get away? This is the place for you. Exactly what we were looking for. If they don't have it, you probably don't need it. In our excitement to get there, we blew right thru Comfort without getting gas. Got to the property and the tank was on E and the low fuel light had come on. Weren't sure we could get back to town. I looked around and found a 1 gal gas can. No gas in it but it was a start in case we ran out on the way in. Ended up not needing the gas can but still...Any place that has Louisiana Hot Sauce in the fridge is on my forever list. Ended up not needing that either but it was comforting to know it was there if i did. 5 stars.
Informative & friendly communication, super detail oriented, kitchen suitable for truly cooking, and while we brought what we like for our morning coffee, they actually had an assortment of sweeteners and two types of creamer. (If you're arriving late & don't make a grocery run that night, you'll be okay for a good night's sleep before your supply run.) The knives are sharp, there's more than one pot & pan...they even have a tortilla warmer.
Views are amazing, and if you're rained in there are books & trivia games...along with internet & TV. (If it isn't raining, explore the property.)
The dog friendly bar has been raised for us. Everything is here, other than food, treats, & favorite toys.
Explore Comfort and the surrounding area, and spend some time chilling on the patio, in the yard, or down the road at the wine deck (bring your own, it might be social time, you might have it to yourself.)
Mags gives detailed directions, as apparently GPS can send you to the wrong place. Waze got us there after dark, but other navigation systems might not.
We've stayed in a lot of places in the hill country; this is hands down our favorite! They really thought of everything!
We really enjoyed our time at the Lazy S, away from the hustle and bustle of the Austin area. We enjoyed exploring the small historic town of Comfort and visiting the 2 wineries that were both within 2 miles of the Lazy S—we even became members of one of them! We loved waking up and enjoying the beautiful sunrise off the deck with coffee in the morning and focusing on just us as we celebrated our 25th anniversary. Though we didn’t bring our pup with us this time, the cabin was super welcoming to the furry friends! We did have a ahem, visitor the first night of the scorpion type, but we forced his exit quite quickly and no friends joined him🤣. Maggie was quite accommodating with information and my suggestion is definitely make sure to follow her directions! We had a slight um detour in the dark thanks to Google Maps but figured it out and made it fine. The only thing I would say is paperwork indicated a Keurig so I bought coffee pods instead of bringing my beans and grinder, but there was coffee available for the coffeemaker, so it was all good. Now that we are members of the wine club close by, we will be back to try out the fire pit and grill (and maybe do some hiking/exploring of the property more)!
Thanks again for an awesome stay!
Property is beautiful and rustic. Rain on a tin roof is magical (acorns too..lol). Mags was on top of everything. Super awesome hostess. Deer everywhere along with other wildlife. Off the beaten path, but close enough to many destinations for a short beautiful drive. Quiet, stars every where and when Mags sends her directions, heed to them...it's a journey.
Absolutley pet friendly and they love it out there.
Loved our stay for a special birthday getaway with the hubs and out sweet four legged baby girl, Ral Gal. He is awesome and so looking forward to going back.
